I had the iPhone 6S Plus before coming back to Android. Got used to the look of the emojis and now the Samsung emojis look really weird to me. Is there a way to change the emojis without root?
Not without root. Not that I know of. You'll get used to them.

Hi All,
Been reading this forum for days, and am really keen on a LG G2. I find that just trying them out in the store doesn't really give me a good idea if I'll like it (can't install apps, tweak it too much). I am still concerned about some of the reviews that have come out, what do people who already have the LG G2 think of them?
Examples - I can't post outside links yet but heres my attempt to obfuscate them: arstechnica-lgs-g2-smartphone-gets-caught-living-in-the-shadows-of-giants androidpolice-lg-g2-review-a-pretty-good-phone-held-back-by-some-pretty-not-good-software
The primary concerns from the reviews seem to be the UI, but I'm guessing I can change most of that to my liking? From what I've read here people seem to love the UI and the features, and the more I read the more I think I might too! The font change is probably the thing I'm most concerned about, even the Roboto option isn't like the default Android font option.
The other concern I have is I like to theme and change the icons, but I've heard that the only way to do that with the LG UI is to change them one by one?
Also I can't root due to some applications I need to run for my job (and RootCloak doesn't allow them to run sadly), so I'd love to know what are the first things to do for a non rooted user?
Thanks all, appreciate the advice.
Don't rely on reviews. Try it yourself as I did, and my former Galaxy S4 lost to this nice mobile
I'm a recovering crack-flasher and absolutely love this phone as is. My only gripe with the ui is the folder design, that's it. The performance is incredible, the battery goes on forever, and custom roms can't match the feature content of the stock rom.

Buy it.
forget the reviews, most of them are paid to write good things about one brand and bash the other. it's an amazing phone and you'll love it.

Cool, so any suggestions on things to do with the phone when I first get it to remove as much of the UI bloat as possible? I'll probably be picking it up next week. Excited, as my last android was a HTC Legend (I do also have a Acer A500 tablet).
Stock LG ui font is Smart Gothic but it gives you the option to change to roboto.
The icons has to be changed one by one Unless you use a different launcher like Nova or Apex.
I agree that the folder on the home screen is ugly. (I prefer Nova)

Hi guys,
I'm a long time android user that's been enjoying the iphone 7 plus for the last 6 months. Couldn't resist the charm of the S8 so have switched allegiances again. The one thing that is really grating on me however is the ugly icons. Samsung has done a good job of making theirs look nice but beyond that they have just stick the original icon in a box.
I am not particularly fond of the stock Google ones that are all different shapes and sizes. I really want an iOS icon pack as they all have the same look and feel regardless of the app. I've searched the Samsung themes and there are no really compete packs and have tried downloading the icon packs from here but no way to apply them.
Anyone know where and how I can get an icon pack and apply through the themes?
I also prefer the iOS emojis
One of the very few benefits of having an iPhone, Emojis and iMessage lol.

You may download the "Textra" messaging app. Which I believe is better than the stock messaging app. Then you may download an iOS icon pack for textra and use it, but only in Textra.
Granted you actually root your devices. Honestly there is nothing I need root for with this device.
1. I can record games with internal audio.
2. I like the eq with my new jaybird x3s so I don't miss audio mods.
3. There's a built in theme engine so I don't need substratum or cm theme engine. Plus themes aren't high on my list of important features but they are cool.
4. I never cared much about xposed except for adding a restart option which samsung ads on there phones.
For me rooting would be a waste of effort because I wouldn't use it for anything.
I like to mod and control my phone completely. So yes I miss it. I don't use Xposed though mostly changing root files and changing boot animations setting different system apps ect....
Im with s8 exynos but not root too.
i hate ads and adhell can block them without root or local vpn
I can disable bloatware by package disabler pro
that's all I need
This will be my first non-rooted Android, and I can't say it bothers me in the least. It's my 11th, with a 2 year iPhone break.
I use mine for work so I couldn't root if it were available. With Nova and a theme from the Samsung store I'm happy with it.
I actually switched to Apple a few years ago to get experience with iOS and because I got tired of flashing and tweaking. Seemed I was always downloading and tinkering more than anything else. I didn't miss it then and I don't now.
I didnt root my S6 and it was fine.

Hello, im a fan of a clean stock android with no modifications. This EMUI is driving me crazy, many apps don't work the way they should. Lockscreen is a disaster. Also i don't like the look and feel from Emui it remembsers me to iOS when you go under settings. Why must everyone try to copycat iOS.
In short. I found no custom ROM's. Is it possible to remove EMUI? Otherwise the device is useless for me.

I also hate EMUI. Install Nova Launcher and set it the way you like. My phone is a Google Nexus. With Nova Launcher, the tablet looks and acts almost exactly like my phone. I am so satisfied that that I bought the prime version.
exist any rom with touchwiz s8 galaxy for leeco max 2? i don't want launcher, only rom with touchwiz
obs: sorry for my english, is too bad!! sounds like ****, thanks for all guys!!
No. There is no rom with touchwiz for this, and frankly, I don't think anyone bothers porting it to devices outside of Samsung.
Is there a reason you want it? If it's a matter of icons, those are replaced easily enough... otherwise TW is kind of just bloated garbage.

i really liked the visual white and smart, that is the reason of my doubt, more one question: you know any app to remove borders or transform screen completely without borders black?

Yeah, it's called "buy a new phone"

That may help you.
