Helping the developers
You may have noticed there's 2 versions of this app, one ad-free for donators and one with ads.
You can help us by clicking ads you're interested in for the free version, or purchasing the donator version!
We will use the money generated by this app as common money for the developers of the team. It will be used to pay for our web-hosting (we own a gerrit server and a domain name, exynos5420.com). It will also be used to buy a new device if one of ours breaks.
Translating the App
You can also help us by translating the app to your language:
1. You can start by looking at the full english language file: Link
2. Then compare it to your unfinished language file. You can find it here, under values-xx/strings.xml, xx being your language abbreviation.
3. You can then fill-in the missing strings in your language file. Here's an example of what a proper update looks like.
4. Then you can submit your translation by using our gerrit. If you don't know how to use gerrit, just PM the translation to your favorite developer and he'll get it merged!

About the camera, I would venture to say that what they mean by posting "camera" under the topic "Bugs", is because the hardware does not yet have a driver for the Marshmallow based software? Thus my guess is that no 3rd party app would work. I think this way because if a 3rd party camera app did work, they would have mentioned that in the OP and besides it makes no sense that a 3rd party app would work and the stock camera app not, right?
Please feel free to correct me if I am wrong.
Camera doesnt work means there is a problem when trying to link camera's hardware so all app that uses the camera (3rd party cameras, skype, etc) cant commect to the camera's hardware .
There are 2 minor issues in the latest build:
Issue #1: There is a lag with the sound. Sometimes the sound works well as it should, but most of the time there is a huge lagg when putting up volume. Some of the ui sounds play 10 seconds later. Here is a video of demonstration: https://youtu.be/qwE5JukYPHI
Issue #2: There are graphical glitches sometimes. The device os stuck on a screen and you have to wait until system ui stops and reopens. This does not happen so often, but it happens. Video of demonstration: https://youtu.be/ht-v1OWgeNg
Anyone else here who can report these issues?
Sorry for the bad video quality, but my old tablet only got a 5MP Camera to record.
If you need any logcats or specific logs, just let me know and I will help you.

Hmm, I don't know if my ril actually works at all (I don't have a Sim), but there is progress because it detects the radio now, which it didn't in older builds.

It detects the SIM card, but mobile data doesn’t work. I didn’t test calls/text messages.
Thanks for the great job, deadman!
I just don't find the newer builds, could someone give me a hint/link? Or do I need to build it myself from the repo?

Here you go: http://sean.sspencer10.com/klimtlte/
Thanks, I tried both newer ones (29/3 and 1/3) today.
My feedback:
Both are not working on my device, even after a complete Wipe:
If I flash just the ROM (and Modem before) it starts to the Screen "Starting Apps", hangs there for about 10 minutes, then the Bootscreen comes again and that stays (at least for an hour when I turned off).
When flashing the pico-version of OpenGApps right afterwards (and Wipe Dalvik/Cache) I get to see the PIN-Entrry for my SIM (so ril runs obviously), at the same time I get a message that Media has been closed (crash), the a message that System UI has been closed, then Media again an off it goes: Bootscreen forever again.
If I can provide further Information please let me know. I haven't tried a larger OpenGApp-Package, does that might help?
Edit: This problem occurs just with the build 20160229, the newer build 20160301 works, but there ril is not working again (so probably you know about the problem already).
I am using the TWRP klimtwifi recovery. Is it possible that this prevents me from installing the latest unofficial build? I get an error in TWRP telling me my tablet is klimtwifi although I know that it is a SM-T705.
And can anyone point me to a working klimtwifi TWRP recovery?
EDIT: found it under the link in post #16.
And I got now the 0307 one installed but IMEI is still unknown.
03/01 works but i still have no sim card
03/07 and 03/08 hang at the samsung screen, on a clean flash and ive tried upgrading from 03/01

halogenOS Checklist
Although no data should be lost or damaged by the flashing process,
we advise you to follow the following steps if you are coming from another rom:
Please take a full nandroid backup!
Please copy your back up to an external device.
Backing up your Internal Storage is also recommended.
When completed, please clean flash the build!
Although you usually can dirty flash halogenOS over other ROMs, considering the other
ROM has the same Android version, it is not guaranteed. In case of serious
crashes please do a clean flash.
If you get app crashes after dirty flashing over XOS 6 or another ROM, please just
clear the app data of those apps, and it should work fine then.
XOS is a new generation cutting-edge OS for Android based on Code Aurora Forum releases.
What is XOS?
halogenOS, also known as XOS is a new Android ROM which ships with the global aim to
become a modular ROM which keeps as high as potentially possible operating
performance on your mobile device while still maintaining a sufficient feature
base of nice, small and minimal features that would not be available via any
external feature base, extension, mod or plugin.
We hope you have a truly halogenified experience!
Internals of XOS
At core, the ROM is composed mainly of components from CodeAuroraForums (CAF),
featuring only extremely minor set of components from CyanogenMod (CM) which
have been added to source in order to allow for better cross-device compatibility.
Our LOVE to others
A huge thanks goes to those behind the CodeAuroraForums (CAF), the CyanogenMod
organization and all of its
contributors for the sources used in the development of the base ROM which we
started with inclusive of all the work and dedication their team puts in order to
keep us updated on the awesome contributions that they make.
We will be keen on ensuring that we be up to date with the code from our base sources,
with regular ROM updates hopefully coming from time to time.
Please do not ask for ETA's (else you shall be spooked by Mr Skeltal). Almost all of us are
students, and with the current lifestyles and routines we have, it is not that easy to acquire
time to develop the ROM, though we'll be sure to keep you updated and release OTAs as
soon as they are available and ready for publication. If you want to be really updated quick,

Common stuff
Known issues:
None at all
The ROM is super stable as of now and we'll maintain a clean and proper ROM.

Button actions
Highlights:
Reworked Lockscreen Visualizer
Modern Services -> Google Assistant etc.
Substratum (OMS7)
Full media support (FFMPEG, video codecs, ...)
Great Audio quality, no distortions, no crap
Optimized many portions of the system including surfaceflinger, inputflinger, System Server, and more
Super fast boot
Superuser-capable
Great battery life
Soundmod support (not all soundmods work on Nougat, it's not our fault)
addon.d support (backups your gapps etc. when flashing new build - don't wipe system before flashing!)
init.d support
BusyBox
Super smooth
Signature Spoofing toggle (Support for MicroG)
Support for trusted third-party WebViews like Chrome
Long press on home for assist toggle
Security Patches in kernel
KCAL support
Kernel optimizations
OpenGapps (Mini/Micro/Nano recommended) and Banks GApps support
Dexpreopt for faster (first) boot time and less space consumption on data partition
Upgrade & Boot the ROM in just 5 minutes - no more endless waiting for flashing a new build
Very high compatibility with other ROMs
How to update the ROM:
Download the latest zip
Reboot into TWRP (Please use official TWRP)
Do not wipe anything
Flash the ROM
Optional : Flash GApps and/or SuperSU
Reboot
You don't need to wipe Cache/Dalvik.
You don't need to flash gapps again. There is some magic going on which keeps your GApps. Just make sure that you don't wipe system before flashing.
You don't need more than 5 minutes.

Updates
Updates will be released on the halogenOS telegram channel linked in the OP. I may or may not be able to monitor the thread actively, ping me on Twitter or on Telegram for any queries if they remain unanswered here.
FAQ
Q Why you no 7.1?
A CAF will not release 7.1 as Google has discouraged OEMs to use it as well, so we need to wait. The update for 7.1.1 is just round the corner though, but again, CAF takes some time after Google's release so it may be a month or so before you get the 7.1.1 update in halogenOS.
Q August Security patch? You ****ting me right?
A Again, CAF. CAF hasn't been really proactive with merging them and merging even one month's patches is a massive pain that we'd better leave up to the more experienced people at CAF.
7.1.1 and December Security patch baby!

Finaly, a working Nougat for the awesome tab pro.
Love this tablet but the support from samsung is terrible. Stuck in 4.4 Kitkat and the tab deserves an better version.
Had a working Lollipop but it was buggy like hell.
This release is working perfect, and above all, its fast and smooth.
Nothing like the buggy Lollipop.
Keep up the good work, love this release.
How do I get rid of the popup message "com.android.phone has stopped" with the close app option which never causes the message to go away? Should I reflash the device? Please advise I am not a novice with rooting or flashing devices but a 1st with this model.
Any help would be appreciated.

Possible bug while watching any video
First, thank you so much for your work. Everything went smooth. After install and installing some apps, I noticed when I watch video, from any app such as watchESPN, Facebook or youtube, the video starts out normal and then zooms in to the top left side of the video. Anyone else having g this issue? I thought it was some accessibility setting, but it is not. This is definitely a bug. I don't think it's a hardware issue because this did not happen with KitKat.
Thank you
Hey great Work.
Does it work with the 905 too?
Or is the differnt CPU a problem?
Thx for answer

About LD
Years after the death of LiquidSmooth, Sean Hoyt (the LiquidSmooth lead dev) has returned to the ROM game with the Exynos5420 team to bring greatness to our beloved exynos5420 tablets and note 3 out of the ashes of the fallen LiquidSmooth ROM. LiquidDeathOS is super optimized for the exynos5420.
In fact right now it is so optimized that it won't even boot on non-exynos devices
LD is AOSP based and is only for Exynos devices
(it's even more optimized than cm)
Feature List:
OMS/substratum theme engine
Advanced Reboot
Network Traffic Settings
Clock Settings
Quick Pulldown
Smart Pulldown
Hardware/Software key control
Lockscreen Control
More to come!!

At the moment, Nonelol. I switch between all three frequently for bug checking and updating. If I had to choose, it would actually be liquid death. Doesnt have the most customisation, yet, but god damn its stable lol
Okay Thanks!
I'll try this one since I'm not using the gps I guess (any plan on fixing it?)
Do I need to update my firmware to the latest one to get a stable feel?
Thank you!
How to update to Marshmallow bootloader (required for 20170323 and later builds)
Updating the bootloader is very quick and doesn't wipe data or repartition the device.
If the last Samsung ROM you had was 6.0.1 Touchwiz, you already have Marshmallow bootloader and don't need to follow these steps. (If you were on MM, and it still won't boot, follow the steps below)
1. Download the bootloader-only Odin package: T800XXU1CPK2.tar.md5
This has the latest Marshmallow bootloader (December 2016)
https://www.androidfilehost.com/?fid=457095661767146298
2. Download Odin 3.11
You can skip this if you already have a working Odin
https://www.androidfilehost.com/?fid=673368273298937183
3. Shutdown your tablet and start it up by holding Power+Home+Volume Down to enter Download Mode. Volume Down is the one right next to the power button. Really shut it down and use this key combination, if you use Advanced Restart, or go into download mode via TWRP the bootloader won't change.
4. Make sure the screen of your tablet has a green android symbol with a "Downloading..." text
5. Open Odin3_v3.11.1.exe and follow the instructions in this image:
If anything is missing, you WON'T flash bootloader successfully.
6. Click Start. Your tablet will automatically reboot back into your ROM.
7. To verify you have the new bootloader, you can run in terminal emulator "getprop ro.bootloader". It should say T800XXU1CPK2.
Thanks @ZakooZ for the post!

That's fine, you should be good to go. Just make sure your using the latest twrp (if not download the latest one, reboot to twrp, press installs switch to images at the bottom, choose the twrp image, select that it's a recovery image, swipe to flash and reboot to twrp again and it should be updated)

Any t807t news? The majority of us US guys are chomping at the bit for some Nougat love.
Is it normal that the background is dirty unicorn ?
Btw,. Its really Working well!
Edit : fingerprint is not working
My last rom RRN > full wipe > install rom LD & gapps & su
Home button wake work normal
Thx for this great rom
Great work thx again
unfortunately this rom doesn't exist privacy guard like RR N & LineageOs
(Sorry for my bad english)
I just wondered, is it planned to enable the fingerprint scanner ? I think it should have a good reason, because it's disabled in all the 7.1.1 Roms :good:
It's not a request but just if we can expect to get it working a future release thanks @DarkExistence for your hard work (wow 3 roms :silly: !)
how can i disable back and recent button like Resurrection remix
The ROM is a brand new ROM and is still WIP. The feature set isn't as big as what RR or Lineage have yet, but it is a lot smoother and a lot more optimised for exynos devices so it won't lag as much and there will be less crashes.
Fingerprint reader is disabled for certain reasons, it will get re enabled eventually but we need to work on it first

Just want to clarify, LDO is not based off of du, rather we are AOSP based, we simply used du as a reference, and they happen to have an amazing wallpaper, so we decided to use it until we make our own wall

It has app ops instead of privacy guard, this is slimmer, and allows for greater control of permissions for system apps, it's in settings/security
Edit, just moved it to the main settings https://review.exynos5420.com/2117

EDIT ok i got help here - any of these are fine, except the ones for Samsung, as they are esentially the same thing.
Fingerprint scanner doesnt work when in sleep, doesnt wake phone. need to hit power button then scan finger.
also, wifi button doesnt seem to toggle in the quick drop down menu. Visually.
Edit - wifi button works, just had to reboot system. maybe phone brain fart.

Double tap to wake does not work after ~5 seconds after screen off (after the always on display dims down)
* Might be related to a broken screen replacement.
* I DID verify that the problem is a software problem - flashed xiaomi.eu rom and it DOES work there.
* I'm NOT at all sure it worked even with original screen (screen was fully functional, just a few cracks in the glass)
Update:
Tried derpfest and project elixir, same problem.
also found this on pixel-experience github issue tracker...
exactly the same issue - AOD becomes too dim and tap to wake stops working.
seems it's a known problem.

LineageOS is a free, community built, aftermarket firmware distribution of Android 11 (R), which is designed to increase performance and reliability over stock Android for your device.
LineageOS is based on the Android Open Source Project with extra contributions from many people within the Android community. It can be used without any need to have any Google application installed. This version comes in two flavors, GMS and vanilla. LineageOS does still include various hardware-specific code, which is also slowly being open-sourced anyway.
All the source code for LineageOS is available in the LineageOS Github repo. And if you would like to contribute to LineageOS, please visit out Gerrit Code Review.

Are the gapps the only difference between GMS and Vanilla, or is there more to it?

Just gapps, no more differences
Thank you very much for the rom. It's the only up to date one without gapps. I've used it for three weeks now without any problems. I've patched the service.jar so signature spoofing is supported. (Correction: Signature spoofing is supported out of the box for this rom). After installing microg, safetynet can be passed easily with Universal SafetyNet Fix. I'm hoping for updates
P.S. Stock camera is realy nice and battery life is superb.
I have to thank you too. I am using this since one month now and ...
it is rock solid
hassle free included stock camera app
vanilla option for use without gapps (i use it with microG)
slim and free of bloatware
free of xiaomi telemetry
battery life is through the roof
5/5 would recommend and donate
also best phone i bought for about 200 bucks, and hopefully will serve me some more years to come.

I can confirm your point, totally.
Nowadays this is probably the most solid cusrom available for Laurel, very accurate and fast FOD recognition, everything works properly...battery backup is also spectacular.
Only 2 little CONS (maybe just for me):
~there's no present FM radio app.
~poweroff alarm not working.
In general if you need MI A3 as primary device for daily driving i suggest this (I'm on 13 December release with no name kernel) build over each other, thanks to developer and his amazing work.
Sorry for my English.

the fm app i know, i didn't really bother fixing it, i added it for one build but it was completely broken, if i spent more time on it i probably could get it working; what do you mean by poweroff alarm?
I know too the problem about the offline radio app for mi a3, but this is not a basic app for the daily usage.
Poweroff alarm is a specific app (present on every lineage official release for xiaomi devices) which restart the phone from the power off state (I powered off my phone every night during sleep hours) immediately before the alarm ringing.
Thanks again for your much appreciated work on this amazing device.
Pardon for my English.

Yes signature spoofing permission is added by default. Sorry, my fault.
New feb update pushed, hope you guys enjoy it
Made an account just to show appreciation on how amazing this rom is. I thought my phone was a goner now it feels brand spanking new.
One issue though, adb sideload does not work in recovery in february update. Is this known or does it only happen to me?

The issue is known, if you are facing it flash this in recovery (you can flash the recovery img in fastboot, then the kernel and it should work just fine, or if you're rooted flash it via fkm or hkf)
I didn't want to build this release a third time to fix it (in the first hours the links pointed to a build with broken camera due to the fact that i had to resync the ROM sources and forgot to remove one thing)
Glad you enjoy the ROM
New update pushed, a lot of good changes, hope you guys enjoy it
Top class release, finally working also offline FM radio app, and PowerOff alarm...thanks for your work...I very appreciate it!!
Still the best rom I've ever used on my A3 after Paranoid. Absolutely loving it! Can't wait for the next update!
I've finally decided to leave stock A11 behind and tried this rom today
unfortunately android auto does not work, it needs to be installed as a system app (communication errore 22)
i've used the gms variant -
should i retry with the vanilla One and install a differenti gapps package?

That should work, try something like opengapps or nikgapps, that should have variants with android auto installed as system, or you can root and make it a system app yourself
