I can play videos stored on my dlna server on the vibrant nicely. However aspect ratio can't be adjusted. The videos are alway zoomed to full screen and so distorted. I can't find a way to adjust the aspect ratio. Does anyone know if aspect ratio can be adjusted and how?
Sent from my SGH-T959 using XDA App
Assuming you are still on JDF? Upgrade the firmware to JI6, the aspect ratio is fixed, instead of zooming to full screen, it fills the screen while keeping at aspect ratio.
Hello dear people,
I am pretty new to the Android world and have had my Yoga for three months now. I bought a Media Player (WD TV) for my TV and now I am trying to work out Miracast.
While I do get a connection, my main problem is the aspect ratio. I have a 1080p TV, however, the Yoga 10 HD+ has a vertical resolution of 1200, not 1080. This leads to the image being cropped and the aspect ratio seems slightly wrong (of course, since it's not 16:9 anymore).
Has anybody else had this problem? Can I switch my tablet to a 1080p resolution somehow, or at least the stream? Thank you for your help!
Update: I used the NOMone Resolution Changer, setting the resolution to 1920x1080 with 233dpi, which seems to work. I am currently trying to figure out a way to increase image quality. It's okay, but not exactly what you expect from HD. Also, scenes with a lot of swift movement in them seem to be producing artifacts a lot. Not what I expected from the highly praised Miracast, but it might just be a device specific issue. I will write more when I've done some more research.
Wht is the correct ratio for viewing 3d hsbs movies in mxplayer?
Please share the ratio for both screen i.e. 16:9 screen and 18:9 screen
Set a custom aspect ratio to 32:9 (for 16:9) or 36:9 (for 18:9). Works well with mx player.
Since oreo update instagram, snapchat cameras are using 16:9 aspect ratio and its way too zoomed in, is there any possible fix?
Can you watch YouTube in ultra wide? Or just camera and video shots?
I don't exactly know what you mean because in terms of our cameras - the image or video is "ultrawide" because of how the lenses in ultrawide camera work and gather light/image in wider degree. The sensor itself is not "wider" physically. In fact we have identical sensors in both cameras in our G6's
However in terms of video format - yes, you can. If the video is 18:9, it will fit perfectly to your screen covering 100% of it (look at sample videos on YT taken by other 18:9 phones).
18:9 format example: https://youtu.be/Enc1xN4HaAk
Movie formats, 21:9 for example, if made correctly, will fit to our screens with black bars on top and bottom of the screen but these bars will be smaller than on 16:9-display devices.
21:9 format example: https://youtu.be/pEzpiu4zeAc
I meant could I watch YouTube videos in ultrawide mode 21.9 per only 18.9?

Yes, you can, check the second link I pasted.
You won't be able to use pinch-to-zoom feature to remove black bars from the bottom and top but the video plays perfectly fine.
Pinch-to-zoom in YT is only available for the videos that have black bars on the sides because of "smaller" width-to-height ratio than our display has (18:9), 16:9 videos for example.
