Anyone who has there s7 edge figured out how to disable that annoying "allow Google to scan regularly"? Google settings app gone do can't figure it out.
Goto settings, app manager and down to google settings. There you see security settings and can turn of the app scanning

Settings-applications- scroll down to google settings - scroll down to security - deactivate app scanning point at the bottom
It's the Google at the bottom

Hey all,
Nexus 4, complete stock. I've been playing around with my location settings and cannot figure out why GPS will ALWAYS keep running regardless of my settings. The GPS Timer will keep ticking up no matter what, even force closing Maps application.
Settings -> Location Access
Settings -> Google account -> Location settings -> On/off
Maps -> Settings -> Location Settings -> Uncheck all / Not reporting
Only solution I've found is to restart my phone, anyone else experience this or know how to fix it?

Go to settings > Location access make sure everything there is unchecked and/or turned off.
If your problem still persists, you can use Greenify from the play store
https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.oasisfeng.greenify
This helps to stop GMaps from running in the background.
If you rather not root or your problem still persists you should try doing a factory reset.
If all else fails, RMA!
Good luck

OR
I'm not having this issue with my N7 or my GNex (which I still keep around for browsing with wifi at home)
Any ideas?

ummmmm I think so. Is this under settings in Chrome browser? Or the phone's settings?

Auto sync must be enabled too, of course

yes, it's on. When I click on "Sync now" They all start syncing but Chrome doesn't. And when I touch that part that says "touch to sync now", it doesn't sync
Go to settings for chrome. Force stop, clear data clear cache. Reopen chrome. Should be fine.

Might not be related, but do you have location logging in certain apps (facebook etc) enabled? And is Location settings set to WiFi and GPS? Because it sounds to me like something keeps using WiFi and GPS for something.
Go to settings>wifi, hit menu button on the bottom left and select advanced. Untick scanning always available... You can also change "wifi always on" too but I tend to leave it on....
Thnx all wifi is fixed but gps not
So I have issues with getting the accessibility options to be selectable. Additionally, I can't install the search for t-torrent. It won't allow me to click install. Yes I have unknown sources checked. Any other options I might be missing?

This is what I am referring to. I can't select ok. Just cancel. I am just curious if I am the only one with this issue. I have it on both my Z ultra and mxpe.

Are you using any kind of screen filter app (e.g. twilight)?
Since it's happening on both your phones, I can tell you its some app you have installed.
Android won't let you enable accessibility or install unknown apps with a filter installed.
^Exactly. Like if you have lux installed for example.
I actually do have lux installed. I'll try and install and see if that fixes it. Thanks both of you.

You need to disable lux and change the accessibility settings and then restart lux.

I put it to "sleep" and that fixed it. Thanks all.

Hi, I have just started having the problem, everytime I turn my phone off and back on I get this page come up, then when I hit the back button it goes straight back to my homescreen! Does anyone have any ideas what's happening and how I can stop it?
Thanks
Pete

never seen before ... Whats your current rom?
I think this has to do with Profile sharing, go to Apps > Contacts > tap on 'My Profile' (top of the list) and check all settings. I disabled it fully, I noticed I got a message saying something my phone number was deactivated and it backed out of these settings itself. The number at the top of your screen wil be empty if all is deactivated.

Many thanks juuls, that seems to have done the trick, I must have ticked something by accident as its only just started happening.
Pete.
