Agreed, also would be good if those who tried it can post a comparison about how much was lasting battery with 5.1.1 and now with 6.0 on same scenario (I mean apps, settings, etc)

befor update i think battery life getting better ,but after one night and a some program ,it's show only 22 hours battery life ,,,, hey sami what you think about batterylife .?
i totaly disapoint...

Installed French XEF yesterday at 15:00 (03:00PM)
Popped it off the charger at 16:00
Now : 08:00, the next day
43% charge
16h 8m on battery
1h 44m SOT
Maybe 2% loss overnight.
Disabled Google Apps and Samsung bloat via Settings => Applications
WIFI : ON
Location : GPS, WIFI and Mobile
Brightness : 25% + Auto
Turned OFF LTE : Only 3G speeds in my area
Action Launcher 3

There's not so much to do fellaz. We've got a 2500 mah battery giving juice to a monster cpu and monster useless display. These things swallow harder than sasha grey.

System calculate time left on battery based on your usage in 7 days, if you use it a lot then system will shows that you have short life of battery, if you use moderate or low, then you would see longer time of usage. So You should check your real time on battery, when you use in similar way than in on 5.1.1 and then compare to 6.0.1. For me at the moment i see much better battery performance.

Heavy use. 40-70% brightness about 1h more SOT than Lollipop.

The battery life for now is not so impressive, not more than L

One more thing to notice is that the battery fares better in wifi. But suffers a lot in Lte or in 3g mobile network. I get no more than 3 hrs of SOT when connected to mobile network in lollipop, but 4.5 to 5 hrs in wifi. Could anyone manage to get better battery in mobile network in MM?? The main battery suckers in network are google services and the annoying mobile radio active bug in lollipop. Are these two things fixed in MM touchwiz rom?? Confirmation is appreciated..

The doze feat is deff working. With WiFi on all night and apps open I lost 2%.
no sight of the R.A.B but some say they are exparience it.

How do you guys check whether Doze is actually working or not? Is there any specific part of the settings where I could check it?
Thanks!

By now your phone battery would have deteriorated for those who have had it a while that whatever gain MM has would be negligible.
For those of us who got it at release day, battery health would be about ~95%.

Indeed, but no one is asking for Xperia Z3 battery either, where I could get around 8+ hours SOT with Amplify, Greenify and a few other tweaks. I no we can't let the battery drop slower when using the phone, but the main complain is the standby drop, which would give us more SOT if we could lower it. Really, my phone should not use power on anything else than be ready for calls, text and else the apps I set it to, like Snapchat, Messenger and so on when in standby and you can get this with Amplify and Greenify. On 5.1.1 I managed to get around 0-1% drop over 8 hours of sleep, so as I got more standby time, I would eventually get more SOT too, which made the phone still last a day.
The problem now with the high standby drain is that you can't really feel a difference (might be kind of ironically here) between using the phone or having it in standby as it still drains hell a lot.

nothing has changed in marshmallow since 5.1.1 . I am using for 2 days. the battery consumption is the same as lollipop. (i did clean flash of france mm)

I've noticed App Optimisation is using 7% of my battery.... Cell standby 3% and Android system 8% with screen nicking 50%.
Seems good, but i'm disabling App Optimisation and comparing over the next few days.
Haven't experienced any drain from mobile or radio signals or any other bugs.

Battery life

i have had my tablet in standby for 24hrs and only 2% battery drop with 98% left that was using very lightly in between simply amazing just had it unlocked to all networks from O2.
Now 2 and half days battery use still sitting at 94% with lite use.
Niiiiice. Mine is doing well. Solid tablet. Roll on lollipop.
Still at 73% 4days use mind blowing was doing quite a it of web browsing yesterday I am sure this thing runs on nuclear fushion power lol.
I got 1 day 9 hours of battery life. The screen on time is 5 hours (mostly movie, Youtube, and reading manga).
I do, however, lost quite a battery (almost 20%) on stand by overnight ON stamina mode (forgot to turn off).
May need to look into a little bit more what caused this.
My battery is still going since I made this thread at 49% 5 and half days in with good use simply amazing

Yes i have the lte vershion and yes i have my tmobile card inserted and beem using the 1gb data i get i turn data off when i am done.
Never been a champion in battery savings, but here I could reach 9 hours and 30 mins of Screen On Time in 2 days of use! With the same apps my Note 3 only reaches 3 hours Screen On Time. Wonderful.
I have LTE version with sim inside and used both in house and outside, also used gps and bluetooth (but not so much)

Yep do you have WiFi or lte versions
WiFi, 32gb
Maybe lte is draining less power than wifi i am using mine on 3g network maybe that is draining less power hence the long battery life i am happy with 3g.
does it make sense for the lte version to drain less battery then wifi version????
i have a wifi version and dont seem to get as good batt. life as you guys....
seems like my "Android System" is sucking up alot of battery.
I bought mine 4days ago (LTE version). So far i'm only using wifi and the battery last for 24hrs from 100%-20%
I'm getting on average 10 hours screen time with very mixed usage ie remote play, browsing and media play back.

[Question] How battery life really is on marshmellow?

hello,
i ordered a moto x play two days ago and i will get my device today or tomorrow. Now i am not sure if i should upgrade to marshmallow. Regarding to some posts here the battery life seems to suffer from the update. Is this true? Do you have the same battery life with 6.0 as with 5.1.1 ? For me battery life is kind of crucial. I chose the moto because of the good battery.
I'd love to know your opinion.
Thanx in advance.
Battery life seemed a bit lower on 6.0 than on Lollipop for a few days. Now, it's stabilized, and I'd say it's almost as good

It's been great for me. 7-8 hrs sot with stock kernel and now on track to get 10 with Squid kernel.
I get 10+ hours SOT . With stock mm.. dual sim and mobile data.
I usually play around with the autostarts app and titanium backup. I guess, i can root my device and i will then be able to optimize the phone i like with these tools.
Thanx for your answers. I still would like to get some more votes.
regards.
I think the only difference MM can make will be due to optimizing certain apps. Its sucha shame that google play services cant be optimized. I am finding its better than LP.
Offtopic - I had a S5 (g900h) with LP 5.0.1 stock and samsung had this optimization option which lead to an awesome battery life. This is why I believe that can be the only thing which can make it better
It depends on your usecase. If you are constantly on the phone, they won't differ much. If your phone is screen-off most of the time, Marshmallows Doze mechanism can save you a ton of battery life (assumping you jumpstart it with Naptime or similar). It could possibly be matched or even overcome if you REALLY fine tune a lollipop setup with Amplify, but from a technical standpoint doze is far better, because the OS controls when the device wakes up, not the apps themselves. Also, the most recent (best?) kernels will only be for MM.

It means if 4 percent decreases in 8 hours it's about 1 percent in 2 hours. Me too has same result although in between 8 hours I took a 3 minute call and my alarm rung.

Help with new s7 edge PLEASE

Hello,
After reading alot of reviews about the s7 edge battery life i decided to get it. so i got 2 days ago and was really excited about it. the problem the battery is draining so fast and thats really confusing
ive seen screenshots with 50 hours and 60 hours with estimated time. mine barely shows 7 hours. today for example i left the house at 8 with 92% and now im back wth 36% left screen was on auto with wifi
and 3g and sometime gps on. is this normal? am i being paranoid? is it true that the battery will get better with more days of use?
Please tell me what should i do im really worried that its faulty or something.
PS: i did a factory reset before i use it.
Yes, it will take a couple of days for the battery to level out. Do you have the Exynos or Snapdragon processor? What apps are reporting high battery use? Have you disabled any apps?
Sorry for the barrage of questions, but all of these things play a role in your battery life. I recommend GSAM battery monitor and Greenify with aggressive doze, but I will say that 50-60 hours is ambitious. I can usually get 25-30 hours with about 5 hours of SOT. That is with a combination of wifi, 4g, gps and Bluetooth on (android wear), some gaming and facebook, instagram, etc.

I am using the Exynos model in Netherlands. the screen is always on the top of the list of the battery usage. im using gsam to monitor the battery and i dont think there is anything unusual there android system on the top using 25% or something. im really scared of using anything so it wont die on me outside today i was only navigating and doing some whatsapp calls on the 3g network "not even 4g". i only disabled facebook and using nova launcher and the AOD is off also. im not sure if i should send it back... how many days are we talking about for the battery to get better? i only want somehow a good battery not worse than my old grand prime. as i said i got it wendesday's evening and now its friday and its still bad

If I'm reading correctly, you are losing about 60% in 5 hours? If so, that is definitely excessive even during the first 2 or 3 days unless the screen was on and the phone active the entire time. Can you post screen shots of you battery stats? Maybe some app is causing the problem, but is not being reported as using too much battery.
Some folks say that the different firmwares have different battery usage. Has yours updated?

ok someone told me to turn it off and charge to 100% so i dont have enough data now. but im doing a test now with pokemon go lol
the screen is on about 70% brightness wifi and gps are on and radio is off (i have low cell signal now) and music app playing in the background and now after 50 minutes i am at 89% with screen on all the time. do you think this is good or bad?
i just noticed something in most of the screen shots from other people gsam shows about 3.80v near the temperature but mine show 4.07v does this makes any difference?
That sounds normal for an hour of paying Pokemon Go. It's pretty battery intensive. That voltage is just the current battery charge. It'll drop as your battery percent drops.

Battery life on LG G4 h815

Hi guys
I have just purchased a new LG g4 h815.
I am loving the speed, the looks and everything but I have an issue regarding battery life. I am getting a screen on time of around 2.5 hrs with moderate to heavy use, is it normal for LG g4 though to don't play any games or stuff . Previously I had used a Samsung Note 4 it had an amazing battery life, screen on time was around 3.5 to 4 hrs with moderate to heavy use.
Any suggestions to improve battery life I have turned off location services, auto sync and Bluetooth, screen brightness is @40 % but WIFI is turned on constantly
I have surfed a lots of sites and forums most of them are complaining about the battery life of this phone but still most of them are getting around 3 to 3.5 hrs of screen on time.

I have basically given up on this phone. Never get any updates (in Norway) and battery is very poor. The worst phone I ever had comparing battery. You should not have to turn off everything and tweak the phone and ask in forums to get good battery time. My father have a samsung brand and don't know **** about android or phones and have he's phone full of crap and never optimized it for anything and he STILL have great battery... Much better than mine. Weird right?
A thing I think, is that this phone struggle with WiFi. I have a lot of wifi disconnects and it gets very hot when it struggles with wifi. Sometimes when im at home I can have 60% left battery and not use it for a while and then suddenly have 40%...

Having just gone though the same hassles, I found the only way to get good battery life is to get the latest version of Lollipop (V10F-TWN-XX for me), root and install Greenify to hibernate hungry apps like facebook etc. I find my battery life is now better than my old G2. I get about 3+ hours SOT and lots of standby time. (Its 10:20 am right now, usage on battery is 3h 35 mins, estimated time remaining is 155 hours, 3 % use in last 3h, 28m screen on time) Previously my battery would have been on 50-60% by mid day, now its in the 90s.
I was almost ready to ditch the phone and find something else, which would have been a shame as I like this phone.
What I tried and found along the way:
- Use the battery charger that came with the phone, the charger that came with my phone had a different plug so I used another brand. This was charging my battery too fast and causing it not to hold as much charge.
- I tried almost every Marshmallow stock rom I could find. Nothing seemed to be that great with the battery.
- I disabled wifi when not in use, location bluetooth etc...went back to almost no apps just to see what was causing poor battery, but determined it wasn't anything other than the system.
Anyway, thats what worked for me. Hope that helps.
Great battery life on Genisys for BL developed by Ignacio R. No root, bloatware blocked, Hibernation Manager on board. It's not heavy used, most browser on wifi/lte, g+, youtube.

My friend under no circumstances is it acceptable to have such appalling battery life. The only time it is acceptable is if you do heavy gaming. In all other conditions this phone should hit 5 to 7 hrs SOT,
YouTube will always use a lot of battery, especially if there's not an optimal 3g/4g/wifi connection.
Not sure what to do.. tried everything...

we are on the same page bro.. ? noting to do thinking of getting pixel 2xl or oneplus 5t
i know many apps drain battery..but after buying a 750$ phone, it's obvious i would use it as much as i want.. but it's not happening.. if one needs to DEBLOAT, block notification etc things, shouldn't they get nokia 3310? fully DEBLOATED no lag and excellent battery..
btw i don't have any defect in my phone... and i don't get easily 6h.. that's what the post is about..
8-9 hrs SOT is just not possible on s8. Its an outlier if its true. Even on Wifi, one might get 5 hrs to max 6 hrs SOT. I would ask folks who are getting it to do a video of their phones and usage to confirm this kind of SOT.
The issue is with standby time and not with actual battery consumption. Sammy's experience 9.0 is also not as optimized as vanilla android. OEMs like Huawei & Xiaomi just nuke their background apps and hence folks get higher standby and thus more SOT
@sp1312 Indian telcos are not optimized for 4G. The max SOT you'lll get on a good day with mixed (wifi+4G) would be about 4-5 hrs which I am experiencing.

Don't lose sleep over an hour or two of SOT. Just enjoy the phone. As far as it lasts a day, everything is fine.
The trick to higher SOT is keep it's screen on for a few minutes randomly. When I read books on Kindle app or keep looking at photos, my SOT shoots up by an hour. There is usually nothing wrong with our phone, unless there is abnormal battery drain per hour. 2-4% on 4G is absolutely fine.
