Okay, so.. As the title says., my LG Optimus L5 won't boot... Yesterday I flashed a Custom Rom (Project L from Optima Team) and the phone was all good, working fine... But then at night, I turned it off, and putted it to charge... But, suddenly this morning when I was gonna turn it on, I pressed the power button and it wouldn't just do anything, the screen remained black, no vibration, nothing... And when it's charghing, the Open the Door logo (it should be LG Logo, but when I flashed that ROM Open The Door it changed the boot animation) keeps showing up and disappearing...
I really need help to get my phone back please :crying:

you can at least put in download mode? if so, you can become more quiet and follow the tutorial below. if not, sorry: '(
follow this tutorial for their risk account. I'm not responsible for any damage to your phone.
1 - download KDZ updater here http://forum.xda-developers.com/attachment.php?attachmentid=420545&d=1287222698
2 - download the ROM stock of L5 here http://lg-phone-firmware.com/index.php?id_mod=12
3 - download and install drivers for your model of L5. I can not help you this, because I do not know where to find them.
4 - put your L5 in download mode. the buttons that you will tighten to enter the download mode will vary according to the baseband that you are using. It is usually only holding one of the volume buttons (or holding both at the same time) and connecting the L5 on pc without holding the power button. remembering to do so, the L5 must be turned off before starting the sequence above.
5 - before opening the updater KDZ, install MSXML 4.0 SP3 Parser (msxml.msi)
6 - after installing MSXML 4.0, run KDZ_FW_UPD.exe. in "type", leave cdma. in "phonemode", switch to emergency. select the ROM Stock in KDZ format and then immediately click launch software update. now is just wait. do not remove, under any circumstances, the USB cable. can take, but end wait.
I hope I have helped with this

I know how it is. You reminded me of when I wanted to update my Galaxy 551 in order to play a game that was not supported because it worked only on Android 4.0+ and my cell phone was with android 2.3.6. I had downloaded one CM10 for the G551 and I was flashing on samsung recovery. But when I restarted, do not leave the logo of Samsung. I was desperate. took to various techniques assists in a period of about two months and no technical assistance could solve. Then I decided to resolve on their own. I could solve the problem and now my G551 is still in my drawer because the touch does not work and this is due to flex cable corrupted. And think that all this trouble that I lived with my G551 was because of a game hahahahaha
Good luck in recovering your L5!

Greetings all !
Since i am new here, i have a great problem.
So, my phone stopped working few days ago, i needed to log in to my account or something, didnt knew i can fix that with "hard reset" so i googled about 3 hours till i found this forum, great work me !
So i looked a lil bit whats going on here, was searching and searching till i found out how to flash a phone, so i did, and had no success, almost bricked my phone :silly:
So i keepd searching this forum till i found this "

" in a AiO setup here

so i downloaded that "setup" file, installed it, worked great, i was amazed to be honest, but to be honest, this is the worst mod ever made for android. cynamogen mod cyna my ass -.-
So here is the problem, i didnt like that 2.3.7 update at all, and that addon cyna thing, so i waned to roll it back, connected my phone to PC, removed SIM, Mem card, found a workin ROM i installed before (before i found cyna and android 2.3.7), used KDZ, selected all the options required, and started an update using KDZ, after it finished my phone restarts it by it self, and god stuck on "ANDROID" animation, i thought its bootin' so i let it about 20-30 min to do so, nothing happens :/
UPDATE:
Now my phone is stuck on the LG LOGO, i cant do any thing, all i can do is go in DL MODE but its useless, my pc wont recognize it, so does KDZ, nothin is recognizing my phone, any solutions ?
So my question here is:
- How do i install 1.6 or 2.1 OFFICIAL version (can be CUSTOM ROM) i dont care, i just want my phone to work again
- What is needed (apps, kdz files, etc)
- Is this so bad, did i bricked my phone or ?
btw. Here are some infos 'bout meh:
- Location: Bosnia and Herzegovina
- City: Sarajevo
- Provider: BH TELECOM
- Phone: LG GT540 Optimus
if u need more info just ask !
I DO NOT recommend to use kdz.
if you don't like cyanogenmod, you can try
1. aosp 2.3.7
2. some modded 2.1 ROM
3. stock 2.1 from LG
they can be flashed via recovery (clockworkmod)
as you now already used kdz again i'd recommend to try the following: turn off your device and try to reboot into recovery:
press and hold HOME and then press POWER.
hold HOME till CWM boots up.
if this doesn' work you may try fastboot:
press and hold CAMERA, press power and hold CAMERA till you see a black screen, PC should recognize a new device (fastboot interface)
if this doesn't work too try too boot and hold these buttons:

In download mode connect phone to pc and use kdz flasher to flash fastboot enabled rom. Try different modes in kdz flasher (eg. cs_emurdiance).

Hello,
This morning I tried to root my phone so that I can force everything to be moved to a sd card since the storage of the system is low not enough to install apps and to install A mod that is more updated then the current GingerBread OS.
I managed to soft brick the device the rom clearly said e405 obviously the developer has a few bugs anyway I manage to recover from my soft brick by A software 'KDZ' Only issue I have now is when I press volume up on boot I get A notice icon trying to say something (image of the icon is attached below) and when I use ROM Manager to reboot to recovery it will attempt to go there, Instead of going to recovery it goes to A loading page then this erases all my data/apps except SuperUser/Root.
Tried everything and it still does it?
When I use the LG Emergency Software it just goes to a page saying not responding??
Any help and ideas would be grateful so I can fix this issue and move on also im mostly A samsung user and im fairly new to lg.
See thee error message below
Once i get the idea of what the icon is actually trying to say I should be in the right direction.
Thanks,

Perhaps you can go to ROM Manager, uninstall Recovery, then re-install it?
I don't really know. I'm sorta new to this stuff.

I saw that icon after flashing back to stock rom with KDZ and a hard reset worked for me. Pull the battery, make sure you not connected to USB or charger, then press and hold home key and down volume while you press power on. Release power when you see LG logo, hold the down and home for a while until you see android unpacking a box. It takes about a minute to see this, so you gotta wait for it. The phone reboots or shut downs, don't rememberwhich

Still didnt work it flash though but still didnt fix the recovery..
These lg are actually useless a simple firmware flash should do the job.
LG staff are also rude to be honest rang up and because I tried to root and I was doing the right thing going back to stock they denied support and hang up without me giving A reply. Glad ive switched back to samsung s4 and Apple IPhone 5C.
Thanks for attempting to help :.)
Hi everyone
I may have bricked my G2. I use to have a Samsung Galaxy S which I flashed many times so I kinda know when I mess up with instructions. This time though, things look a bit more serious... Anyway, here is what happened:
I flashed the Cloudy G3 rom (1.0) for my G2 D802 32gb. Original rom was stock rooted 4.4.
I followed the instructions :
- Backup rom
- All wipes
- Flash kitkat baseband
- Flash rom zip
- Get through the aroma installer steps
But then, when it asked to reboot, the phone just shut down.
Now it won't turn on. All I have is a quick look at the LG boot logo, and then the screen goes all black (blacklit is still on) again.
All I managed to do so far is maintaining the LG boot logo a bit longer on screen by alternatively pressing volume + or - at random times.
I can't access recovery or download mode anymore.
Plugging the phone will only show the LG boot logo and do all the same.
The phone is no longer recognized by my computer.
When I plug it, I get 13 new windows asking me to format the device and one I can explore.
Inside, there is one folder named "Image", filled with 51,4 Mb of files...
Quite confusing.
I don't know what to do, so any help to get the phone back to work will be appreciated
Thank you in advance.

I really hope the phone isn't dead, it's almost brand new

Are you still under warranty. If you can't get into download mode that means that LG won't be able to either. You could process a return directly from LG.
Problem solved ...
Somehow I did manage to hard reset (vol - & power, wait for LG logo, release and then press vol - & power again) and then access recovery mode, so I did restore my backup (which had been renamed to ... 1970-05-01 ! lol) and my G2 is now back to life.
Weirdest thing ever... Kinda worried about flashing it again now !
Thing to remember : always have a backup file.
You are lucky man! I've done it but nothing after. I can access to hard reset but when I push power button the screen goes black as before ....
Is it actually in "Download Mode"?

So, if my G2 shows "Download Mode" on the screen with the little white dots, but it's not recognized by Windows 7, Ubuntu, or Knoppix, and is for all intents and purposes, non-responsive, does anyone know if it's actually in "Download Mode"?

Hi All,
I hoping some kind soul will guide/lend a helping hand here?
Here's my problem, I own an LG G2 d802, running kk4.2.2, rooted via towelroot.
Today I decided to for the first time to delve into the world of custom ROM's and what a mistake it was
Basically I downloaded TWRP for d802(img), gapps(d802 version), and cm Resurrection Remix and then I made the fatal mistake of using Flashify to flash TWRP to my phone and rebooting. After doing this I can no longer enter download mode, recovery mode, and when I try to go to either I get the ERROR: boot certification verify: secure booting error.
When I i plug my phone into my computer (drivers & LG support tool installed) my computer recognizes my device, however it displays around 10 or so removable drives i.e f, g, r etc and lots of messages appear saying i need to format them before they can be used and Support tool doesn't recognize my phone as being connected at all
I have searched lots of threads and now realize that Instead of using Flashify I should have used Autorec(lesson learned), I have also searched for possible solutions and the only
one which looks remotely viable is here:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2582142
My only problem is I have LG G2 d802 32gb model and the files in the above guide/solution are for the LG G2 d802 16gb 10a and even then if they was the correct files I think i would still have a very hard time following/using the files to make my phone live again and also have no knowledge/exp with Linux distro's.
I am a total noob/idiot and don't have a clue how I am going to fix my phone and have pretty much pulled out whats left of my hair in despair!!
Please help me.
Kindest regards, Dark.

I really don't have the exp/confidence or knowledge to be bale to know if its correct or not and really don't want to make things worse by trying something that may not be right
Can find threads and websites which have similar type situation but all seem to have slightly different to my own as most can seem to have download mode or still be able to boot their OS but i cant do either.

You say in your original post you're running KK 4.2.2. 4.2.2 is Jellybean not KitKat, so which one are you running exactly?
If you didn't use AutoRec your bootloader should still be a Kitkat Bootloader since AutoRec's job is to downgrade your Bootloader to Jellybean.
There are 2 ways to access Recovery Mode on a G2 depending on the current Bootloader.
Method 1 (Jellybean Bootloader)
Turn G2 Off. Hold PWR + VOL DWN, when LG Logo appears let go and hold PWR + VOL DWN.
Method 2 (KitKat Bootloader)
Turn G2 Off. How PWR + VOL DWN, when LG Logo appears, let go and hold VOL UP + VOL DWN.
Do either of those work?

Well since you can't access Recovery Mode, you can't access Download Mode and your receiving a Boot Error, It sounds like your only option here is to follow this tutorial.
As for the files you need, you have a 32GB D802. Download this .7z package and extract it. You'll find all the .img files you need. Now follow the tutorial .

Quick update just before i commenced with the tutorial , i once again tried the key sequence for Download mode and recovery mode and to my surprise got a different result to yesterday!
I now can do factory reset which wouldn't let me do yesterday , have started it but now worried as its been the little green android man with blue spinning cogs in his chest for about for 15 minutes now and fear i may have made things worse

Android man screen has now gone thank god but now in its lace is the dreaded black backlit screen, and when powered off and on again still get the dame LG logo and boot verification/security error oh well was worth a try i guess and back to the tutorial you gave with the files
Hello, cutting to the chase
Model: LG G2 D802
Story time: I tried to install ressurection remix rom through the sideload, after fully wiping my phone ( Wiped system, data, yada yada ) it showed some kind of an error about SU not installing properly, I thought well if I'll reboot TWRP will automaticly install SU for me, so when I tried to reboot it showed that No OS is installed, I thought it's a simple bug so I'll reboot to recovery again to check and bam. Nothing works.
+ Can't boot into recovery ( Tried volume down + power button ) LG Logo shows up and goes blank again ( Note that the screen doesn't turn off, just stays black, after holding it for a couple of seconds I can see screen going off completely but can't turn it on)
+ Can't turn it on normally.
+ Can't boot into download mode.
+After plugging it into an USB it mounts a D lettered drive with 63MB stuff in a folder called image with *.mdt files, modem files( I can screen it if it's important )
I'm clueless, never happened to me even though I flashed a lot of roms, I think I bricked it. Help?
UPDATE: I managed to quickly release Volume Down And Power buttons when LG appeared for half a second and hold it again, succesfully booted into TWRP. I haven't bricked it I think. Will tell how it goes <3
Hey man, how'd it go?
I'm in exactly the same situation as yours, can boot into twrp but nothing else works, i fear of the qhsusb_bulk brick but these people don't even seem to have recovery.
Any suggestions? Go back to stock? How?

How did it go!? I'm in a similar situation (but can boot into download-mode). Would love to get back to twrp, since I want to give it a try to flash another cm (stable). Thanks for sharing your experience...

Hey there, can you specify what you did exactly or where to find!? Do you mean something like this? (can't post outside links, in XDA-forum, title is "LG G2 is UNBRICKABLE NOW! [FIX REAL HARD BRICK]") Thanks for help...
Yes thats it. Lol i still got the files on my pc for my g2 i keep the whe setup cause im on the g3 now i just check in the g2 forums cause i had mine for 2 years and modded the crap outa it but yea i keep all the files on hand so if anything ever happens i can fix it almost on the fly now
Well so what happened to me that I managed to get inside the TWRP. When it lighed it up for a second I quickly released and held again that got me inside magically. So then I just transfered new rom and tried to install again. Sadly I didin't see that the ROM Im trying to install requires bump TWRP and I bricked my phone again. Though I entered download mode and flashed the stock rom through LG G2 flasher.
heres a video i made, how to go into recovery. for those that cant get in to twrp.
