Hi Everyone,
can anybody code me a Mobile Internet on/off Widget for my LauncherPro ?
Can't find anyrhing in the market...
Greetings
APN droid
switch pro
that's just too, there are loads in the market.
Unfortunately most of them won't work for a reason ( I think it's a common problem of 2.2) - it's the typical behavior, tried extended controls and apn droid and neither of them are working correctly. Due to the renaming of the apn it looses for 2-3 sek the mobile connection and then it comes back again on sense and non-sense roms. The only data switch which is working for me is the one from the cm kernel/rom.
Agreed, most of the widgets out in the market don't work well. Also, if the mobile internet is on and these widgets just change the APN, won't the battery be consumed in 'looking' for the right internet connection?
The closest I got to a solution for this is not a widget, but a 2-step process. From LauncherPro, go to Add -> Shortcuts -> Activities -> Settings -> Wireless & Networks
This would add the Wireless and Networks widget to your homescreen. Every time you need to toggle your connection, press the widget which will take you to the Wireless & Network settings page, and from there, you can tick/untick mobile internet connection.
I am going to ask fede of launcher pro if he can consider adding them as a launcher pro + widget.
Hi
Is there any alternative to the HTC Mobile Network Widget, that either allows direct enable / disable or takes you to settings/networks.
I know some of the widgets, enable or disable the APN, but I prefer the HTC method of actually disabling the network connection, not just fiddling with the APN.
Thanks
Pls any program in the market to easily help me manage my internet connections. Some programs are eating up my data plan.
Wht dont you add the mobile network widget to your home screens? It's in the Add widgets > Settings > Mobile Network
use the default htc data dashboard wiget or the power widget
You can also search the market or appbrain.com for power control widget
Try to disable the always on internet by pressing power button and selecting the last option. This will increase the battery
Is there a way to switch data roaming on/off easily on the X2? Somehow I do not seem to find any options (it is very easy on Android phones through a dedicated menu setting in the preferences). Thanks for suggestions!
Normally if you set up ActiveSync properly and you uncheck in Schedule "use above settings when roaming" you ought to be safe. Maybe you should also check the Fast Gps settings to update satellite data manually only. This is about it when it comes to default apps. If you have installed other apps, rss readers, email clients or web browsers you should pay more attention to their connection habits.
Or you can try these apps:
No Data In Roaming: automatically restricts data traffic when roaming.

Data Controller : manually switch data connections.

The Liberty rom doesn't appear to have an option to change data roaming options. The stock OTA steps advise:
To enable/disable data roaming:
Press the Menu key from the Home Screen.
Touch Settings
Touch Data manager
Touch Data Delivery
Activate checkmark under Background data to enable data sharing in background
Activate checkmark under Data Roaming to connect to data services when roaming
Of course, with Liberty, Data manager doesn't exist, so how do I enable it?
