So I'm ordering the phone from the UK which means the charger won't work for me here in the US. I was wondering if this samsung adaptive fast charger is the same that comes as stock in the US model, I don't want to miss out on Quick Charge 2.0 so I gotta make sure this one's right otherwise I might end up with a slower charging phone than my current N5 which charges very fast.
These all say output is 5V and 1amp? How does this compare to a wired charger?

It actually says 2A, so I'm wondering for those who already own the S7/S7E is this so called official samsung fast charger same as the one that come stock on the US phone?

Sweet! seems like it is the same power outage, thanks a lot!
It is. Even in the USA, with your lower voltage plugs, it's still 10x what fast charging bricks drawer. Should have no problems at all.
If you try and use 1 with a plug adapter, just make sure it'll pass it through at the correct voltage (although I dunno why it wouldn't). Or you could just order a US charging brick fro Samsung. It's all good.
I'll be using mine in the USA towards the end of the year. So I'm curious to see if if it's all good for you.

I can get the same US charger for like 8-12 bucks from Amazon/Ebay so I think I'll just buy that since I don't plan on going to Europe any time soon. And yeah a plug adapter would probably work but I think I'm better off with the US plug charger since it's pretty cheap.

That's the best idea. The brick you have is for UK only, not Europe anyway. They use a 2 pin plug in Europe, but instead of flat pins they use round.
Whereas it's 3 for the UK because we earth all our plugs, so the long pin goes in first as it's the earthed one.
For sure for the sake of 12 bucks.

Unfortuantly I gave a positive feedback without doing extensive testing. With this set I find that when connected the battery was being drained from the phone at an astonishing rate (about 5-10% per minute).
I had to turn this one upside down for it to fit in my Mazda 626 because of the position of the cigarette lighter. Shoudn't make a difference though.
If anyone can recommend an in car charger that works I would appeciate any information.
I got this one:
http://www.ebay.com.au/itm/New-USB-...ronics_Batteries_Chargers&hash=item2c5ef94c72
And then just connect your data cable or buy one from here:
http://www.ebay.com.au/itm/High-Qua..._Accessories_Wires_Cables&hash=item4cf751cce0
The biggest advantage with this one is that you can recharge pretty much anything that has USB cable...
I found this one in local shop:
www.cellularline.com/catalog/en/cat...to/carica_batterie_da_auto/roller_car_charger
I like the roll-in cable, no hazzle with cable lying around. Maybe a little slow charging, about the same as computer usb port.

I use one of these, having 2 usb ports is handy since I can have my x5 and the wifes u8150 or 1 of the phones + ipod charging at the same time.

I had a general cigarette lighter to USB which I used for my previous phone... works just fine.. no need to buy anything specific.. anything should work
I bought one car charger for my U8800 but it shows different voltage in the specifications. That couldn't reduce the battery life? Or it only affects the % of charge of the battery?

So your chargers are discharging your battery?
Why would this be rom or kernel related?
Read the links with Google translate, very hard to understand what the problem is. Could you try to explain more.
My friend, we are not sure what the problem is and all you could find in the above links, is only the proble, not a sollution... I just pointed them to saw you that this hapens to others as well and that the problem could be something else than the charger...
we concluded to be a kernel problem because if i have a stock rom the same usb charger charges normally but if i have a miui/cm/oxygen rom the same usb car charger discharges the phone. any help/solution/fix is welcome.
Does it working? I've bought one, but mine doesn't working...
I have just update to official 2.3.5 and the problem resist. So, maybe it is not the rom after all... I dont know.
I bought a cheap one from DealExtreme: http://www.dealextreme.com/p/car-cigarette-powered-usb-adapter-charger-blue-dc-12v-24v-36212
Works fine. And I had an old cheap one, that one worked too. Are you attaching a charging cable or a data cable?!?!
Tcm9669, this solution is good for charge everything with each device's orginal usb cable. I buy it from local shop for nearly same price.
No, I actually charge with a different cable I bought again.. from dealextreme (designed for HTC) it's not the original one.

So im seen alot of q's asked about "epad wont turn on" or "charger broke"
Just to let people no 9 times out of ten when you tf wont turn on people tend to think its finished and say there good byes. But a member here has said that theres a problem with the cargers and that putting it in a zip tie bag and putting it into the freezer for 30mins will help.. supposedly the boxy part of the charger has heat sensers and there reading the wrong temperatures so thats the idea of the freezer..
Some user said this helped there heat issue too.
*make sure it a zip tie bag/air tight bag to keep moisture out..
If people whos pad still wont turn on plug it into a laptop/computer to allow a slow charge for approximately 3 hrs and see results
Last resort is to buy a new charger with specifications of output values of 15v/5v
Charging at 1.2A/2A
I write this because i was afraid it would happen me at some stage so i did the searching so you dont have too

The question should be.....
What is classed as overheating?
This has happened to me in the past, and its actually a really simple problem.
More often than not, melted charger connectors are a direct result from charging a device like this with the connector loose, crooked, or not fully inserted.
Our transformers require bit more power than a standard USB connector can provide. As such, the charger connector has a redundant pins for power, to spread the current flow over more than one contact point. This reduces the current flowing though each individual tiny contact point, which is supplied by a tiny wire, and thus keeps the temperature in check. If one contact isn't able to make connection due to a loose connector, crooked or incomplete insertion, more current has to flow through the other contact points which basically begins to overheat.
This problem isn't just related to chargers and things like that. Any devices which you contact points and flow a reasonable amount of current can do this. I've had it happen to a friend who didn't properly seat the DIMMs on his motherboard, and basically overheated some power leads on his DIMM sockets:

nice! I had the same problem, my TF was not charging anymore. I took the charger out of the wall-outlet and let it lie on the ground for a whole day. The day after that one I tried the charger again and it worked again!
Thanks for this nice and helpful information!
This actually falls more under general and useful information than Q&A, so I am moving this to the correct area. Thanks OP for writing this.
Just wondering if anybody has tried, specifically, the Energizer inductive charger for Wii Remotes? It has slots for 2 Wii remotes and uses Qi. I picked one up at Gamestop for $11.99 used ($20 new), and if it does work, this would probably be the cheapest charger out there. Just wanted some feedback to hopefully help others. I'll report back once my phone arrives.
UPDATE - got my phone today and can confirm the Wii "Qi" charger does not seem to work. I will disassemble it over the holidays and see if I can do anything with it, since it is useless now anyway! I note that someone in this thread got it to charge, so I am going to try placing both inductive parts in the centre and see if that does it!
I'm interested in this too..,

Thank you. Please let us know the result.
I just got my phone yesterday too. Very interested if it works.
It didn't seem to work for me. :crying:
I made sure the wiimotes still charged properly on the pad, so I know it's not the pad. The phone definitely stuck to the pad w/ magnets like it's supposed to, but then it just sat there. The pad didn't blink in recognition of a device being present, and no screen-on or charging indication on the phone at all.
So much for using this pre-existing solution for inductive charging!
I'm glad I'm not the only one who tried this. I actually bought one of these to try with my Droid DNA, I plan on getting a Nexus 4 as my second phone (currently a Galaxy Nexus) as soon as I'm able to and I thought this would be great. Good thing is now I got a nice charger for my wii remotes.
I still wonder if there is some kind of simple hack that would make it work.
I didn't think the wiimote charger was Qi. Its more like a power mat which doesn't work either with Qi wireless charging.
Sent from my Nexus 4 using xda premium
It is Qi, it sould work.
IT WORKS... sort of
So here it is, I found the sweet spot. :victory:
Line it up with the wiimote indention and leave about 1in at the top and about 1/3in at the bottom.
The catch?
It only stays charging while the phone is completely powered off. Leaving the phone on seems to cause it to charge intermittently... to the point that it only slows down the power drain and doesn't really charge it.
This is more than likely going beside my bed as I'm assuming that even with the power off it's going to charge ridiculously slowly.

Great info. Did you have 'DayDream' mode turned off in display settings? This mode turns on display when charging, uses alot of power and can cause overheating when inductive charging. I am using the Energizer Qi charger and have "DayDream' turned off and it works well. The standard Qi spec has 19v power supply. What are the specs on the Energizer Wii power supply.
Output is 2.8v 480mA. I tried taking it apart and messing with it too - no dice on a decent charge.

My review on this product is basically this.....
This product is amazing in every way it's described. Small, portable, lightweight, lots of energy, and can charge anything.
It comes with 2 ports to charge (can be used at the same time), and 1 port to charge the actual battery.
Can charge my iPhone more than 6 times....I have not been able to test it efficiently, but it works, and it works well!
How to describe this product....
Think of an iPhone 4 in a Otterbox. Now imagine it was a bit longer like an iPhone5. Now imagine that it looks like an iPhone, yet there isn't really a screen, it's just for looks. Now what you do is you put this charger in your pocket with your phone when it's getting low (or in the car, in a bag, purse, whatever), and than you instantly have POWER IN YOUR PANTS.
I've been questioned....why do you have a wire coming out of your pants? How are you charging your phone while walking around? What type of magic is this?
On a more serious note...everyone phone dies...everyone wishes they could charge their phone while moving, and they also wish their phones would never die. This device does that and more.
It's programmed to charge iPhones and Androids faster than normal.
It comes with a ton of connectors to charge tablets, all phones, laptops, and basically anything I can think of.
for $40...it's a steal. Buy it, you'll love it. Thank me Later ♥
My review on Amazon is very basic, and lists the only two flaws I saw....
1) The iPhone connector will unattach itself from the provided cord that comes with the device. I think the same applies for Androids, and tablets. I suggest using the standard cord your device comes with to connect to the external battery.
2) there's a lot of important attachments that come in this very small bag, and all the pieces are very small. None of them are really needed besides the USB cord to charge the battery, but I wouldn't want to lose them, and yet they are so small...I likely will. Wish there was a small zipper in the protective pouch it comes in.
Conclusion:
★★★★★/★★★★★ (A universal product that should be owned by everyone)
Cost: $25-$40...I suggest buying the largest one, simply because it's an amazing deal. I bought it for $50 not too long ago, and it can be a life saver. (Think about the shows where you get lost in the woods, and your phone dies) ^_^
Edit: basically changed my review on amazon to this. Hope that's alright with you guys.

Not quite true.
While a metal shield decreases the coupling between the primary and secondary coils, there are now wireless charging methods that work even with a metal-covered device.

There was a rumour (can't find it now) that the 6P would support Rezence, which I believe could work even with a metal-backed phone.
I don't know if that rumour has been confirmed, though.
Aww man. I've just bought a new qi charger too. I'm guessing one of the adapters should work fine though.
I just want the damn thing to work with my Air Dock. This is by far the best mounting solution for a car if you have Qi
Rather than wait for QUALCOMM with wireless charging through metal, I would rather like to see QUALCOMM or A4WP to release their Rezence standard product into the market, they have products available for the past 1-3 years, but none has made them onto the consumer market, I was offered a test sample a few year back, but I rejected it due to the contract associated with the test, I was told that because of certain reasons, that's why it was never allowed to be released on to the consumers market as of today.
Hopefully they can get their stuff out soon.

Not gonna happen - http://www.androidpolice.com/2015/0...6p-and-5x-wont-have-wireless-charging-either/ which is fine by me I never use it on my current N6
Wireless charging gets my Nexus 6 waaay too hot. Waking up to a smoking phone was the last straw. Goodbye & good riddance to inefficient charging.
It heats up a bit, but not too much. I love the convenience of just putting it down every night.
Cant believe both handsets are not getting wireless charging. I think its great, esp being able to charge your phone in a coffee shop without needing a plug and charger cable!
I use my TYLT charger to read all day in the office while I'm working. I don't understand why the lack of such a great feature. With the USB C addition it might take a while for wireless charging receivers to be available. So glad my current Nexus 6 is awesome enough to be worth keeping. Maybe the MotoX Pure might deserve a second look...

The reasoning is the device charges faster with USB-C cables is lame.
Go home set my Nexus 6 on my Qi Pad and it charges, do not really care if it charges fast.

My Nexus 6 NEVER gets hot while wirelessly charging. Its a great convenience and a big mistake not having this feature on the 6P. This is one of the reasons I cancelled my order for the 6P.

I agree and I'm keeping my order for me. I've been on M previews since day one daily driving. Once the OTA hits I'll still have a month to test and use this one and if need be I can cancel before they actually ship. If the last releases are any indicator we can probably keep it and sell for a profit. Win win
