Hi,
I have an Ingenic I95 smart watch. The specs are pretty nice but the Android version is kind of laggy. I wonder if it's possible to create a custom Android wear from source. I already download the kernel from Ingenic website and I'm in the process to download the requirement tool from android.com website.
The reason that push me so is the watch manager from Ingenic is useless and unable to install anything from a smartphone plus the Android version lag.
If someone is on the same situation as me, we can team up to build the rom.
Hi guys,
in the last few days I had a look at various type of "chinese smartwatches" mounting Android Lollipop 5.1. I'd like to buy one of them for curiosity and for trying to build some apps.
I have a question about the software: as they mount Android Lollipop and not Android wear, is there the possibility that they will be updated, I think to Android 6.0 or something like that? Or better, is there any Android wear custom ROM to flash on them? Thank you for your replies guys
Update info
The update to Android marshmallow would be possible but I do not think any manufacturer decides to do an update, the smartwatch come out with Android lollipop to recycle code and have greater compatibility with older apps.
In future it may be possible to have a custom rom with android wear but will be a long and not compatible with all Chinese devices, when I have not seen a single port on a smartwatch that runs Android 5.1

TLDR; Is there a head-unit which is developer friendly and can be flashed with a custom Android 12+ build relatively easily?
I'm looking for a head unit which I can create an Android build for. I'm familiar with making my own builds, so I know having access the BSP (or something similar) is the minimum I'll need, but a pre-configured source code tree would be great because I'm looking to add in some apps and alter some of the Android core code (e.g. SystemUI).
Does anyone know if there's a vendor, or a product, which makes this process as painless as possible?
