Hi
Is there any alternative to the HTC Mobile Network Widget, that either allows direct enable / disable or takes you to settings/networks.
I know some of the widgets, enable or disable the APN, but I prefer the HTC method of actually disabling the network connection, not just fiddling with the APN.
Thanks

Hi all,
I have a XDA 2 which works almost perfectly, the gprs settings connect me to the internet and ms messener. I have a small piece of vpn softwate that allows me to connect to my work network and use the intranet there using netfront/pie. I have an IM application that resorts to using the default network option (i think) when the application is started it disconnect gprs and my work vpn and then attempts to connect using the MMS O2 gprs setting and no amount of fiddling with the xda 2 can fix this, my IM app does not have a select adapter option.
Does anyone know where this is stored so that it can be deleted completely? I have found the settings in mms composer but I am unable to delete it?
It does nto show up in the standard network settings either.
Any help would be much appreciated
Thanks andi
Any way to disable gprs in the handset. Some of my applications are using gprs for updating and my service provider is charging me like anything. I have wifi and want to use that alone for data... is there a setting somewhere which will help me in disabling GPRS
i tried the nodata ( nogprs) application but its not working for me

Do you need GPRS at all? If not, go to Settings->Connections->Connections->Manage existing and delete everything.
Setting > Connection and select "my work network" as internet connection instead of your provider's one.
You can change it back anytime you need to really use GPRS
Disable GPRS WM6.5

In the registry you’ve got the following key:
HKLM\Comm\ConnMgr\Providers\{7C4B7A38-5FF7-4bc1-80F6-5DA7870BB1AA}\Connections
Export this key to enable GPRS later on.
Go inside your data connections and you’ll find a key, “Enabled." This key has a value 1, change this for every connection to 0.
There, you're done.
You could try to go to the Comm Manager and disabling "Phone" and activating Wi-Fi.
Hope this helps!
Try the Moto Toggle Widget on the market. Requires root, but works
The thing is when i connect through gprs i have to go through a proxy, but when i connect through wifi, the proxy settings have to be disabled.
I found this program BatteryStatus that has this option "Disable proxy when wifi/cradled".
But I really don't need any other options from this program, so i was wondering if maybe someone knew or could come up with just a tiny app that would do the same and only that?
Thanks a lot in advance!
i had it on the my stock Tmobile Desire , so i could just add the widget that either enabled or disabled my HSDPA connection. Since i upgrade to froyo , i dont have that option, so i have to go thru Settings, wireless & networks, mobile networks ,Data enabled to switch it on/off
switch pro widget
extended controls widget
both available on market
Hi Everyone,
can anybody code me a Mobile Internet on/off Widget for my LauncherPro ?
Can't find anyrhing in the market...
Greetings
APN droid
switch pro
that's just too, there are loads in the market.
Unfortunately most of them won't work for a reason ( I think it's a common problem of 2.2) - it's the typical behavior, tried extended controls and apn droid and neither of them are working correctly. Due to the renaming of the apn it looses for 2-3 sek the mobile connection and then it comes back again on sense and non-sense roms. The only data switch which is working for me is the one from the cm kernel/rom.
Agreed, most of the widgets out in the market don't work well. Also, if the mobile internet is on and these widgets just change the APN, won't the battery be consumed in 'looking' for the right internet connection?
The closest I got to a solution for this is not a widget, but a 2-step process. From LauncherPro, go to Add -> Shortcuts -> Activities -> Settings -> Wireless & Networks
This would add the Wireless and Networks widget to your homescreen. Every time you need to toggle your connection, press the widget which will take you to the Wireless & Network settings page, and from there, you can tick/untick mobile internet connection.
I am going to ask fede of launcher pro if he can consider adding them as a launcher pro + widget.
