From the first moment I started the phone and booted up Voice, I've had some small issues. I'm posting here to see if anyone else has had similar issues.
When I was setting up Voice I received a message that the "forwarding number change [was] unsuccessful". I haven't noticed any particular issues resulting from this, but still, it was disconcerting. You can check to see of you have the same issue by going to Settings > Call Settings > Voicemail Settings (if you are using voice) > and then click on your phone number.
The second issue is that the ringtone is stuck as the defualt beeping noise that the phone makes on shutdown... This is when people call me on my voice number. Ringtones for contacts calling my AT&T number are working fine.
I'd love to hear if anyone else is experiencing this, and especially if you found a fix!
Thanks.

Yeah, I forgot about that--I got a voicemail notification 2 hours after the phone call yesterday. An outgoing SMS froze too.

did you go to google.com/voice from a PC and change your settings there? When I first got my Atrix, the Google Voice was set up for my Nexus One and didn't work (even after configuring) on my Atrix. So I had to tell it I had a different phone, it gave me a number with hash symbols (#) to punch in the dialer and hit "call". this then forwarded my number to google voice for use with voicemails. I now have no issues with Google Voice... well, I have one issue. The proximity sensor doesn't turn off the screen when I put the phone up to my ear to listen to a voicemail like it did on my Nexus One.
I ran into the same issue when setting up about the number unsuccessful, but I went into phone options in settings and manually changed the carrier. I havent had any other issues, all notifications are instant and I have a custom ringtone.

It's amazing! It's the best way to get Visual Voicemail on an Android device and it's free. To be honest if it wasn't for this app, I would have stayed with my iphone as giving up visual voicemail was a no go for me and the other apps on the market for it were not to my liking.
Once you set it, it will alert you when a voicemail comes in and also transcribe it for you. Aside from that you can even have it send an e-mail to you when voicemail comes in, you can also use voice to make calls, send texts, and much more. Best of all, it's free!
@OP: Mine did the same thing, but I haven't had any issues. If you are getting delays in the notifications, load up google voice and go to settings. From settings make sure "synchronize inbox" and "background data" are enabled.
So I got it but it keeps saying forward voice mail unsucsesful any ideas

Thanks--this is the answer. I too came from a Nexus One and I didn't change any of the settings at first. I had to delete my old forwarding number (which requires another forwarding number to be on the profile), and then make a new forwarding number profile (for my Atrix). This fixed my different ringtone issue as well. Took a few tries and wasn't as smooth as I would have liked, but I got it working--I wasn't doing well without my GV!!
Im routing my calls through voice but every once in a while a lady says "this call is now being recorded". I didn't hit anything. It seems random. Any ideas?
You will have noticed that there are a couple of glaring issues. Voicemail notifications don't make it out of the app to anywhere in the phone (like the notifications bar). In the call log, outgoing calls get recorded as the Google bridge number instead of the number you dialed.
Please call Samsung. Inevitably the first layer of support won't be able to do anything so ask for 'Advanced technical support'. They obviously won't be able to offer a solution either, so ask them to submit a feedback ticket. If they receive enough of these, they will look into it with Google.
Happened to me the first couple days I had my phone. Did a reset and it cleared up the notification issue with Google Voice for me though. I've heard of others who got theirs on launch day have the same issue i'm guessing something to do with the activation servers being slammed.
What did you reset?

Just did a factory reset in settings.
I had a problem installing Google Voice at first too. An error pops up when it gets to the part where you configure your phone's voicemail setting. I just backed out of the app and restarted my phone. It's working fine now after the restart.
I got the voicemail notifications working by going back to 0.4.2.34.
Do outgoing calls show up incorrectly for both of you in the call log?
Google Voice is very very well integrated in stock ICS from what I've seen and confirmed to be working in CM9 already. As a new Android user without having used stock ICS I think I prefer some things in TW better so I wanted to get this working. Hopefully stock ICS and CM9 will be as good as users here rave about since that'll solve all the GV issues completely.

It's always been like that, you must be new!
I only use google voice for voicemail, and I had no problems with it.

it's not like that on my HTC One XL; the contact/number i called shows up in the call log and i can redial from the call log. with my SGS 3, the bridge number appears in the call log and is unassociated with the contact/number dialed. for me, that's not good because i use my GV number as a biz contact number. and what's the deal with the email client... whoops! sorry, that's for another thread!
Wait, I'm lost.
I thought Verizon disables Voice. I can't make it work for voicemail. Same with my last 3 Verizon phones .
Google voice working well here too

I also have the bridge number in call log issue and this did NOT happen on the Galaxy S II.
An hoping that it's a Google voice bug rather than a bug in the T-Mobile version of ICS.

Works fine on my Sprint version. Only problem I'm having is voicemail won't integrate with the call log like it did on CM9.
Hey guys, just came to the S4 from the One and still figuring some things out. Whenever I make a call [using the morst horrendous dialer ever seen on android], a small popup happens that says "conditional call forwarding active"... anyone know what that's about?
wow if you are flasher, don't tell torxx you switched--lol jk, we go back a long way and sent him beer money
that says your call will be forwarded if you are on phone call
if you go to call forward settings and select always forward, i think it will go to unconditional
there use to be a code on some phones to disable message--something like--##???--i don't remember and don't know what if anything works on s4--maybe google
the dialer will grow on you--i think--
welcome to the S4 MetalHead
If I set it to always forward, will it ALWAYS forward? Ie. will I not receive any calls then? It seems weird to me that you get a popup for what seems to be normal operation on any other phone. If I turn off all the options, will no one ever get my voicemail?
I used to be a flashaholic, nowadays I just find one ROM and stick to it. CleanROM was my goto on the One X and the One. I have the Active so there's nothing available for it yet, not even root I think. I know scrosler is over here now, hopefully he'll branch out and make us Active users a ROM.
I don't know if that dialer will ever work for me. Between the white and the big, colorful childish buttons when the call ends, and kiddie faces when there's no contact picture, it really takes away from the overall badass-ness of the device. I'm sure once we get ROMs, somebody will do something about those atrocities haha. I still love the phone, and in no way will I let those things piss me off to the point of annoyance. I barely talk on the phone anyway so it's not like I'm gonna be staring at it all the time.
yeah the message will be there unless I can remember where i saw the dialer code to disable it
right, we don't want to just disable call forwarding--it is annoying though because i get a sound with it too. assume they go together, but not looking at screen when i call
no custom roms yet. enjoying just the phone rooted with twrp
am sure one or two of the roms will get rid of stock dialer, just haven't looked close at them yet
If you are using google voice for voicemail you will see this conditional call forwarding is enable to make this work.
The conditions are: no answer, line busy, and call rejected. In these cases your phone forwards to google voice.
I don't use Google Voice. It is not set up.

It could be how normal VM works. It forwards to vm for the same reasons. Easy to check under phone forwarding settings.
I never had it on TMO, may be an ATT thing. I think only way to stop it is disable call forwarding or make it unconditional which still may show a message. Most people don't want to disable call forwarding. I am sure there is a code to disable, haven't had time to research it. But, I am kinda use to it now and no big deal.
I just wish there was a way to get rid of it without affecting normal voice mail operation. My One never had it, my One X didn't have it, nor any Android phone I've ever had. It's weird.

This is 2008 Blackberry but att so don't know what it would do if anything now
I would think if it screws things up ATT could reset your voicemail
I guess you could also write down the number to replug back in if it screws up
I will just ignore or maybe call att voice services when I get a chance

I know on my corporate phone - AT&T screwed this up - work added some features, one was Visual Voicemail and this disabled conditional call forwarding. Maybe you can add Visual Voicemail - the AT&T variety, and then get rid of the alert. They may charge for it though.
Perhaps one of the roms can give the option on nixing that.. It is annoying

Google Voice not working from G2 call logs. Anyone else notice this? It shows I have a voice-mail in the phone's call logs but it won't play. Hitting the log does nothing. Can go into GV and hear the message so that seems to be working but it doesn't work like my Gnexus did. Anyone have thoughts or a fix for this?
It's not working right for me either. I kept hoping I would find a setting somewhere but I haven't yet.
Yep. I'm seeing problems too. Sometimes phone rings on an incoming GV number call but most of the time not. This is potentially a deal breaker. I only use GV. Any solutions greatly appreciated!

Try an older version. I wish i could comment on if this works, but i can't get my phone to access google voicemail settings. I recently resubmitted my resume online and i've had 5 calls come in this past weekend on my phone. None have not rung.

Ok. Did that. I tried it a few times today. Rang no problem. I do not get any indication in the recent history of a voice mail but i can swipe notification bar and click on the vm and it opens in voice. Will mess around some more.
My phone rings and it shows in the recent calls notification list. It just won't play the message from that list. I have to open the voice app to listen to the message. I just wish it was more like my Galaxy Nexus but this is probably due to LGs Android tweaks.
I never even look for VM in call log, just quicker, and easier for me to click the notification ....

I reverted to an older version of 0.4.2.54 frin 0.4.2.82 and still am having issues with ringing on an incoming call to my GV number It will ring about 5 our of 7 or so times, but when it doesn't ring, there is no notification of a missed call, not even from GV. I have to go to the Missed call folder on GV to discover the missed call. If someone does leave a message, I do get my notification of the voice message.
This reminds me of the problems I had on my old Droid X with GV and the stock VZ Motorola ROM on that phone. My last phone a Gnex running stock AOSP never had an issue with GV. I suspect that this has something to do with LG's phone/dialer app interacting with GV....
I am also running lightflow for notification, but that shouldn't have any impact on just having the damn phone ring on an incoming call.
Update.
I allowed the OTA and changed Lightflow to not run in the foreground and since haven't had further problems with GV ringing phone on incoming calls?
Not sure what fixed it.

I have a similar problem, i can't make calls to certain numbers with gv. Nothing seems to fix it. It's definitely the g2, i switched my sim back to my nexus and gv works fine.
I was having the same issue. I deactivated it and activated it, and that seemed to solve the issue. On at&t you dial ##004# and hit send to deactivate it. To reactivate you dial **004*1(your gv number)# without the parenthesis and hit send.
Using G975F Exynos, every now and then I am getting Call Not Sent error when I am trying to make a call. I can't pin point specifics that happen right before that, other than I think that the phone is playing something in the background (stream) or something like that. I try to dial from an address book and immediately the call drops and the above error shows up at the bottom. I may see (again - not scientific, but I think I noticed that occasionally) a difference between dialing from favorite contact - that is pressing the green phone icon in a favorite contact right at the top when you open the contact - vs dialing from the contact when you scroll down to see all the contact's numbers (does it make sense?!).
I would like to emphasize:
1. I don't always get this error, hence why I can't really put a finger as to what transpires right before that.
2.. It happens also when I manually dial, not just from address book.
As spoon as this happens, I see a white icon on the top that says something to the extent of "Voice is working in the background". It lasts a few seconds then disappears. Sometimes I am able to dial right after it disappears, other times I need to wait a few minutes until the phone is "ready" to make the call (no indication of when this happens, it's just a simply trial and error).
Anyone else experience this?
Thanks.
No one else has this issue?!
This is what I see in Voice when I get Call Not Sent. It can lasts from seconds to over a minute where I cannot make any call.
No one?!

Looks like it's a new issue nobody had before i'll put in my 10 cents and say that your app is somehow tied to something else and hence (Busy) and unable to dial i think you're on the right track. I would go into your list of apps i find out which app has the ability to make calls like Viber, fb messenger, skype and disable one by one to find out which one is doing it. Look for that icon you see in that screenshot you posted it doesn't look like a default dialer app icon to me.

It looks to me as the Google Voice app, but I don't necessarily call using GV when I am getting this error (meaning - the last call before starting getting Call Not Sent is not necessarily made using GV but rather the standard, mobile dialer).

Some voice dialers do have the option to set as default it might be causing a conflict disable it or uninstall it and see if the issue persists.
So it has been determined that this issue is happening when I try to dial when a BT headset is connected to the phone. It happens with two different BT headsets (different manufacturer and different types), and it may happen in the first call after turning the BT on or in a repeat call, either to the same number or a different number.
No one else with G975F or other S10+ is experiencing this issue?
Anyone? Is no one else having this issue of CALL NOT SENT when re-dialing with a BT headset connected?
Bump
Still looking for solution. I can't my phone is the only one that refuses to dial/redial when a BT is connected. Anyone?
