No unlock for you - T-Mobile Samsung Galaxy S7 Edge Questions & Answer

I tried the unlock app, and keep in mind I've already been a customer for 6 years and bought this phone straight up no lease . said it denied me. Can't wait to jailbreak this phone.
When will we get unbranded phones!

If it's paid in full you should be able to call customer service and have them flag it and try again. I think there is a short delay period though.

You mean root? That has absolutely nothing to do with SIM unlocking your phone. You know that, right?

no you are correct, however, there is a guy in teh Note 5 forums who can help you unlock Tmobile phones if the phone is rooted.

I paid in full, talked on tmo chat and them dm's with Twitter and got it unlocked on day 3.

They often unlock within a week or two so long as you've paid the phone off.

Twitter customer service unlocked mine after 1 week. I bought the phone up front. I went with prepaid tho not postpaid. Postpaid people have to wait 45 days

get out off att contract

i want to end my contract with att but i dont want to pay 175 dollars is there a fool proof way to get out of my contract?
Actually I have a question here, too.
I'm eligible for upgrade next January. Does that mean I can get out of the contract by that time or do I still need to serve the full 2 years in their prison?
Are you on unlimited data? You could try to use an enormous amout of data... I don't know if this will work though, I have seen people's bill who have used 15-20gb's with no notice...
AT&T Fine Print said:
If you are on a data plan that does not include a monthly megabyte allowance and additional data usage rates, the parties agree that AT&T has the right to impose additional charges if you use more than 5 GB in a month. That's one reason I'm not hesitating on my data usage... I'm probably going to hit 10-12gb's this month and I don't tether at all, I wonder what I would use if I started tethering

No, having an upgrade doesnt mean you're out of contract. Unless your two years are up, you will still get an ETF. But at least its prorated.

I have heard that if you tell them you are leaving the country they will let you out of your contract without paying the ETF. Maybe tell them you or your family got a job in Europe or something.
you signed a contract, how about you honor it or pay the ETF like you said you would?
Sometimes I have heard that if you are moving to a new cellular company, you can convince them to pay the fee for you if you sign onto one of their contracts. Going from one contract to another, but if you wanted to switch to Verizon you might be able to get them to pay it for you.
(Notice: I have never done this nor know anyone who has tried it. I read it was possible online so results will vary. Also depends on who you are dealing with I assume)

Sprint Premier Silver members, you still get your 1yr upgrade.

I just had a conversation with Sprint Customer Support about my upgrade.
I am considered a Sprint Premier Silver customer, 7 years service and the 1500 minute shared everything plan.
My upgrade for 1 yr on the previous premier set up came in February but I had bought an EVO off contract when my Hero died trying to save my upgrade for the new phones of the summer.
Obviously with the premier change I got borked, or at least I thought I was.
All Sprint Premier Silver customers are eligible for a one time override due to the change of plans. You do have to call into customer service and ask for it, she called it a Tier One Override and said it is a relatively new change to their policy.
I am now throwing down $50 to pre-order the EVO 3D.
If this helps you please hit the thanks button!

It depends on who you talk to. The guts at my local sprint store gave us the new upgrade price on one of my lines. Not sure if I can get it on the other line. Looks like the wife gets the evo 3d lol.

No, they didn't give me the $75 off, they gave me the full upgrade of $150.
Thats why I posted it for people who would be getting their upgrade if it wasnt for the policy change, they WILL let you have your full upgrade. You simply have to request it.
The customer service rep said she couldn't do anything, I asked for a supervisor. A few moments later she came back on and apologized saying there was a new policy that allowed it. Never even spoke to the supervisor. She said my account was immediately reset for an upgrade.
I have since gone to the sprint store by my house, asked them to verify, and placed a pre-order down.
I got my full $150 upgrade back as of July 1st. Does this mean I get $150 off the retail price? Also, does the 2 year upgrade reset my contract from the time I get the new phone or is it stacked on top of the year I have left?

You are signing a new 2 year agreement, it doesn't stack on top of any time remaining on your previous contract. That isn't how their early upgrade has ever worked.

Think with the 100 evo trade in will still be in effect if I do this?
Yeah Ok, so if I call sprint get my upgrade reset can I still trade in my evo for $150 with sprint?? Meaning getting my evo 3d for a very cheap price!?
Maybe I should yell more then next time I call CS as my wife's contract expires BEFORE she's eligible for the $150. See below
Your agreement with us, which started on 11/04/09, will be completed on 07/03/11.
save $75 on a new phone now,
or save $150 in 1 0 1 days on 09/01/11..
Is the discount for $150 off of the new contract Price or the retail Price?

As long as it is from reputable store (ie Best Buy, Walmart, Radioshack, Amazon, ect) you've not nothing to worry about regarding the ESN. Its only when you buy it from some guy on Craigslist or Ebay or something.
Yeah i know. But those reputable stores sell only new phones. Im okay buying used phone thats affordable. Its just that I have to risk when dealing in ebay/craiglists. If it was gsm, i wouldnt have to risk on getting a phone that wont activate. I think gsm phones worth more than cdma phones in ebay too.

Oh, I thought you meant "Sprint store" by official store.
You can check http://www.checkesnfree.com/ if you want. Or if you find somebody on craigslist you can have them meet you at a Sprint store and have them activate it before you give him your money.

CAUTION: The guy who wanted to buy my previous Epic used that website and it kept saying my ESN wasn't clean/clear. I offered to activate it at a Sprint store with him but he refused to travel half a mile (he's a Cricket ESN "repairman"). It was sold next day to a lady who activate it just fine.
Moral of the story is to always call Sprint or meet in store. The only concern after that is getting robbed and/or shanked D:
lol thats such crap. especially with the lack of prolific 4g markets...

I bought the phone from by phone to ensure that i will keep my unlimited data plan.
The Salesman (It is a salesman and i believed him !!!) told me that i will keep my plan.
I received the bill from email and i see that my plan was retrograde to 300Mb for $20.
Call them back and they say sorry, we love you, the sky is blue with a lot of sun and birds, it was a miscommunication.
Is there a way to get back after receive the phone the grandfathered unlimited data plan ? or I need to cancel my order
$50 for that phone instead of 200
Thanks Guys
When buying online like amazon or radio shack you have to one call and don't do the computer order method. And 2 call att and get a good rep and let him know your buying online which requires a plan change but want to keep your unlimited data. And a good rep will mark your account so once you get the phone you can call and restore you unlimited data.
I don't screw around with that crap the extra money compared to the headache of dealing with countless idiot reps etc..

Okay, some fine print time.
Fine Print #1
Those who wish to stay with their current setup of 4GB of double data are able to do so. You will be allowed to upgrade with it, keep it, etc. So if the shared plan is not financially beneficial to you, don't sweat it.
Fine Print #2
Yes, those with unlimited will lose it. ONLY WHEN THEY UPGRADE. So if you never upgrade, you don't lose it for the foreseeable future. Do what I've been doing for years. Buy your phones off craigslist. Meet the seller at a Verizon, let a rep check the ESN and make sure you're not getting scammed with a stolen phone, and call it a day. I picked up my Nexus for $200 on Craigslist, the same cost it sells for at Verizon WITH CONTRACT. This will enable you to keep your unlimited.
The prices on this benefit a lot of people. Consider this:
2 line family plan, both smartphones
99.99 for 700 minutes & unlimited texting
30 for 2GB
30 for 2GB
=$160 a month
Under new plan:
$70 for unlimited talk and text, 4GB of data shared, now with free tethering
40 for 1 phone
40 for other phone
= $150 a month. $10 savings, same GB overall, now unlimited minutes.
I'm not saying this plan is perfect, or that it works for everyone. But the nice part is, if you don't want it, you're not being forced into it. It's an option that's available, and if it benefits you (and it truly does benefit a lot of people. Not everyone, but a lot) then more power to you.
I'll do glad that I am not on Verizon anymore because they are too expensive for their own good.

The real problem with them is that the market is not competitive. Being the biggest network means people will pay whatever ridiculous price they ask without really looking at their other options. I think Straight Talk should offer a $45/month unlimited everything, bring your own device program on Verizon like they do on AT&T and T-Mobile
Verizon smartphone users already **** bricks when they hear how I pay $45/month, don't have a contract, have unlimited everything, and have virtually identical coverage.

They do; Straight Talk re-sells service on all 4 carriers, but you can't bring your own phone for Verizon or Sprint because they won't activate phones that aren't branded by them (even if it's a phone from their own network, it has to be used only directly on their network). There are other limitations like having to reprogram the phone, but the main issue is getting them to activate it, which they don't do.
