The Google camera app doesn't even give you a choice to send video but messenger does. Why is this? I would like to use hangouts but with Google camera there is no option. Its funny because if you use other camera apps it give you s video option......which camera are you guys using with hangouts to easily send video

Hey guys,
I just wanted to install a GTalk Version on my mum's Desire (which was mine before), in order to give her the ability to call me on with her Phone.
Every GTalk zip I flashed through the CM7 gives only the ability for video chat (with the back camera).
Is there a possible way to have only the voice chat option, and that I can call her from my Nexus via voice chat?
Thanks in advance
Cheers

It cannot with this aplication.
Only it is possible to type, or Voice and Video.
They are the only options, but there is Apss that do what you want, as TIKL
A greeting....
The one I have (it comes with MIUI-Au) has it but quite hidden. Open a chat with somebody, then hit menu, then More..., and there is Audio. That will start a voice call. The only problem is that it uses the speaker as it was a multimedia sound instead of regular voice call.
What a pity it can't be set to the call-speaker like on my Nexus...
It would make everything so much more easier! Instead of downloading apps, signing in, having everyone online in order to call/text/video call, it would be so much better if Hangouts was just integrated into the OS. On iOS all you do is sign in to your Apple ID when you first buy and turn on the phone. Same thing happens on android, so why not just integrate hangouts into this process so that if I text another android user, it automatically sends as a hangout message instead of text. This would make video calling so much easier and since hangouts is cross-platform, almost everyone would instantly be accessible for video calling/texting/VoIPing. Make the whole process transparent like on iOS and you have yourself a winning platform for doing your VoIP and video calling almost instantly.
Yeah it's dumb. On the other hand it's easier to update apps when they aren't integrated, hence messenger camera in the playstore. If they put the dialer in the playstore AND integrated hangouts in the dialer, then we'd be fine.
Guys i dont get option for video calling through dialer.. only get option to voice call and also cant receive video call..plz help me out

The default dialer app has no such function, if you are trying to video call someone who has an iphone or any other phone you can do so with Viber, Whatsapp or other social media apps that support such function.
You can now download Google Duo for video call, it supports IOS as well

I side loaded hangouts and when I do a video chat I can say things to people but I cannot hear anyone. Has anyone successfully sideloaded hangouts and set up a video chat?
