You can try Philz Touch (CWM): http://forum.xda-developers.com/tab-4/development/recovery-philz-smnu-t2980094
If that doesn't work for you, I'd recommend trying to use FlashFire to install CM12.1: http://forum.xda-developers.com/general/paid-software/flashfire-t3075433
Any custom recovery is going to show that seandroid notification, that's not an error. And I may be wrong, but I'm pretty sure any custom recovery will trip the KNOX flag, as will any cyanogenmod rom

1. On what ROM are you?
2. What's stopping you from flashing via odin/heimdall?

If it only appears when u boot in recovery is the normal coz u changed the STOCK recovery for this custom one. If u flash other KERNEL the logo appears when u boot the phone. Anyway now u can flash KERNEL/ROM that u prefer
Recovery is not seandroid enforcing Knox set to 0x1
Hi guys, Just had the same messages on booting : KERNEL/RECOVERY IS NOT SEANDROID ENFORCING and Knox set to 0x1
First, DO NOT FLASH OLDER ANDROID VERSION (4.2.2 / 4.1.2) OVER THE ANDROID 4.3 UPDATE
If ever its done already and you need to Unbrick your samsung device, read the following post to restore :
Just had the same messages on booting : KERNEL/RECOVERY IS NOT SEANDROID ENFORCING and Knox set to 0x1
just after I flashed 4.2.2 based Custom Rom using an OTG cable/FlashDrive over Android 4.3 Stock and/or Custom Roms.
I had these at boot in red and yellow : Warranty void and Knox set to 0x1. But in About device, Android version went from 4.3 to 4.2.2 then i tryied some different custom kernels but nothing to do, wifi keeps crashing plus i had these bootup messages. I did FULLY wipe/restore the device to stock android 4.3 on my SGH-I337M phone using odinv3.09 and I337MVLUEMK6_I337MOYAEMK6_I337MVLUEMK6_HOME.tar.md5
file and it worked after something like the 3rd try, why the importance to FULLY wipe system, data, dalvik cache, cache using a custom Recovery before starting the restore
I dont recommend to flash older android version over The update 4.3. It was such a waste of time to restore it!
Just saying, if you guys had the same issue, your phone ISNT bricked, It took me around 15 hours to find and download Odin and Samsung stock 4.3 firmware plus ReRoot and flash it with odin... ive used my OTG cable to flash kernels or to restore from backups and now, my phone
is FIXED :good:
Hi:
I have flashed a ROM stock 4 files and file. Pit by Odin, and leave it as factory. I did not root. After I installed CWM recovery for Odin and then Philz Recovery. Finally I flashed the latest nightly for recovery of CM. I checked after it was root. I Do not flash CF-root or anything.
What did root? CWM, phliZ or CM ROM?
Nowhere clarify this, and you would not need CF-root or Saferoot to flash Cyanogenmod.
Thanks in advance, forgive my English.
Any custom rom is rooted.

Are you sure?
Many guides explained previously cyanogenmod must install a custom recovery and rooting.
Does this mean you do not need to root?
Another question on this ...
I don't have Knox on my phone, but if I did, if I flash CM integrated with root, it would go up to 0x1?
I don't think you need root to flash. You can just flash a recovery and then flash the rom you want.
ok, thanks, but goes up knox to 0x1 if flash CM as asked in post # 3.
Custom roms never include a bootloader. So no, you don't get knox from installing custom roms.
That I know, but I did not ask what you answer.
My question is if I flash CM in particular the "KNOX WARRANTY VOID" is 0x1.
Thanks anyway.
Philz recovery has root access and allowed you to flash cm, which has root access too by default

All "custom recovery" have root access, but that doesn't mean that root the operating system . TCWM and TWRP flash CM too.
On the question of knox, anyone know?

Yes, knox will be 0x1. It will be set to 0x1 when you flash the custom recovery.

Hi everyone, I need help, because today I was trying to install TWRP (2.7.0.4 and also tried 2.7.0.34) in my Exynos Note 3 with Odin 3.09 (I tried 3.07 too) and I do the process correctly and it says RESET! with no errors, but when I try to enter the recovery, it boots the stock recovery :/
Why is this happening?
Thank you very much.
Did you flash CWM before that? Odin and TWRP aren´t friends
Or try TWRP manager. In manager flash img

No because I don't have the phone rooted, the idea is install the recovery and then root it. I will try with CWM
Didn't know you could install custom recovery without being rooted. . and I think you don't. If you want to root anyway than just do it and than install cwm mate.

I solve the problem, I untick the Auto reboot in Odin and then enter recovery without restart and installed a .zip to solve that program and then I rooted it and I'm happy

Because in custom recovery he choose root with SuperSU

Just informed myself..lol and you are right. But it is a real pain in the a**. You need to flash bootloader and... never mind he fixed it anyway by rooting
Hey XDA,
I'm about to install TWRP via Mobile ODIN Pro (v4.20) and I have a few questions.
1.) It says it will trip KNOX, but when I installed SuperSU I have successfully disabled KNOX. Does this mean that even if I install TWRP recovery, KNOX still won't be tripped?
2.) Can someone point me to a link on how to install TWRP step by step via Mobile ODIN? (I found one that shows how to install FlipZ Custom CWM, but I'd like one for TWRP) I need the latest TWRP version link also.
2.5) Can the stock recovery make nandroids? I'd like to make a nandroid before flashing TWRP, but if I cant it's no big deal. (Again, just wondering, but I still want TWRP)
I just want to do this right so I can make a nandroid backup. I am already familiar with TWRP from my HTC Evo 4G LTE, so im not interested in CWM.
FYI: I am on the stock ND2 rom - G900P (Sprint) - KOT49H.G900PVPU1AND2 - (if that helps you)
Thanks in advance! - zmag
Ad 1. Custom recovery trip Knox to 0x1 = loose waranty for motherboard
Ad 2.5 No.. Only custom recovery

You have not successfully disabled Knox and as you already know, installing a custom recovery like TWRP will increment the Knox flag.
No, the stock recovery cannot make a full backup. That is one of the primary benefits of TWRP. Your best backup alternative given a stock recovery would be Titanium Pro, which isn't nearly as good as TWRP. After you install TWRP you can make a full backup.
The only obvious way to make something resembling a Nandroid without a custom recovery would be to use the dd command from the command line and back up each partition.
You were just telling me in another thread how you always do forum searches. It's not hard to find numerous Odin tutorials if you search.
.
just get img file of stock recovery so u can flash back if u need best way. u can make backup with twrp then when you restore u just got to flash stock img ir tar of recovery
Hi everyone.
Im having a root issue.
Ive rooted my Galaxy S4 with no problems at all. My firmware version is I9505XXUGNG8.
However when i try to go to the Clockworkmod recovery i can't do it.
It simply goes to the normal system recovery. I want to install a custom rom, so this way i cant do it.
Ive tried some workarounds but the problem continues.
Is there anyway known to fix this?
Thanks
Use flashify app on your phone and flash the recovery zip
Remember it will trip the knox counter

Erm what!?
First of all you need odin to flash a custom recovery not the stock recovery.
Or flashify app from the playstore.
Or rom manager app from the playstore.
Only then can you start flashing a rom.
Plus check the file youre using for flashing the CWM recovery.

OK, i will try to explain better my problem
I have installed CF-Auto-Root with Odin and everything just worked fine.
After that i installed Clockworkmod recovery app and flashed. All fine
I want to install a custom rom (paranoid android), but for that i have to restart my phone in clockworkmod recovery mode so i can apply the custom rom and the gapps. Thats where i have my problem.
I dont know if it is because of knox being void already, everytime that i restart my phone, instead of going to clockworkmod recovery mode, the phone only goes to the stock recovery mode. (I still dont understand why)
Thats why i cant install this custom rom. Hope ive explain better now and someone can help

Maybe youre flashing a wrong version.
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?p=56487100
This post has the links for TWRP and Philz (Upgraded CWM). The best recoveries for our phone as of now.
Try flashing them via odin

I know that CF-Auto root has issues with the last official firmware for GT-I9505
I will try to flash another one of these youre saying
Tip: After u flashed the custom recovery, don't let your phone boot in to system. First you need to boot into recovery, after this u can boot in your system.

CF root doesn't have issues. You won't need root to use custom recovery.
Just download TWRP, Philz or CWM and flash it with Odin. Uncheck auto-reboot before flashing and go.
