i had tried everything no use.. anyone please help to root the update version... lenovo k3 note...:crying::crying::crying::crying::crying::crying:
Alright, I first updated my phone to marshmallow, then flashed twrp recovery. Until then everything was alright, it was working just fine.
Then I installed the update.zip for lollipop to root it, and installed the zip via twrp.
It resulted in my phone going into something we all know as "soft brick". It did proceed the lenovo screen, but after that I was greeted with an static black screen. ADB wasn't working either, so I couldn't boot it into bootloader or recovery. I manually booted into the recovery mode using the button sequence (volUp+volDown+power) and wiped the data. Nothing, still didn't boot. Then I finally gave up, downloaded the stock lollipop rom from somewhere, and flashed it via spflash tool. Then updated everything back to marshmallow
In short, the old twrp and cwm recoveries (probably, mostly actually) work with marshmallow, so I guess that's a start
it work well...

ChainFire Beta SuperUser for Marshmallow K3 Note
Hi,
You may try the steps "androiding.how" on how to root the Lenovo K3 Note after the Marshmallow OTA update.
NOTE : THE ABOVE WOULD ONLY WORK THROUGH CWM/TWRP Recovery. Use the older Lollipop TWRP/CWM recovery. It should work.

Interesting, never thought it could be this easy, I literally installed marshmallow the other day and now hopefully now I can root it again
So what's the final verdict boss? Did you try the process yourself? Was it successful? Or am I to be the first guinea pig?
I also got back to stock recovery from TWRP. but my update to marshmallow failed, can you help? I had rooted with Lenovo k3 note manager by prince3v. it also installed twrp. Using the same tool I went back to stock. Thanks.

That supersu file is the one causing problem. I started from scratch, and got marshmallow working. But as soon as I flash data.zip file, it gets stuck at empty black screen. It works without supersu fine, sadly no root.

Heyy guys, this is my first time posting a new thread
Unfortunately, my phone is stuck in TWRP recovery. When it was still working I downloaded Flashify. I don't remember what but when it restarted the phone, it stayed in TWRP recovery and never went back to normal. I tried wiping my phone several times and still won't go back. Then I pressed the option Change or Repair System File or something like that. But I put the wrong option on that menu and now it is completely stuck on the TWRP startup screen , I can't enter TWRP at all.
I tried everything that I possibly could. I even tried flashing a different version of TWRP and Philz Touch but still didn't budge. If y'all have any possible solutions, please speak up. My phone has been like this for about 6 days :crying:
I'm downloading the stock firmware of my model SM-G928F (G928FXXSBPIB). That's the only thing that I think that could possibly make it work. Do y'all think the same or is there something else I could do?
Go in download mode and flash that stock firmware that you downloaded.

Ok so now if you want to root your phone. first install twrp and make sure oem is unlocked. Then when you boot into twrp make sure you dont select that option at the start otherwise you will keep booting into twrp continuously. Next flash cf auto root and then go back into twrp and enable that option that was disabled before you rooted your phone. You should be fully rooted with no errors.
I have went through many tutorials but none of them were able to help me with flashing custom recovery(TWRP). My LG G3 D855 was rooted with towelroot(I think long time ago). I do not know how can I unlock my bootloader or I don't know if it is already unlocked(Picked it off craiglist long time ago). Phone is stuck in fastboot mode. I have tried to fix but I could not. There is no 'download mode'.
Could you please explain each and every step in detail? I really want to reboot my device with a custom ROM.
Phone is running Androind 4.4.2.
So guys? Any help? Just tell me how can I remove that fastboot mode that appears when I restart my device for recovery.

Have you flashed TWRP already?
I have a an D855, I don't think you have to worry about a locked bootloader Mate,
but it was a long time since I got rid of the LG crap, because it was the first thing I did after buying new!
You're on 4.4.2 with towel root so it should very simple to download and flash TWRP using the official TWRP app in Playstore or using an app like Flashify etc.
I basically lost my S7 Edge a week ago so I'm back using my old LG G3 now running Resurrection Remix 5.8(Nougat 7.1.2. AOSP based)
If you wanna run anything using Aroma installer then don't go later than TWRP 3.0.0. for now, because the newer versions don't work.
Either download the Quickboot app to boot to recovery or search on Youtube on how to boot to recovery from off..

The problem is, there is no recovery. Even though flashing TWRP via flashify resulted in nothing but an error showing "Fastboot mode started" when I tapped on option named "Reboot to recovery". This is the main problem I am facing. I can flash, upgrade/downgrade and etc but this fastboot mode thing is something beyond what I can fix with my current knowledge.

Maybe first flash back stock, update to the latest firmware and start fresh from there?
There are some good guides in the forums here for that.
Cheers
Sent from my Google Pixel using XDA Labs
If you've to go back to firmware, don't install the newest. Rooting needs an older version. Also described in root-threads here.
Hi all,
I got some strange problem:
I did an ODIN reinstall of complete OREO stock samsung ROM.
I swiped in twrp but i didnt want that so i reflashed twrp with odin.
Then i got a red screen while i wanted to enter TWRP. I retried flashing, no luck still a red screen. Also older versions.
I do however seem to be able to boot into samsung recovery mode.
I tried to flash twrp with adb. But my phone will not boot into Bootloader mode? It just restarts?
(as i understand, Bootloader mode is NOT download mode right?)
It is soft brick something?
Any help would be appriciated very much.
Thx!
Mrmoves
EDIT: I just found out im on Bootloader 3.
I have flashed the newest OREO a lot of times now with ODIN. Its works. Going into recovery works as well.
Still not able to boot into bootloader, or install TWRP for some reason?
EDIT2: I fixed it!. i flashed the newest OREO for the 5th time or smhting and for some reason i was also able to get TWRP on it again =)
Now rooted with Magisk all working =)
TOPIC CAN BE CLOSED
my nexus 6p just recently crashed while using it, and began to boot loop.
the only thing i can do is boot to fastboot. no splash screen, no recovery.
rom installed was StatixOS android pie, Recovery was TWRP 3.2.3-0, and rooted with Magisk 17.
i had everything except for magisk for a week or so, before eventually flashing magisk, and used it for about another week until now.
i know statixOS rom informed of flashing a BLOD fix if i was on 4 cores, which i did not do since, to my knowledge, i was still using all 8. i am aware of the 6p having bootlooping issues and have tried flashing the fix from here: https://www.xda-developers.com/nexus-6p-bootloop-fix/
i have also tried the modified recovery.img from the statixOS post with no results.
any help would be apreciated.
Okay, something similar happened to me today. The only difference being that I just flashed Magisk and it started happening immediately. I am able to flash a system image and get it to boot once. But Once booted though it loses the recovery. So I tried flashing the twrp before that first boot which asks for a password to decrypt the device and it was not encrypted in the first place. Any password I tell it just erases is the phone next time it boots. If I leave the system image I can get one good boot. So this boot is good I can load my info to the phone but it has so little battery that it dies before I can do much else. Once dead if I try to boot it, it loops. So I flash another system image and the cycle repeats. So I also tried flashing a stock image then adb sideloading a custom ROM and although the progress bar on the phone fills up, the percentage that my dos window shows only gets to about 46%. The phone states that it loaded successfully but the ROM won't boot. I think this is because its encrypted? That's just a guess, as I am no dev of any kind.
I don't think your issue is caused by the same problem.
Yours might be caused by magic, and I've read v17 has had issues in the past.
I can't get into recovery at all, regardless of what I flash.
Even the nodded versions of tarp to use 4 cores.

well i think this same thing happened to me while trying to flash the same rom, the only other issue is that my vol down doesnt work so i have no way of booting into fastboot that i am aware of. my phone is useless now.

i think there is something wrong with that modded recovery and rom. this is kinda strange.
My 6p also crashed after flashing the latest statix os and magisk. It crashed in the middle of the night. Now it goes into indefinite bootloop showing the google logo and warning screen. I tried flashing stock firmware several times and also the 4 core patch but still no signs of life. Please update if anyone has a fix. Tried the 4 core twrp too. but cant get even to the recovery.

You need to open the phone, I know it sucks.
Anyhow, I just managed to help one member from the StatiXOS community by let him flash this recovery.
Try to flash it via fastboot and try to boot up into recovery.

Did you wipe the internal storage after you flashed StatiXOS? This step is necessary.

I was running Statix rom for a day before it crashed on me. I installed magisk and the EX kernel on top of the statix build. My phone crashed in the middle of the night while i was sleeping.
I found my phone low on battery next morning and when i put the phone on charging I found it bootlooping endlessly.
I tried entering recovery through bootloader but phone was not going into recovery. No matter what option i click on the bootloader i.e. factory reset or recovery, it shows the warning screen and then the google logo and restarts to do the same. I tried flashing stock rom and it flashes without any errors. But still the same result, BOOTLOOP. I cannot get my phone into recovery be it stock or twrp.
I even tried flashing the 4 core recovery in the OP, but 6p is still adamant on the bootloop cycle.

there's your problem. Don't install any custom kernels, especially since EX hasn't been updated for Pie. Also, you may have a dud battery. Have you re-flashed TWRP?

My current situation is that no matter what i flash through my bootloader, let it be twrp, stock rom, 4 core recovery or each individual file from the stock image through fastboot commands, it restarts to bootloop.
My battery was replaced few months back and was giving me solid standby time, so cant blame it. All i am trying is to get to boot my phone to recovery which it refuses. Cant understand whether its the file system that is damaged, but my flashes returns me no error, and also i formatted through fastboot whichever partition i could. Still cant see any life.
I am having the same issue. I was running Statix with no custom kernel or magisk for about a week. My device just randomly went into boot loop. I tried to flash back to stock file by file... still bootloop. I flashed that 4 core patch and the twrp... still bootloop. I can get into recovery, but I don’t know what to do from there because no matter what I flash, it always ends up in bootloop. Any ideas?
