Dell Venue 8 Pro Dual-Boot Windows/Android? - Windows 10, 8, 7, XP etc.

I have a Dell Venue 8 Pro and I'm wondering if it would be possible to dual-boot Windows 10 and Android? It's running Windows 10 now. I ask because I know that the Dell Venue 8 runs Android native.

Hey venue 8 and venue 8pro are a whole different devices you won't be able to run the android in dell venue 8. But don't worry I have got you covered.
Venue 8 pro is x86. So remix os and phoenix os will work
These os are made for PC. Both of them are in beta version, so you will face errors. Still give it a try. For more info pm me.

Just look at the minimum system requirements and if your laptop meets them, then go ahead and try it. I installed Windows 8 on my crusty old Presario, which has a really old Celeron processor, and Win 8 still ran despite a little lag of graphics!
I'm running windows 8 on my inspiron dou and its running great

Dell Venue q/a

Hi;
I have lurked this forum since the HTC apache days. I understand this is a windows 8 forum, however my question, or thought is regarding installing windows 8 on a tablet that runs android. Now before I get chased out with a broom. Hear me out, this particular tablet runs an intel atom cpu and has 2gb of ram. Makes it perfect for windows 8 and it has a good form factor. The two tablets I have in mind are the Dell Venue 7 and Dell Venue 8 which come loaded with android 4.2.2 if im not mistaken. They seem like a bargain at this point. After reading some reviews they are built nicely and have some impressive specs. Amazing what you can get for under 200bux these days. Now again before I get chased out the room, I love android, however I feel windows 8 would fit my needs much better in the long run. These tablets have better specs than my old netbook running windows 7 on it and that machine is still going strong for me, now running mint linux.
Anyone here exploited the boot loader on these tablets yet? I would love to test one of these with windows 8 on them. It looks like I may purchase two Venue 7's today (one for me and one for the wife), they have similar specs to venue pros offered by dell at double the price.
Thank you.

I know nothing about the device in question, but my chance have you tried an OTG cable and a keyboard? I assume that if it is an X86 it may have a BIOS.
The existing x86 android devices have all had locked out bootloaders preventing boot of anything but android

Well, that answers it. Looks like maybe a way to hack it out would be cool.

Dell Venue 8 Pro Android

Hi!
I saw this video http://youtu.be/1WrRngZ4giE . And there is my question: is it possible to boot Android x86 on Dell Venue 8 Pro from pendrive?
thanks!
I tried BlueStacks and Genymotion but performance was poor. It will be great if you provide tutorial how to boot android from pendrive.
You need to get into the bios and disable secure boot. Hold the volume down key while booting.

That might help! Didn't know you could boot into BIOS on Windows 8 Tablets.

its only the clovertrail and ARM ones that have such restrictions. The venue 8 pro is baytrail so has a full PC BIOS.
You might also know thay many have dove into this and find what they get isn't very useful.

It's not a BIOS as we've known for the past decades of x86 CPUs.
It's an EFI. A 32 Bit EFI to be precise.
Which is unfortounate, because 32 Bit EFI has not been used since the first generation of x86 Apple Macs, IIRC. PCs usually use 64 Bit EFI and there are not many options, that play well with it. IIRC it's only WIndows 8(.1) and OSX 10.something
Hello guys,
here is a Thread in the DELL Support Forum to request a 64bit uefi.
The old 32bit uefi is the problem, if the uefi is switched to 64bit, we could use the Android Rom from https://01.org/android-ia (for bay trail).
More users, more priority on dell side. Please request the update too, and make the thread public!
