Fastboot Flash Error - Preflash Validation Failed, Please Help - X Style (Pure) Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

Hi Everyone,
I'm using a Moto X Pure Edition XT1575 32GB running MM 6.0 stock with Feb 1, 2016 security update with unlocked bootloader.
I wanted to flash the MM 6.0 factory images released by Motorola to revert my phone to complete stock and lock the bootloader again.
When I flash, I'm getting the following error
(bootloader) Preflash validation failed
FAILED (remote failure)
Please help... I have also attached a screenshot.

Why did you fastboot oem lock begin before flashing system images? That wasn't in the list of instructions that came with the file...
mxpe 6.0

Same thing happened to me and I didn't even use the fastboot oem lock.

If the February update changed the partition then it will fail. It also happens when you try to downgrade from 6.0 to 5.1.1. If that's the case, then you just ignore it and flash the other files.
Edit: I just checked in the update zip. It updates the partition so it can't be downgraded. Just ignore that and flash the other files.

Thanks. I'm actually in the progress of downloading the files straight from Motorola so I know for sure they are legit.

Thanks everyone, I will follow the instructions and flash others.

Let me know how it goes. I'm actually gonna go back to stock just to see if it works for future use. I just received my moto x pure yesterday. I don't think the stock rom is up to date like the files from the Motorola website.

got the same issue nothing seems to work. Any ideas ?

There are a dozen threads here about flashing stock images... all of them talk about pre-flash validation errors... Maybe one my signature will help?

Not development topic!
Anyway, it's better to upgrade your phone to newest combo
Scenario:
1. in fastboot-mode (like at first screen) run
Code:
fastboot getvar cid
fastboot getvar cidnum
You will get your regional customerid (CID)
2. According CID choose appropriate RUU from library in section "Vodafone Magic / Sapphire 32B: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=659403
3. Run it. Now you have build number CRC24 (Android 1.5), after RUU you will have build number DRC92 (Android 1.6), but it is not enough.
4. Then you need apply two update files to get hboot 1.33.0013 / radio 2.22.28.25 (VODAFONE OTA UPDATE from DRC92 to FRG83D)
This combo is most used combo for Magic 32B now. You will have Android 2.2 too.
5. At this step you need get root again (cause it will disappear while installing official roms). Run SuperOneClick
6. Even on Android 2.2 you can not run "fastboot flash recovery recovery-RA-sapphire-v1.7.0G.img", cause hboot 1.33.0013 does not allow it too like hboot 1.33.0007
In this case you need follow steps 5, 7, 9 (only these) from manual: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showpost.php?p=7707672&postcount=1
p.s. Sure, you can do step 6 instead to get custom recovery, but your current combo (hboot/radio) is not used in custom roms. So you have to change it in future. It's better to change them first following all steps in this post.
thank you so much now i have 2.2.1 5[Strogino]

Need help recovering TM MyTouch 32A with SPL(old) Radio(new) mismatch

I loaded new Radio, SPL and Recovery on my phone and lost recovery after that. So I decided to load TM 2.10 release and it overwrote SPL and got hung up loading Radio causing SPL Radio mismatch. Long story short, after that I got great help from mumilover to load SPL 1.33.0014G and unlock the bootloader. Loading of 1.33.0014G changed version-main to 3.57. However good news is boot, recovery and system image files can be loaded one by one making seperate ZIP files with custom android-info.txt files.
I tried cwm-carz-v4.0.1.4-0820-recovery, recovery-RA-sapphire-v1.7.0G, recovery-RA-magic+-v2.0.0.1-seo, recovery-RA-hero-v1.6.2, recovery-clockwork-2.5.0.7-sapphire and recovery_patched___ra162_635 recoveries, but none of them starts. Also tried to load boot and system images from various releases but with unsuccessful boot.
I tried to load recovery as boot but gives partion update error.
I am looking for any suggestion or special recovery or boot and system image enabling to give access to android system or recovery.
Phone display following on HBoot screen.

What's about mumilover? Did he help again? (He is best tech here)
p.s. try
Code:
fastboot flash recovery your_recovery.img
We could make our own recovery image, the source is open on git.
The only thing it has to do, is to flash eng spl on the device!
I have a school project due May 23 and have limited time... but you have me on skype, lets see what we can do :0)
I recovered my phone with XTC Clip
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1231297
However my HBOOT is at 1.33.0014, which is different then yours. Do you know XTC clip supports this HBOOT?

I finally managed to install this goddamn lollipop. I had a custom recovery and I could not find the stock version. Finally I found it here (http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?p=54872143#post54872143).
So, fastboot everything!
Code:
fastboot flash partition gpt.bin
fastboot flash motoboot motoboot.img
fastboot flash logo logo.bin
fastboot flash boot boot.img
fastboot flash recovery recovery.img
fastboot flash system system.img_sparsechunk.0
fastboot flash system system.img_sparsechunk.1
fastboot flash system system.img_sparsechunk.2
fastboot flash modem NON-HLOS.bin
fastboot erase modemst1
fastboot erase modemst2
fastboot flash fsg fsg.mbn
fastboot erase cache
fastboot erase userdata
fastboot reboot
This is my OTA copied from /cache.

The file name of an OTA update matches the currently installed firmware. So it's probably the right file
It's the right file !!!!!!!!!!! just upload it ! I will make a mirror for google drive.
Ok. Uploading it again...

I think it is because i'm trying to update my phone using a custom recovery and i need the stock one.
No way. I suck. Sorry ^_^
You need to flash stock recovery from the development section.
By the way, I take it that it isn't retail but o2 filmware?
ignore this.

After 20s update cannot unlock bootloader

Hi
I installed latest 20s for lepro 3 x727 and i want to install cm.
The problem is that i cannot unlock the bootloader
It said remote unlock failed.
Maybe this update came with a security patch for stop unlock bootloaders.

Go to the persistent bootloader unlock thread, download the bootloader files, unzip and run these commands
fastboot flash xbl xbl.elf
fastboot flash aboot emmc_appsboot.mbn
Then reboot and do the bootloader unlock command.
I've been searching for an answer to this to avoid a new thread but I will ask here. Can you confirm that taking the 20s OTA after being on stock 19s that the same unlock methods and files do still work? Thanks in advance!
I did an ota update fully stock no root.
I can confirm that unlocking the method works multiple ways:
1: LeEco aio toolkit latest version
2: Both methods in the thread of persistant bootloader unlock 19's
