Hi. The Wi-fi on my G1 has stopped working.
I rooted my phone with the RC9 uk version by JF. I had no problems connecting to encrypted network.
I tried moving apps onto sd card and ran into problems so I wiped my phone and reset everything.
I cannot connect anymore on open or encrypted network. I can view it and when I try and connect it, it try's to obtain ip address and then fails!!?
Any ideas? Thanks
Hi
Does anyone think it's worth flashing back to the original version? I suspect not because it worked ok on the jf version I have but don't know what else to try?
I will try another wireless network at work today.
If my phone is picking up the network but not connect sound like a hardware problem or just a software one do you think?
Thanks
I had a similar problem but it was a router issue. I would def try another router before blaming the phone.
Ok. I just tried another router at work with an open network and its still the same. Shall I flash the phone do you think. Don't really want to do it again but I use the wifi network a lot and I am worried it could be hardware.
Thanks
well if you flash it and still have the problem then its hardware based. So nothing can hurt from flashing
I re flashed with latest version rc9 jf version and now working again. Thank you neoob
Hey All!
Having problems connecting to the university's wifi
there are a few networks, some secure (802.1x and enterprise wpa(?)), one is open
At times, even when in areas of strong signal, the phone wouldn't connect
to any of the networks, or it would start to connect and then fall out
and start looking for other networks, even when there are other, it would usually not connect to any of them and continue wasting my time
if I have a 3G data plan, i wouldn't even bother, but unfortunately, I don't...
how do I fix this?
your having problems connecting to the secured ones ?
ive had the same problems , heres the thing :
my guess is ur uni has numerous routers with same ID , ur phone pairs some info to that ID , and if u wanna connect to another router with the same ID , it wont work.
heres what to try :
next time ur having the same problem with "good signal - no connect" , just detete(forget) ur unis wifi profile , re-scan re-enter ur id/pw , and it should work .... till u try yet another router , its a pain ...
Tried it, numerous times...
didn't change a thing...
Kernel?
What ROM are you using with what kernel? Highly probable this is a kernel problem. Tytung r6 for instance does not have this problem. This kernel is delivered in for instance the TyphooN Rom on TyphooN CyanogenMod 7.
v2.4.1: Updated to tytung r6 kernel. This fixes IEEE 802.1x/EAP authentication support as well as native tethering.

I'm using
2.6.32.15-g0e4b5ff-dirty
That's the problem. Either flash to another ROM or find out how to flash another kernel.
forgot to mention,
My device isn't flashed,
I'm surring CM7 from the SD Card
A solution
I find A solution (not THE solution) : reinstall the ROM and it's work find until the next time...
the reinstall doesn't RAZ anything, so it's 2 mn time
The last comment is not clear!
Wifi peap aslo does not work for my university. I tried many ROMs
Only darkstone from SD card worked long time ago, now I am running android from nand
Same problem here ^^,
Will try to install some kernel
After a few flashes and testing some roms, i get this error when trying to connect to my wireless router. I reflashed with the generic 2.1 (435) and still, the problem continues to be.
What can I do?
what baseband are you on? i had the same problem but after flashing to the .55 baseband it connected with my home router. If it doesn't work you can try downloading Wifi Advanced configuration editor. It worked well for me. good luck!

did you try to reset your router? i also had that problem reflashed x10 with new original firmware and it didnt worked. after that i tryed reseting my router and it worked.
yep, tried that too. the problem its on the phone.
It looks like you can only make it flush its dhcp cache by setting a manual ip address, connect and then try again automatically. Reflashing with Flashtool or SEUS did not worked, this simple method did (after lots of settings and modifications with Root Explorer that didn't).
So, if you are stuck at this, try a manual configuration (with all the settings - IP, Gateway, DNS1 and DNS2) and then, try again automatically. If it's not working, reboot the phone after setting it on manual config and you have it connected. Good luck!
I've got a question.
My wifi is not working. I am unable to obtain ip address and connect to my network. I am sure that it is connected with MIUI ROM, because on any other ROM it works fine (custom, stock, CM7, but not MIUI)
I've also tried different modems, kernels in my Galaxy S, and also tried to connect with different routers and even i;ve created ad-hoc network on my laptop.
Have You any idea what to do to resolve this problem?
lack of wifi disqualifies MIUI as my ROM :/
People do you even have a solution for my WiFi problem? I have been asking this on several forums but unfortunately I get no reply, my N6P is no more detecting WiFi signals and Bluetooth. I literally get only loading screen on my WiFi panel and end up loading at the end only. I flashed stock images as referred by one of my friend but unfortunately nothing happend N6P without a WiFi is boring guys please help.
I don't get Bluetooth signals also
There is also no IP address seen and it is showing unavailable and MAC address in 20:00:00:00 from long time
I have been done flashing stock firmware images of Oreo and Nougat.
One day long back it's been months, I once tried flashing custom kernel it suddenly worked then I don't know when it disappeared.
Anything related to kernel and the signals of WiFi and btooth ?
Your help will be appreciated guys help

If you have already wiped your phone completely by formatting the partitions and flashing the stock image using flash-all.bat script, there is nothing else to do. Both Wi-Fi and BT are on the Broadcom chip soldered on the motherboard. Try again. Ensure you have the latest ADB/Fastboot binaries on your PC. Connect your phone to the PC and fastboot format (not erase) system, userdata, cache partitions and then use the batch file included with the full image. This will return your phone to bone stock. If you still have the problem, the motherboard and/or chip is bad. If you have "already done that", you are at the end of the road.
