i pulled the n910c out of the box, downloaded the twrp image from the twrp website being official.
i flashed it using odin.
booted the phone and when it reaches the samsung logo it bootloops.
i can enter TWRP just fine though.

(i didnt power the phone on at first, i just went straight to putting twrp on it).

problem resolved.
installed one of the available kernels via twrp. all booting now.
i just went with spacex kernel. not sure which is best yet.
After lots of hesitating, I rooted again.
I installed TWRP 3.0 and downloaded phronesis v6.
I continued to install it, but while the text "Starting AROMA installer" appeared, TWRP froze and after a few seconds it restarted into my normal system. I tried 2 other roms, same issue.
TWRP 3.0 was the culprit I thought. Well, I flashed CWM 6.0.4.8 and tried it. It freezes and doesn't do anything.
Now, what is the problem exactly here?
After lots of trying to post this article due to my internet, I tried Philz and it works. Don't blame me, blame the infrastructure of my provider. Well, blame me anyways.

So, the latest version of PHILZ will work out with the aroma installer? For sure?
I can't open TWRP 2.8.7 or lower version with the original stock rom (5.0) rooted version...... How is that possible?

Thanks.
Someone who has a working download link of Philz touch? Can't find one
it's for the Samsung Galaxy Note 3 N9005 international version...
Thank you all ready
Same problem.. need quick n fast solution
Hey. I have Note 3 N900. I have same issue. While installing ROM from CWM and also Philz recovery. AROMA installer freezez nd phone restarts. Could it be a problem with kernal? I've installed another ROM before. Download mode says binary is custom.
Should I try flashing stock rom and try again?

Hi There,
RE: TWRP
I recommend using TWRP 2.8.7.0, Its not the latest release but its the most reliable. TWRP 3.0+ have only froze when attempting any aroma file. Even when flashing without aroma, I have still had flash errors and reboots and have always had to retreat back to 2.8.7-, this is really unfortunate as there are extra capabilities in 3.0+ that would be good to have. If you still want to use 3.0+ but want aroma-ish options you can script your own instructions in a gapps-config file. Instructions here: https://github.com/opengapps/opengapps/wiki/Advanced-Features-and-Options
RE: ClockWorkMod
These are the two best sources for CWM recoveries. I have found CWM 6.0.4.8 & PhilzTouch working good.

ii) https://www.droidwiki.de/wiki/ClockWorkMod
iii) http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2201860 --- XDA Philz Touch Thread
With CWM/Philz you can use aroma with CWM/Philz, just download clockwork aroma file manager (aromafm) attached. Put the aromafm.zip in "clockworkmod/aromafm/aromafm.zip" in any of the storage volumes. Read the quick guide in Philz xda thread for instructions on themes, configuration, formatting as folder placement is important.

Aroma installer freezing is solved by using recovery TWRP v2.8.7.0
I can confirm, that Aroma installer is freezing on Samsung Galaxy Note3 SM-N9005 (hltexx) when using TWRP v3.x+, but works fine, when using TWRP v2.8.7.0 recovery.
I use Dual Boot Patcher for install multiple ROMs on my Note3 (note: Dual Boot Patcher supports not just Note3, but more than 300 other phones).

Aroma installer is used by DualBootUtilities, when I want to change to boot another ROM from Recovery.
After suffering a lot from Aroma installer is freezing when flashing DualBootUtilities, I got redirected to this thread, where I found the solution, so I flashed recovery TWRP v2.8.7.0.
Finally, when flashing DualBootUtilities-9.3.0.r407.g9a902091.zip works successfully on Samsung Galaxy Note3 SM-N9005 (hltexx) thanks to TWRP v2.8.7.0! No freeze!

Anyway, I was happy, that installing TWRP v2.8.7.0 solved my problem.
So I have converted my Note for to developer and have an unlocked bootloader and installed TWRP through Odin. I have tried a few times to gain root by installing SuperSU through TWRP, but it just manages to keep looping my phone after it installs. Is there a way to install SuperSU without doing it through TWRP as I think that's the problem?
Also I wouldn't be able to install a ROM until I gain root correct?
Thank you for all of your help

So yea.I don't mean to hijack this thread or anything, but I'm having thebsane issue. I've converted to Dev edition, installed TWRP, and am currently running CM 13. However, whenever I try to use an app that requires root, it says that I don't have root.
I've tried flashing the latest Super SU in recovery, downloading Super SU from the play store, and I've tried flashing the Emotion kernel (when i try to flash that, my screen goes black and I'm returned to my recovery home)
What pre rooted ROMs are out?
And are my issues rooting because I flashed a 6.0,1 ROM before getting permanent root?

Cool, thanks got it to work!
Now my only issue is that once I was rooted and everything I wanted to flash CM13.
I shut down my phone and went into TWRP, I restored and the tried to install CM13+Gapps and it just went into a black screen and started over. I rebooted, but now I'm in a boot loop.
So I am going to start over and regain root, but do you know if I did something incorrectly? How would I go about it? Thank you.

Hmm im not sure (i'm running stock + Emotion kernel). But if you want to go CM13, you dont need to flash the Emotion kernel.
EDIT: you did a full factory reset (via recovery) before you flashed CM13 right?

Cm13 is pre-rooted, root is embedded in the rom, superSu isn't needed, you can turn it on in developer settings.

For me, when I try to flash CM13 through TWRP it'll get to saying "MTP Enabled" in the terminal window, then black screens for a few seconds, and reboots to TWRP. It also doesn't flash CM13, and I'm at a loss for what to do

Guys, hi
There is one more new problem. I tried to update the OTA update but got stuck at boot screen. It's not responding after the Lenovo logo. I think the issue is not having any recovery(custom nor stock). How to fix this issue? Please help me to

# Update the OTA update( I badly want this as I saw that Resurrection Remix requires the device to presently run on stock Lollipop to update. I soo badly want to use CM13

You first hv to root for the installation of recovery.. First root ur phone then install stock recovery.. Using flashify or rashr.
If you can boot into system, then you can use adb sideload to flash zips(recovery or rom).
For detailed info, google it or go to http://www.droidviews.com/sideload-roms-mods-using-adb-sideload/
If it doesn't work, root your phone and then install flashfire. Then use it to flash recovery.

Hello,
Thank you soo much. I flashed TWRP 2.8 using Flashify and it works. Actually I wanted to do a factory reset to solve "Unfortunately the process com.android.phone has stopped" issue. It wasn't allowing me to turn on my mobile data. I couldn't reset the phone too as a recovery was missing. Now the issue is fixed and I'm happy with it. Can I flash the TWRP 3.0.2-0 similarly using Flashify? Also please do suggest some good ROMS bro. Im still on the KitKat version( S040_150805)

Yes it will according to what I've been reading. I just got my pixel and have been trying to catch up with all the new a and b slots and how recovery is now baked into the boot.img, so from what I understand is that if you flash anything new such as rom or kernel a flash of both twrp and your choice of root is needed also or you will have stock recovery. So much different from my Nexus 6P. Lol. I have a lot to learn that's for sure

Yes but you can reflash twrp and magisk with absolutely no errors ,also twrp has no touch issues with the kernal that's already baked in rom!!!! It's a great rom!
Anyone else having trouble getting this to boot?
I've followed the instructions exactly. Reboot to TWRP (3.2.1-0), factory reset via the wipe menu, install the ROM .zip followed by the TWRP installer zip.
Go to reboot, TWRP asks me if I'm sure I want to do this as there's not an OS installed. I don't know what else to do other than say 'yes' and then it boots to the Google logo with the unlocked icon at the bottom of the screen and just hangs indefinitely at that point. Tried redownloading and recopying the ROM .zip to internal storage and all steps again too.
Any ideas? I've wiped this damn phone so many times and flashed the factory images so many times trying to get a custom ROM to work I'm about to give up. And my phone seems to damn janky where sometimes it does that same freeze on boot (or freezes on the TWRP splash screen) but then a quick reboot will fix it. Doesn't make any sense.

Did you let the phone do it's initial boot after deuce's script ran? Or just stayed in fastboot mode, fastboot booted to TWRP, and flash the ROM and TWRP installer zip?
Also, did you format userdata when given the option in deuce's script? And you flashed TWRP before the ROM? I was under the understanding that the ROM flash would erase the TWRP install.
EDIT: I didn't format userdata, didn't reboot afterwards (just booted straight into TWRP and proceeded), and flashed TWRP before ROM and now it is indeed booting. Just need to figure out now whether or not TWRP is still installed. Many thanks! Deuce's must have fixed something I must have janked I guess.
EDIT2: Yeah appears TWRP should be flashed after the ROM not (just) before like the DU post says. I'm back to stock recovery afterwards.
