Sprint Pre-Order Question - Samsung Galaxy S7 Edge Questions and Answers

I just got home from the Sprint store and pre-ordered my S7 edge. Does anybody know if the early pre-order arrivals are also occurring for the in-store option as well? The employees in store seemed to be unsure but they said it'd probably be on the normal release date (which is fine with me).
I'm coming from the S5 so I'm excited for the large battery. Although...I do wish they had gone with a replaceable battery - it will be tough to get used to not being able to swap out batteries on a moments notice. I have two lines with Sprint, though so I'll keep my S5 active on the other line
Hoping to get active again on XDA after a few years of absence.

This is the most recent update via my order number, yesterday it said it would have started shipping then but it changed to the 1st.
As of speaking with Sprint this morning 3/2 I got 3 different shipping expected dates.... 11th then the 7th then after speaking with 2 superiors due to my situation they said 2-5 from the first for the inital pre-orders. So essentially not till the 7-8 to start receiving devices.

Haven't got the phone yet. Last week it said both would ship the 7th. VR stayed the same but they bumped up the date for the phone... Poor Verizon guys are getting end of month dates now.

That's strange, I got my VR like 3 days after I placed the order. Yeah it sucks to be them!!!

Same here did it around 8am, I got the order confirmation, then I got a ups notification package in route for delivery.

I got an email confirmation but my order number returns no result. Probably because it's an order via the brick and mortar store. It starts with "OE_ORDER_HEADERS_ALL" before a number after that. Doesn't return a good result on the Sprint website.
EDIT: I also note that my order doesn't have any mention of the Gear VR despite the rep in store telling me I'd receive it. I realllllly hoping this is all because it's an instore order instead of a pure online order. Does anybody know if the retail stores carry stock of the Gear VR in general?

Mine just changed until next week. Bummer.

Yeah mine says today what it said a week ago. Yesterday said it would ship 3/1. Today says 3/7.
Power struggle, some PR guy said get them out! Keep up with t mobile. Some other douche decided no and reversed the order

I wonder if there's going to be shortages with this. Should be a really popular phone release overall. Would not surprise me if some of us don't see them until closer to the end of the month. I'm hoping this is not true but we shall see.

I'm not sure I ordered mine on the 23rd and the order status has constantly changed , first it was all orders placed before 10pm central 2/29 would ship on the 2/29 then it said that orders placed before 10am central time on 3/1 would ship within 2-5 days and after 10 am they would ship the 3/7 and now it says that it wont ship till 3/7. I'll see what i can get from the live chat associate , if i don't have luck ill call and see what i can get for us. Ill post back as soon as i am done.

Another update from my end - store rep, manager AND the SprintCare Twitter team got my VR issue resolved and had that ordered as well. Now I need to see if I can view order status online!

It really does but what gets me is that be said orders where shipped out was i not early enough to order it on the 23rd ? Or are they placed randomly ?

My rep just called me and said not to expect it before the actual release. But he won't be in and apparently it needs to be him so I won't get it until Saturday (after the 11th)

I got a shipping notification! This is for my actual phone and not the Gear VR yet. Now the question becomes whether the Sprint store will actually let me have it ahead of the "official" release. It sounded like they were going to hold pre-orders from being released to customers until the actual release date. I might give them a ring once my phone is actually delivered to the store to argue that online pre-orders are already going to customers.

Anyone receive their Atrix yet?

I got a call from At&T about a problem porting my number from Verizon (yes I am making the switch back). I mentioned they could not port yet as I don't have a phone because it is on pre-order. Cust Service said that I would be receiving it in a couple of days. I got the call yesterday so i am hoping to have my shiny new Atrix tomorrow or the next day.
Could be Cust Service has no idea what they are talking about but you can only hope
If that is the case I might pre order through att instead of best buy then...

Hello everyone. I'm new to this section of XDA - I've had a Captivate for some time (4 of them actually) and have been quite dissapointed at times with it. Overall a great phone, but lots of un-necessary issues (imo) I just pre-ordered the Atrix 4G today and was told I could recieve it within the next 7-10 days at the soonest... I really cant wait to see what the devs here on XDA will cook up for this killer phone (based on specs). If the dev support is anything at all like it is for the Captivate - this is gonna be a great ride with the Atrix 4G
I am hoping we get alot of captivate devs to switch. I know there is a good chance that the bootloader will be encrypted, and that might keep the ROM chefs away, but I really hope we find away around it. i am going to be submitting as much of my capabilities to the effort, but I am new to android. I have done a small amount of program development on iOS with jailbreaks. so hopefully I can help.
Also, as I have said before, Devs are the lifeblood of these phones, and I am willing to put my money out there as a substitute for my experience. I am willing to help any motivated devs by donating $20-$40. Hopefully we can get a rich community surrounding the phone. that way when i am still using it 18 months down the road, I will still be happy with it.
I didn't get that email at all and I preordered on Sunday morning when the preorder option first popped up. I did get my confirmation email right after preordering and another email today ( 17th) , but not the one you have. Am I still going to get my atrix on the 22nd? Or did something get messed up?

i called att and they said that everyone that pre-ordered the phone will get it on monday the 21st. so 4 days from now.
they said the phone will be available in stores on 22nd.

I freaking hope so...it's my birthday! lol
I just received shipped email and it is showing delivery by 3pm on 2/21.
When I did the checkout on the AT&T site it told me it's scheduled to be delivered on or before March 6th... if people are getting them as early as the 21 or 22 I sure as hell hope mine arrives around that time as well.

I'd be seriously pissed if FedEx left it on the porch without signature and it got stolen after waiting for this phone. Good thing it's a holiday and I'm working from home all day!
I opted to have mine shipped to the att store - just incase i wouldnt be home when FedEx showed up. This way i dont have to worry about it being left on the front step and sitting there

You know, I was looking for that option and didn't see anything about it. Where was this option during online pre-ordering to have it shipped to a specific store? Maybe next time I pre-order I'll be able to do this.

I didn't see it either. But most likely, you could simply call after placing the order, and have the CSR make the change for you.

Yes All orders through clove for the phone received the email. I think they are actually giving a realistic time frame for their dispatch.
If the stock arrives late 3rd May they are making sure they are out by the 4th. Handtec have stated stock arriving the 3rd and sending the same day.
I believe Clove are just covering their bases and making sure they don't promise something they wont deliver on.

and clove origionally said they would send theirs out on the 2nd.. so did something change? or did they always plan to send it out later? do you think theyll send out on the 2nd or this new date?
clove had said 3rd may initially ... or atleast when i pre ordered i think 2 weeks ago. now they say 4-6th. handtec originally said theyll get by 28 and ship by 29th BUT suddenly just changed all that on their website. didn't notify anyone either so after that I just decided to stick to clove cause they're always updating. anytime they get new info on the phone they would send an email asking if i want to still buy the phone or cancel. For example with the NFC not being included and such. they cost about 15 pounds more but have better service. that's how it usually is... smaller companies (clove) have better service cause each customer matters much more while larger companies (handtec) arent that good on service cause they dont care all too much if they lose 1 customer.
I also got that email today in the afternoon.
i hope handtec will finally ship on tuesday........

This morning, I see this on my fedex tacking info Clearance delay. It made me a little nervous so I called fedex, askd the lady what this is about, she tells me. So i have to give a description of my Samsung galaxy box so they can identify it, and get its on its way. Good thing I found this early to minimize any more delay I hope?. Anyways Whats everyones experience with a "Clearance delay"If you have ever run into it . Did it slow everything down, delay your shipping. or not have much effect.

I also have a clearance delay in Memphis...what information did you provide for the box description? Has your tracking information changed yet?
EDIT: Just called fedex and they said the package is en route to my zip code and will be here at the scheduled time...so I guess its just not updating the tracking information online.

Just talked to a rep. They said it was delayed in customs so I gave them some information and they said they would call back to let me know the package is on its way...So in response to your question, the automated system is not accurate.
OK. I had to fill out some forums that Fed ex emailed to me, then scan them and send them back! What a pain. Now i will be getting the package tomorrow rather then today. Booooooooooooooooooo anyways If you have a sg2 come check your tracking often so you dont have to wate any longer then u have allready
Funny when i called FedEx they said they received the forms needed from the SHIPPER (handtec) and dint ask me to fill out any form.
They said they hope it will get released today for tomorrow's shipping.
I can't believe handtec does not know they need to fill out customs forms when shipping internationally.

I use to work for fedex express. Putting a description on the outside would be a bad idea. People would help themselves to a five finger discount.
I submitted the forms, but the tracking page status still shows "clearance delay". Did anyone have their status updated?
I'm hoping I can at least get the phone tomorrow... With all this hassle it almost makes me regret buying this phone from abroad (especially since it looks like the official US version may be shipping this month or next).

Mine is the same way. I verified all paperwork this morning around 10AM CST. I suspect they will all get approved in a batch. Not to worry, we'll be playing with our shiny new toys tomorrow!
Edit: I just got the following reply from the Customs Agent with FedEx when I asked why the status hadn't changed at all.
The package status will not change until early tomorrow morning. You can check the website in the morning to see if it is out for delivery.
My status just got updated to Int'l shipment release. Finally some good news today!

Mine has also changed from clearance delay to Int'l shipment release. I hope they will ship it out tonight.
I called a rep about this and she told me that fedex has overnight delivery on this shipment so *cross fingers*
i may have helped you all.. my agent stated they didnt have the fcc release forms from handtec so i found the fcc id picture. and the online fcc form filed them out this morning and emailed scans in to fedex to the specific release agent.. called later and they said they now had all the paperwork they need.

DIRECT ORDER FROM HUAWEI issues or nah?

How is your experience with HUAWEI? similar to mine , any issues?

ok..so I ordered my phone through huawei(10/5/2015). I used the financing company through their website called Affirm.
I received all the confirmation emails from both huawei and affirm about my order and registration with Huawei.
here is where the "Fun" comes in:
I tried to login to the Huawei website this morning 10/6 to see if the status was updated(I have no patience)
and ...My account does not exist!!! so after chatting with a representative online they cannot find any of my information, no account registered, nothing!! However I can log onto the Affirm account and see when my payments are due!!! I have emails and phone calls back and forth from them they still have not resolved. Really sucks!
as of 10/8 I have received what looks to be a generic email saying that states I will get my phone??
I know i posted this in waiting for shipping but wanted to see direct order huawei only ..sorry

My experience while a little different, is still very similar to yours. I ordered on 9/30 and subsequently received a confirmation email with receipt. The next day, Huawei did debit my credit card.
But, when I login to my Huawei account, it shows nothing in "my orders". I emailed their customer service about this on 10/4 and received an automatic response with a ticket number, but have heard nothing back.
I'd have to say that this really isn't a big deal. We'll see how they do when it's time to start shipping product.
But I would have to say that their customer support is less than stellar, so far.
@cam30era they have emailed me to basically tell me the same thing that the generic email says.
I am going to just wait it out and see if i get it. However they did say that shipments are delayed but could not tell me when.

I don't see the benefit of ordering direct from them unless you don't want the play store money, don't want the insurance, possible tax free, and want a less reliable information service as far as shipping.
The only benefit to me would be tax free, but I wanted the insurance and easier RMA process.

Yup, you identified all the reasons. 7% better in my pocket.
I ordered using affirm also. So far for me though all has been smooth. I'm able to log into the huawei website and see my order just fine

I am very careful with my phones(*knocks on wood) .. and cant shell out $600 at the moment. so i chose to do the financing. as far as shipping and reliability of huawei .. it is questionable at the moment.. hopefully they make good on it.
I ordered from them on the 5th as well and all has been good so far. I ordered from affirm as well and everything seems to be good. Order shows as processing in my orders and the affirm charge went through..now I wait...

I just got off a "chat" with Huawei. They basically reconfirmed the same information. The first orders will ship in early November.
I ordered the day after release and on the site it said shipping late october and then was switched to early november a few days later. I also spoke with a chat representative and asked how the google store orders and direct orders shipping times would differ and was told that they will actually both ship at the same time as the schedules would be the same but asked if they came from the same stock and was told that there would be seperate stocks? Not sure how it will all work out but I am really hoping that the chat representatives were just told early november but will actually ship earlier.
I'd say it is very likely the chat rep doesn't know a damn thing about shipping schedules or if Google pulls from the same stock or not. I wouldn't be surprised if these things don't ship until november or if they ship a week or two early. I doubt any first line CS Rep has a damn clue other than possibly some generic date and would be the very last person to get an updated date or information.
i guess we will compare with others once people start getting tracking #'s or receiving their devices! If any of you get updates please post!:highfive:

I orderd through them to save the near $50 on Massachusetts tax, I orderd the Thursday and the money was taken out yesterday. So far so good for me no issues as of today.

When I preordered I got a confirmation that it will be available for me on the 19th and if I don't pick it up it'll be returned to stock. I placed the order around 3am on the 3rd.

I pre-ordered mine at 2 stores.
The first store called me Thursday, left a message saying it would most likely be in Friday morning. I was on the "waitlist"
I called them Friday afternoon when I had not heard anything.
They said no Blacks, maybe some in Saturday and I was number 3 on the waitlist.
Bummed...
Later that afternoon, I was curious why I had heard nothing from the other pre-order, waitlist deal.
Called them up and asked, "did you get any note 7's"?
They said yes
I asked, "got any Blacks"?
They said yes
I asked why didn't you call me?
They checked their list, found my name and she said, I was going to, I'm by myself.
I go over there, they ain't doin' Jack, it's like a Ghost town.
I say call a few stores...
I walked out with mine yesterday.
i signed up for the wait list and got a call yesterday that someone backed out of an order and
one was available. i was there in 10 minutes my first choice was Coral Blue but the one they
had was silver/chrome, i can live with it.
I pre-ordered mine on the first day. I got a confirmation and everything. Then on the 19th, I got the same email as mentioned above. On the 20th associate called and told me that the it would be delayed for at least few weeks. On the 21st late in afternoon, they called and told me my Note 7 is ready for me. I told him, it is too late. I went pick up from elsewhere. Sam is suck!!! I would not do this with them again.
