you can enable "force long display" to always open apps in 18:9 screen ratio.
ps: this will disable the app scaling feature as it'll always be 18:9..
there are other usefull stuff too like disabling LDB app which will free up some ram (about 100 mb). and other stuff..
Does anyone have the code for the Canadian version?

Don't know, but on my phone i entered *#546368#*872# (different than I've seen in thread so far) because my model is an h872. Maybe you need to substitute the 3 digits for whatever you have?
Cheers!

I still don't quite understand the inner workings of how LG makes the app scaling work. If you switched DPI to <500 via adb it basically stops working, BUT so far I've not seen one app with weird graphics, even netflix: all i have to do is press the maximize button a second time when the video is playing full screen and the black bars go away.

Got no clue on Verizon, I'm presuming you tried *#546368#*988# - might work if you hadn't, and the service menu might be the same even though there's a different carrier.

I think the user JeremyChen is the winner.

Wow... sneaky bastards!
All phones on Marshmallow have this option by default even if it does nothing. It's a feature that Google is using for phones with unlockable bootloaders for increased security and it just happened to make its way here and on multiple other phones that don't allow unlocking.

It's like the dummy thermostat put on the wall behind the counter at banks.
Tellers are some of the fussiest folks when it comes to temperatures.
The HVAC management company never allows them to change settings.
So to stop complaints, they put a dummy thermostat up.
And it gets adjusted many times during the day.
And they feel better about it.

Hey guys, as you might know, the "OK Google" hotword detection is not able to be used when the screen is off. I thought this was odd given the sheer amount of sensors packed in the Mate 9, so I wanted to see if I could find a workaround. And find a workaround I did! Best of all, it does not require root and does not drain any extra battery as it takes advantage of one of Huawei's native EMUI features
I'll post a tutorial on the XDA Portal so keep a look out for it!

No. OpenMic+ stopped working awhile back because Google told them to stop. Plus using OpenMic+ leads to excessive battery drain.

It's a little bit uncomfortable for me. But not a big problem.
Unfortunately, I don't think Korean versions of LG phones got bootloader unlocked (recently we don't have any unlocking bootloader tool for Korean ones). So maybe, we have to live with those things.
Sent from my LGM-G600K using Tapatalk
It's the same story with different variants of the V20. Sucks big time but I knew the situation before getting mine. Even if I dont have root I think this will still be a keeper.
I'm well pleased with the phone and and there's no carrier bloat at all. There's several native LG apps but they're mostly useful so I've no complaints.
The dual clock thing is a PITA. But not a deal breaker for me. There is an app on the play store, dual clock removal which works without root, but its not been updated for the G6.
The Dual Zone clock can be removed by using an app called QuickShortcutMaker on the Play Store. After installing the app, scroll to find the "roaming" app and under it there should be an item called dual zone clock (or something similar). Click on and it and press launch. There would be any option where you could disable the dual clocks after you have launched it.

Also I've paid for the XDA premium app which is pretty much useless now!
What happened?
You know you can manually change it in settings
click one the "OnePlus 5". All the OnePlus devices will pop up, and select OnePlus 5.
It's because you restored the app data from a OnePlus One backup. Wipe XDA app data and it should pick up the correct values.

Like others have mentioned, you can manually select OP5 as your device. The latest test build (opt in through Settings) has an updated device lib though and should detect your device. A new updated beta will be out tonight (supporting the op5) for what it's worth.
Let me know if it's not. Feel free to drop by the Labs telegram and ping me. You can check your model number against the device name here at the open source Device Registry.

In regards to power consumption, it's not anywhere near the top of my battery hog list so I'm not too worried about that.

Aye, unfortunately sharing by post line would mean we'd have to use some kind of complex anchor system since each person's device (or PC) could show different text depending on the resolution, etc.
As for copying text, we had to get rid of inline long press due to an Android bug. Instead you can long press on a post and select copy text, then copy from the dialog that pops up.
