I received my AT&T S7 Edge today, and I noticed that my Settings app is laid out differently than what I've seen in others' review videos or screenshots. It's shown in a tab view instead of a regular list view like most devices have. And the frequently used settings at the top aren't in a grid like normal, which bugs me. See the attached screenshot that I took.
Is this just an AT&T thing, or do any of you on other carriers have it laid out this way? What an odd thing for a carrier to alter...what's the point?!

What does it say in the top right corner, where it says more? Click there. It might have a toggle there to change how you see the settings. List and tab I think.
Yes its the at&t special

That's one of the first things I thought of, and unfortunately it just has one option, "Edit Quick Settings". I think this is just how the Settings app is on AT&T. So weird. I've never heard of carriers totally changing the UI of a system app before. I'd prefer the classic layout. There's too many tabs to swipe through. *Sigh*, first world problems.
I heard the unbranded firmware is already on sammobile(dot)com.

Only for the exynos variant as of now though.

Okay so we all know the S4 for the US carriers had the auto correct feature disabled without any way to enable it (Thank you Apple). Installing an international keyboard resulted in extreme lag.
The big question is will the Note 3 keyboard suffer the same fate because of the Apple lawsuit? I know some of you dislike auto correct but for me typing without it is an infuriating mess. I like Swiftkey and the Android keyboard but I really like Samsung's number row at the top and would prefer to use that instead.
Perhaps N2 keyboard could be ported in case it's disabled?
Why not download Google keyboard from play store
Never mind I see you mentioned that already
Sent from my HTC One using Tapatalk 2
If I'm not mistaken samsung keyboard is the only keyboard that supports multi-window
Auto-correct isn't universally reviled?
hmmm so nobody knows the answer to this one? I was about to make a thread and found this one thanks to the XDA feature before creating a thread, previous ones pop up....
But this questions sort of suggests that the International version of the Note 3 comes with auto correct within the new keyboard.... why would the US version not come with it? can someone confirm? i loved the Note 2's keyboard but it didnt have auto correction... just word prediction but you could not enable auto correct, press the space bar and continue typing on the keyboard... this should be a no brainer feature to have but for some reason, Samsung keeps finding a way to avoid adding it to the features..
again, can someone confirm? we'd appreciate it a lot
My phone is unbranded&unlocked and I bought it here in the Middle East so I have no idea what US or EU carriers will have.
But yes, it does come with auto-correct although they call it "auto-replacement".
Other included options: Auto-Capitalization, Auto-Spacing, Auto-Punctuate, Predictive Text Continuous Input, Character Preview etc...
The AT&T version most certainly has all the auto correct features you could ever want, even with hand written

It shows the handwriting autocorrect, if that's what you were asking about. I don't see why an AT&T device would have this feature omitted, but you know..."carriers"...

he says auto correct feature works when writing words via the s pen so i guess it's safe to assume it works when typing on the keyboard and this is the snap dragon 800....nice and thank you

great! now that's something to look forward to on my tmobile note 3
well at 8:34 in this video, the Qualcom version of the note 3 (USA) looks like it does have auto correct (pressing the space bar to select corrected word) yes! http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=iFTSripjgPg
Over on Reddit someone got ahold of US spec software for the Note 4 and is answering questions now.

Did you notice the auto-brightness +5 to -5 slider that is in the shown in the notification panel? Looks like they added that feature in their software, or it was always there and we just needed Wanam to activate it. Either way, I'm glad it is included by default finally.
Damn that looks nice!! Especially the volume rocker is siiiickkk
Something not right about the signal bars.
Generic LTE signal bar, so not a T-Mo, VZW or AT&T variant.

I love that feature.
He could be using the unlocked developer version.
I want to know why everyone else is getting leaks and we just get crickets
this is a good sign! hopefully we'll all get it soon.
If it runs the way Im hoping it runs I will be back to touchwiz to take full advantage of my Note 4! I just cant stand the delay in the recent apps or the little bits here and there.

It sucks that Lollipop has the heads up notifications instead of the classic notification ticker. You either get a huge banner that covers part of your screen for 10 seconds, or you get a single icon in the status bar.
I wish Samsung had implemented an option to choose the classic (as it is in 4.4) or new Lollipop style (looks like iPhone banners).
Well I noticed that Favorites is spelled the European way "Favourites"
I suppose that may mean nothing but still doesn't look ready for us yet
Downloaded....

What about ui any changes call app messages etc?any screensots please
So far as I can tell there is no theme settings which is a bummer. The new UI look is nice and updated, but not much else has changed. Just getting myself familiar with everything. I'm actually not too impressed so far, though I did better on the Marshmallow android game than on the Lollipop one xD

Thanks! Sprint's service is mediocre where I live but it's very cheap and they roll out updates promptly (or as promptly as Samsung allows). Still, no theming is disappointing even though they did bring over updates to the S-pen.
Time to look forward to N, if not OTA then via custom ROMs! The multi-window there is more robust and behaves more how I'd expect it to.
Adoptable storage will work if you use the S7 work around via ADB

lol gonna piss off some guys at work tomorrow who have limited verizon plans that no more Pandora during work (for now anyway).
Also there's the option to turn off Fast Charge now, not sure if the previous had this option.
One more thing, even after your battery goes below 15% you can still adjust the brightness slider. It doesn't turn dark and dissappear now like it used to.
In v6 I could set the individual colors of selected contacts in the People Edge screen by tapping a "+: sign.
I do not see this option anymore. I assume I am looking in the wrong place. Any help?
Regards

Not sure if this function still exists in Nougat. Some of the good features were removed, such as all apps on homescreen, including this color option...... Unfortunately.
Yes Seriously. I updated my phone yesterday. Now that feature gone vary sad.

With root it would be as simple as downloading MM version of the people edge app and replacing it with current one.

you can enable "force long display" to always open apps in 18:9 screen ratio.
ps: this will disable the app scaling feature as it'll always be 18:9..
there are other usefull stuff too like disabling LDB app which will free up some ram (about 100 mb). and other stuff..
Does anyone have the code for the Canadian version?

I still don't quite understand the inner workings of how LG makes the app scaling work. If you switched DPI to <500 via adb it basically stops working, BUT so far I've not seen one app with weird graphics, even netflix: all i have to do is press the maximize button a second time when the video is playing full screen and the black bars go away.
