Best battery configuration for Bluetooth users? (Any help heavy bluetooth users?) - Nexus 6P Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

Hi, im a Pure Nexus and Franco r10 user right now, honestly I have good battery life with my wireless headphones and my smart watch.
But I have some questions, I just bought Greenify, I know about NAPTIME (franco) etc, but I don't know how to use greenify in the right way, If I use those apps to get better battery, I just miss my notifications on the watch, etc.
So... what can I do to be ok with battery helper apps, and my bluetooth devices?
(Hope you guys understand my question, pretty weird)

[Q] Best setup for basic phone functions

I've searched around these forums and read up a bit about the different ROMs and kernels. I'm no power user. I won't be playing games or downloading tons of apps. What apps/roms/kernels should I get to optimize these features in this order?
Calling
battery life
texting
speed/responsiveness
sound quality
connectivity
Thanks.

Calling: I recommend Dialer One. Its free on the market.
Battery Life: I would turn off auto sync and would only leave wifi on when using it. Adjusting screen brightness down will also help with battery life. Also, any widgets that use an update service will use battery as well. Turning off notifications and automatic update services in apps helps too.
Speed/Responsiveness: If you're comfortable flashing custom roms than the CM6/7 roms cant be beat for speed. Also an alternate home launcher can help out here too, I prefer LauncherPro (free on market), but Go Launcher EX (free) is also an excellent launcher and is a little more up to date.
Sound Quality: The CM roms come with a built equalizer.
Connectivity: While I dont have any connectivity issues using the custom roms for this phone, there are people that do...
BUT...at the end of the day, the stock rom is whats suitable for 99% of the population and if you're not wanting to ever have any issues ever, than I'd recommend staying stock.

minimal battery os

hi all, My nexus 7 has been sitting for a while because the battery is pretty much shot. I'm looking to use it for a specific application, only needing a basic ics rom, Bluetooth, and play apps. I want to have as little battery drain as possible so keeping it plugged in will allow me to keep using it and this one app. Any advise/suggestions on a low battery stripped down rom ? (sorry for saying os in the subj)
Edit: should anyone want to know , the app I'm using it for is touchdro, an app that takes my milling machine scales and shows me how far I moved in x, y and z directions via a Bluetooth connection.

Opinions of the App Optimisation feature

Hi, just wondering what people think of this feature, i only noticed it since one of the latest 5.1.1 updates, it’s in the battery power saving options.
My phone keeps asking me to optimise my apps to save battery, basically i think it stops any processes in the background if they aren’t used for a number of days.
I have turned most on to optimise and disabled it off for apps i know i use a lot, i must admit i do kind of think there’s a bit of a difference in my battery life, unless there isn’t and I’m just wishing there was lol.. it feels like there’s a difference though.
I think it said somewhere that it can interfere with any apps you like to get notifications from.
I thought I would see what anyone else thinks of this feature?
Regards
James
i thought it was alike of doze in android m but its not. cannot optimize the system app such as android system or google service etc. im not impressed cus i can use greenify or power nap.
Many people call this samsung doze, but its more like a greenify without root app. If used correctly can improve batery for sure

Which Rom, Kernel, etc combo = Best Smooth / Battery Life / Cold Temperature Device ?

I tried to make a decision reading this forum but everyone had a different idea. Below you can see what I need. I beg of you. Please do suggest the best software combo I could use to achieve the following multitasking (at least those 4): Listening to Spotify, Internet Browsing, Whatsapp messaging and VOIP/sip (a service that must run all the time), BUT! without having my hands burned from the cpu/battery's temperature, or at most just 2 hours of a battery lifetime while doing that.
1) I do not care if my phone graphics turn into pacman or Android version 0.1beta.
2) I do not care if I lose the entire Cam's functionality.
3) I do not care about unlocking with double knock
4) I do not care about IR control
5) I do not care about LED functionality
6) I do not care about speakers sound quality (I could even get used to 8 bit sound or low volume sound. I can hear very well xD)
7) I do not care if my phone self restarts randomly 2-3 times a day.
but
1) I do care if phone shutdowns, or totally stops responding, or services hang without auto-restarting.
2) I do care if 3g/4g/data stop functioning
3) I do care about flash functionality
4) I do care about 3.5 jack headphones sound
Thank youuu!
I would suggest using the stock euro 30f Rom combine with dorimanxs 11.1 kernel in battery mode.
I use my phone similarly with this combination and I can assure you, it is the best.
On cm13 stock kernel my phone is always cool and the SOT is 5.5h+

Have you tried Bliss ROM to compare to CM13?
Install the latest lollipop version stock rom for your variant, debloat, install dorimanx kernel, install amplify and greenify. And you are all set.
Or you can use any custom rom with dorimanx , amplify and greenify.
With these, you will get at most 5 hour SoT.
LMK if you need further assistance.

Google Services drain my battery

Hi everyone,
When i view the battery usage, i see that Google services isbthe first process drain my battery. Do you have idea why ? And how to fix it.
I have N910C with stock rom.
Thanks.
I have the exact same problem.
This might be a bad update from google .
I installed naptime and wait to see if it gets better .
I didn't make a change in the phone, but it's a strange.
Why don't you block it and do not allow it to work in the background anymore? In this way, you can control when and how much Services will work.
Hi, thanks for your answer.
How can i block them ? With greenify, it is already.
I tried them all: greenify, amplify power nap, force doze etc .
For me the best battery life I get is when I just let my phone do what it wants.
It does show a big number of wake locks but they don't appear to impact battery life as much as you would think .
If you really want to get rid of most battery drain in standby you can just disable WiFi and mobile data but I wouldn't do this as you won't get any more messages from what's up or Facebook .
Otherwise just leave it alone . Android knows what it's doing .
Is there any life w/o google?
Yes. it is.
I have rooted my 910C, installed Nemesis Refined (gorgeous ROM with a lot of wonderful elements, including a great battery saver kernel - SpaceLemon), then I ditched every google service and if need I login from browser and that's it.
And so there is F-Droid, Aptoide, APKPure, and others.
Never ever had any security problem, my apps run smooth w/o hiccups, and my phone has a new, reborn, life!
Of course, there is Xposed with Greenify, Amplify, and others alike.
Guys, try it, you don't know what you loose if you keep your phone steered by google.
Good luck!
If you need more info, here I am.
Have a nice week-end all!
The problem is gone when disabling 4G and using Wifi with 2G only.
