Hey guys, I am using the g900f model, marshmallow rom android 6.0.1.
my proximity sensor broke and I followed this tutorial to disable it:
"with root explorer go to system/lib/hw and go all the way to the bottom to the last sensors file. its an so file. long press on it and open in text editor. somewhere in the page almost at the bottom you will see where it says ProximitySensor then on one of those line it should say mEnabled. just rename it to mDisabled, then reboot and the proximity sensor is fixed."
For some reason after I did it all of my sensors got disabled, proximity, gyro, light, everything.
I changed the file to it's original state by reverting the line to mEnabled and rebooted the device and everything is still disabled, phone just doesn't recognize the hardware.
On the stock rom it only disabled the proximity sensor and I had no problems reverting it, only happens on marshmallow rom...
Any ideas?
BTW can't flash another rom because my power button isn't working and I can't get it into recovery...
Thank you guys for your help.

Hi, i'm cross-posting this for visibility.
So, i'm completely lost. I was playing around with ROMs and mods (the RAM build.prop, for example), and now all my phone's sensors seem to be stuck.
I have reflashed back to completely stock ROM, taken official sprint update. Tried modded ROM, done factory resets, cleared/wiped everything, and still the issue persists.
It would appear my Gyroscope, Accelerometer, Proximity Sensor, and Compass are all not responding at all.
Right now i'm on rooted stock AOJ6.
Does anyone have any ideas? Maybe a corrupted sensor properties file or something similar like that? I'm completely at a loss.
Any help is appreciated.
Guys, it fixed itself. I booted into safe mode, restarted and all the sensors are working again.
I doubt it had anything to do with safe mode, as the sensors weren't working in safe mode.
I have no idea what could have done it. I wish I had a real answer for you.
Hello guys, after I installed DarkLord V1 then V2-2.1, I got rotation issue. When I turn on camera, camera screen button are auto rotated on right landscape mode. and when I take pics pics in gallery are rotated. When I turn on rotation, and I go to gallery, gallery is rotated on right side like landscape mode but phone is in normal position. If I rotated phone, rotation go on wrong side. also same issue with other apps. I have N900T. next, when I install CM12.1 for N900T nightly official - Rotation WORKS lol! all good then. When I flash 5.0 officail stock via Odin, again same issue with rotation. BAck to CM12.1 all good. Now I tried Phronesis Rom v2.0 N5 port, and same issue with rotation. I will pay for rotation fix. If you need some more info from me, logs etc let me know. Ty in advance.

1. Backup all your internal data.
2. Flash via ODIN, TWRP being in one custom rom.
3. Boot in TWRP - Wipe - Advanced wipe - Select all (less USB-OTG and External Card) - Wipe.
4. Reboot in Download Mode (It will ask you that you don't have operative system if are you sure - CLICK yes, and if you need SUPERSU, click no).
5. Download the latest firmware for your device to your pc: HERE.
6. Flash it via ODIN like in the pic attached.
7. Let the process finish till you see PASS in green.

Already done that and even tried with deleting internal data. Im sure that this have some issue with sensors or libgnustl_shared.so which I replaced with permissions rw-r-r
BTW when I installed accelerometer app now, its show wrong info. I guess accelerometer sensor or some accelerometer filr is wrong for rotation. Idk how all good is on CM12.1 Nightly Official, and on stock or any other custom rom doesnt work.

thank you on your time and help but nothing
I too had problems with rotation. This file did it for me. You can try it, you have nothing to lose.

I see you don't have the n9005, so maybe don't try it.

Hello. I have 2 questions for you. 1st is i flashed pacman rom to my device. After that my proximity sensor killed. I formatted my phone and flashed previous rom. Proximity still not working. I tested it with sensor tester. It says your phone not allows proximity. How can i fix it?
And second question is, how can i back to stock system on g7? I cant install system with dload. Thank you all!
I am on OxygenOS 3.5.6. Few days ago my proximity sensor stopped working. The screen does not switch off automatically when I bring it near my ear during a call. Also it does not adjust the screen brightness in dim and bright light. I have to keep the automatic brightness adjustment off because if I turn it on, it just turns the brightness to lowest even in bright light in surroundings. I tried to check the values of the proximity and light sensors in some sensors diagnostics app, but the entry of proximity and light sensor does not show up at all as if these sensors are not even present in my device. I am sure I was able to see the values of these sensors when they were working fine. I have tried apps like AndroSensor, CPU-Z, Sensors test. What could be the reason. Thanks in advance
Have you dropped the phone recently and caused any damage? It's unlikely, as the oneplus 2 is fairly robust. I mean I'm currently using it with a cracked screen after it fell down a scaffold. And I think only reason screen cracked was a unlucky placed stone dead in the corner.
It might be a software issue? As the diagnostic apps say there isn't anything there. This is just a hunch. I'd suggest backing up your OS in TWRP or what ever you use. And doing a cache wipe.
If that fails maybe try flashing a random rom. And gaps. See if that fixes your problem at all? With out seeing the phone and playing with it there not a great deal I can do.
But try the above.

Actually I already did that. I had a nandroid backup of older version of OxygenOS where those sensors were working. I took nandroid backup of current OS and restored the older one. Still couldnt make those sensors work. I havent dropped my phone recently, the sensors stopped working just out of the blue.

Ah I see very odd.
Well I did some searching for you .
There's an xda thread that discusses it found here: http://forum.xda-developers.com/one...overy-teamwin-recovery-project-3-0-0-t3310713 post #2. It comes down to flashing the persist image found in the recovery zip. Which I've only ever done once or twice so sorry I didn't immediately jump to it. In fastboot mode do:
Code:
Fastboot flash persist persist.Img
Its found in the recovery.zip I belive . I hope it helps.

Thanks for taking time to search that thread however the link you posted is broken. I guess you are referring to this post https://forum.xda-developers.com/showpost.php?p=65367381&postcount=54
The above thread is for H2OS and the persist.Img mentioned in this thread is to roll back to lollipop. I am currently on MM OOS so I guess I cannot use those files.
The TWRP recovery for OP2 are available as .img files only and not as .zip as you can see here https://dl.twrp.me/oneplus2/. So just to make sure if that persist.img is available on recovery.zip, I downloaded the zip file of other device and checked but persist.img was not there. I also checked in the full rom zip of MM OOS and persist.img was not there too. So not sure from where to get that img now.
Also is there a way to make backup of my current persist.img in the device? Because I dont want to break my phone any further while experimenting with these flashings.
Hi, few months back i flashed h2os and flashed few custom roms. but later on i found that i had broke all my sensors even camera app doesnt work. No help from service center. pleaseeee help me
Hi, where i can find a Proximity and light sensors for the OP2?
I have one with custom Firmware. Bud the Sensor whont working anymore.
I have just clean it. But no effect
Hi,
I just changed from Stock ROM to latest lineage OS with TWRP. After installing some APPs, i figured out, when call comes in or out, display gets off (dark) and doesnt comes back easily. Now, touch doesnt response so I cant unlock with pattern. Booting to recovery doesnt give me touch response so I cant swipe for "allow changes".
How could i fix this? Maybe with flashing now Recovery or Kernel via Download Mode, but how to do? Thank u
I suggest flashing back to a completely stock ROM and start over.
The screen going black could be an indication of a problem with the proximity sensor. The touch could be a driver issue in the custom ROM.
Edit: Airdroid Mirror doesnt work to unlock pattern lock

Thank u,
but i forgot to tell u there is working USB Debugging with working Airdroid. Befor the issue Airdroid Mirror works great (control movements and clicks via Windows AirDroid Tool), but now with the issue i cant unlock pattern lock with airdroid. No response while moving Finger/Mouse but function keys like home work in Airdroid and also at touch.
Any idea how to fix this special thing? Is this an proximity sensor error?

Don't think the proximity sensor would be related to Android mirror.
Since you can't unlock the phone because the touch does not work, I would flash back to a stock ROM and check as many functions as possible. If the phone doesn't function properly on a stock ROM, it is unlikely to function properly on a custom ROM.

I just flashed one of some stock roms, this one: I9505XXUGNG2_I9505OXAGNG2_DBT frome the thread "go back to stock rom" and did wipe data factory reset. It installed some apps, but then no touch is responding.
I did opened phone, reconnected all cables but no luck. How to bring back touch is working?
Try one of the stock roms from samsung-firmware.org that is specifically for the carrier that originally issued the phone.
Could the problem be a loose connection?
Same problem here. Its an Samsung S4, german version.
I tried the jfvelte-version from https://twrp.me/samsung/samsunggalaxys4valueedition.html and it works great. Touch-screen works like a charm. Maybe this info will help other users.
