I am sorry as I searched the forum for this and actually found 1 hit, but it seems that thread is removed.
So I am thinking about getting the cheap T-Mobile Pulse as second device to try some Android and experiment. As it is Android it should be easy to tweak and give it ROM threatment.
But I don't know how it works here. I know my blackstone gets good attention, but all HTC phones get that over here.
So I was wondering because of the different manufacturer Huawei, will the Pulse get a seperate forum as well and would we see ROM development there, or is this device just to small?
I guess otherwise it would be smarter to wait for a bigger device, which is accessable for a wider audience.
No it wont XDA Developers is purely for HTC Devices.
Please in future post in correct sub forum.

Over the last 4 years I've used Winmo/Iphone/Webos and Android.. Winmo more than any.. but WEBOS is the clear winner to me... yes a bit lackluster in app development but it is moving along..
ANyway why no mention of Webos development.. obviously I'm ignorant in development otherwise I'd give it a stab. Webos is slick and would be fantastic on a screen this size.. plus flash 10.1... I'm sure anyone out there who owned/own a pre would agree . right? I still have mine.. just in case.
almost impossible. with nothing of webos to work from previously, you have to port everything, i mean everything, to a new platform and write new drivers from scratch. lots of work there, not saying it cant be done, but i think its very unlikely.
Yeah.. figured probably not too easy..
If Palm and Webos doesn't get scrapped.. maybe HTC will make a device for them.. only reason why I was really looking forward to the HD2 was the hardware. Or maybe the Palm Pre 2 will have a larger display.
You know I was just thinking.. A webos theme shouldn't be too difficult... just a reorganization of the sense ui could work.. probably the most difficult apsect could be the swipes for closing cards/applications. It wouldn't have to look identical.. just a similar interface. If it was similar I could imagine it being very popular. Any developers familiar with Webos think this is feasible?
nonsense
sorry guys, i have to post 10 posts in order to get into dev forum... this is a punishment for those who are not disturbing you with stupid questions but reading and finding info... this seems like dead thread so it shouldnt bother anyone.

Actually I have requested once under About XDA-developers category, but yet no reply from them. I been thinking to have a sub-forum of Omnia II Android Development like the one in HD2. This is because it is easier to browse through and also to share this big piece news with all the omnia II users over here. This also helps to prevent some XDA users to keep started out a new thread just to ask whether Android is working.
This project is a on-going project and I believe that the dev team will try their best to make this ROM completely working on our Omnia II. I think they deserved a specialised sub-forum for Android Development.

ANDROID ON OMNIA 2, check here
I think this is one example why there should be a split forum on Omnia 2 ROM development, some user just don't know about the Android development yet.
I know how badly you want the Android subforum 13ong91. And your request is STILL under consideration with our admin team. I'll see if I can get an answer ASAP, but for now, this thread is pointless.

@all moderators
due to the high number of new threads about new roms and other and due to the high number of discontinued roms and thread, I want to propose a new rule: all owner of rom/thread that decide to stop relasing, support or other must write at the beginning of the thread title "discontinued since...." and the date of that communication.
With this, all the people that want news, support, new relase or other, doesn't lose time in writing question and waiting for never coming answare and chefs and others don't lose time to answare about something they don't want more...

Or better chnage the title of the thread like [discontinued]
Then you can see inthe thread list what roms are still in progress and not.
Cheers

Some people do the right thing - for example: capychimp [EOL] or m-deejay [Discontinued]. (2 quick examples)
It is a good idea. I posted this thread fairly recently to hopefully tidy things up from my end. (I like to keep an up-to-date list on my site, which I check a few times a day.)

Good suggestion. I sometime feel lost searching for the threads here
Rules are good but what about all the other rules on this forum that are broken every day. Look how many application questions are in the general and questions section. How about how many times somebody asks what's the best ROM? Or somebody asks should I change/upgrade phones. The forum is loaded with NOOB questions that have no place in this forum to begin with. How can you even begin to search when the forum is flooded with threads such as these?
But yet you can go to the development section and within 5 minutes browse through the first few pages and get all the info you need about ROMS. Open the thread up and see when the thread was last updated by the developer. Even if the developer has not updated lately there still are others that help and add to the ROMS.
I guess what I am trying to say is why keep putting all the rules and regulations on the developers when it is the noobs causing this forum to be so unsearchable.
So guys as we all know that HTC will release "M8" again with same specs but now with Windows OS .
So will it be possible to run it on normal M8(Android OS) ?
Not a window OS fan but i think htc will add some tweaks to make OS much more useful .. :fingers-crossed:
Nobody knows until they announce it. Been asked a million times already.

Thread closed,
Thread has been closed as this is still classed as OT at the minute as there is no actual information if Windows 8 will be released for the M8. If it is it will likely be a different phone as I can't see the hardware / bootloader being compatible with it.
Remember to search before posting. There have been a few of these threads closed already.
Many thanks
