I've been thinking about rooting my G2 for bluetooth sixaxis support but intend on updating too kitkat when it is released.
I'm aware I would loose my root access but will I be able to update OTA once the update arrives? Or will restoring the phone be required?

As mentioned a zillion times, accepting OTA with root or custom recovery is a one way street to Bricksville

Not really. I'm rooted and have tried to take Sprint's OTA a couple times. It just seems to fail and reboots normally, no changes.

Don't encourage people to do things which are known to cause problems.
I would root and flash a stock based ROM. After kitkat is released someone will make a new ROM from the update.

So after rooting there's no way to go back to entirely stock LG ROM for OTAS in the future?

Restore stock recovery should do it.
Remember kids, back up your EFS. FreeGee can do it, TWRP can as well.

Perhaps not advisable just in case.......however, if you are completely stock including stock recovery but you have rooted you can install an ota successfully. At least it worked for me. I received an ota notice whilst on 10a (and whilst very drunk) and whilst rooted stock and it updated successfully to 10f. Also, my root was still in tact.
I wouldn't advise to try this until it has been clarified by someone of greater knowledge than myself however. At the moment, many are of the opinion that this may brick your device. If I had have been sober, I wouldn't have tried this and it may just be the case that I have been lucky.

Taking the OTA when rooted is fine as long as you have the stock recovery. If you have twrp or cwm then it's bootloop time where you just boot to recovery. If that happens and you have access to adb you can delete the fota and it'll boot normally again.
Ok.
Then,i can root, maintaning stock recovery and i can receive ota without problems or bootloop after update.
You confirm?

I'm not encouraging it. Simply stating the fact that it's not a guaranteed brick if you're just rooted.
I recently tried to install marshmallow on my phone following the guide in the dev section but I was unable to get my phone to work so I used fastboot to flash NON-HLOS.bin to restore my phone back to 5.1.1 and now I don't have any signal and wifi wont turn on. Does anyone have any ideas on how I can fix this?
Thanks
I fixed this by booting to fastboot and using this command:
fastboot flash modem NON-HLOS.bin
im having wifi issues but still get service

Then try to reinstall system with wipe. If it doesn't help you need to send device to warranty repair.

this one

Yes, but things like VOLTE and wifi calling may not work. You can flash XSA CSC afterwards to get those working. I don't think it is worth the effort/ potential risk imho. There is little to be gained. Don't forget to backup if you decide to do it though.

I need to try the new update soon as possible as I have an issue with the update of July, as many others have, here the details:
https://www.reddit.com/r/GalaxyS7/comments/6i85t3/phone_restarts_randomly_when_in_airplane_mode/
hopefully with the august one the problem will be solved.
so there's no compatibility issue to do it? just flash it with Odin?

Hmmm, never heard of or had that problem - I'm on July.
Yeah, man, it should work. As long as you have G935F (which you must have to have XSA). My phone is running neither the firmware, nor the CSC that I bought it with. There is the (potential?) carrier compatibility issue that I mentioned earlier as ur CSC will change - however easily fixed. Otherwise shouldn't be any compatibility issues.
If ur rooted, you may as well flash a ROM on TWRP while ur at it though?
The usual disclaimer is that I can't guarantee you that nothing will go wrong as there are always theoretical risks. I also never made you do it. Remember to back up first

Following this guide:
https://forum.xda-developers.com/galaxy-s8/how-to/discussion-oreo-final-t3746561/page1.
It works only for Exynos version.

Yes you can. If you're running stock then flash SuperSU if you would like TWRP to be able to mount \data. Otherwise Magisk works fine too.

Yes, I know. I come from Renovate Ice Custom rom so my knox is already tripped. I'd like to know what version of TWRP I should flash or if I need to wait a newer version to be released.. I've looked for around but I can't find anything.

Oreo bootloader (v3) block motherboard. You never can root your phone, never. If you try to put twpr you make a hard brick. Forget to root your phone for the rest.

After I upgraded to CRAP via Odin twrp 3.2.1-0 is unable to mount data. Any idea why?

Your's is probably because you were on stock already for 7+ days see post #41 here https://forum.xda-developers.com/galaxy-s8+/how-to/guide-how-to-flash-crap-using-odin-t3748555/page5
Did you install no verity zip? after you flash you need to format data
Read this carefully & follow exactly or you will lose your stock install https://forum.xda-developers.com/galaxy-s8/samsung-galaxy-s8--s8-cross-device-development/recovery-twrp-galaxy-s8-exynos-t3595102

No its fine. You said you did a backup yes? if so that means everything is working, don't worry about the mount options after that, they auto mount when you need them
