I'm running the latest Cyanogenmod 13 nightly on my Nexus 6P, without gapps. Unfortunately, I do not have an HDR option in the camera (tried AOSP and Google camera).
I already flashed the vendor.img from Google. Any idea what I could do? I do not want to install gapps.
Google camera has HDR mode. Not sure what your talking about.. I'm using AICP which is CM base and I use Google camera and HDR mode every day.

I'm talking about not having HDR mode in Google camera. I assume you're also running no gapps? I would be interested in how you managed to get HDR.

Never heard of anyone not using gapps and I've been around 5-6 years. I use open gapps mini package. Work great and have what I use in them.

If anyone can tell me how i can get HDR mode without flashing gapps, I would highly appreciate it. On a side note, I've never faced this problem on my Nexus 4, also without gapps.

Why use a Google phone with no Google apps installed? In that case go buy a diff phone. That's a waste of money to buy this phone and not use it to its full potential.

I think Google cam and maybe open camera are the only ones that support hdr. Might be wring about open though.

Where are you getting the Google Camera apk from? Was this an issue in any previous nightly? I don't know why HDR mode would be absent unless it was: an older apk, a situation where HDR mode is proprietary so other files are missing, or it's a bug with that nightly.

Personal preference. No different than how I like one rom/kernel/mod and you like another. Not everyone lives in a country where they have to buy through Google.

I'm getting it directly from the Google Play Store, through Raccoon, so I definitely have the latest apk. If it's proprietary, then I'm not sure where exactly HDR mode is coming from. Like I said, I've been using a Nexus 4 for many years, without gapps, and always had HDR mode. Now on the 6P I don't. I've also tried many nightlies and it's always the same issue. I even got the latest Nexus 6P firmware from here: https://developers.google.com/android/nexus/images (MMB29Q), and flashed the vendor.img from it, but that didn't enable HDR either. Perhaps I need to flash something else from this package? It contains the following items:
- bootloader-angler-angler-02.45.img
- flash-all.bat / flash-all.sh / flash-base.sh
- radio-angler-angler-02.50.img
- boot.img
- cache.img
- recovery.img
- system.img
- userdate.img
- vendor.img (this is the one I flashed)
Like I said, apart from the actual firmware (which is unavoidable), I don't want any Google on this phone. If anyone knows, what's causing the issue with HDR mode, please let me know. Everything else works great, so this is a bummer.
Have you by any chance found a way around it?
I'm currently in the same boat, running Omnirom without Gapps.
HDR is missing. Only HDR+ is available. Google removed it from final update.

Well, unless something is different now, if you have a phone with more then 32gb, you should never flash userdata.img as it screws up your storage and you wont have the full amount of space after flashing that image. For example, if you have a 64gb phone will report 32gb if I'm not mistaken or something close to that.

You need to install/flash the "camera42_patched_v2.zip"- Package via your recovery.
Just google for "camera42_patched_v2.zip" (I'm not allowed to post a link )
For me it works perfect on my NexusS cm10.1 (20120103) but you have to disable the "GPS position" otherwise the gallery-app will crash during the rendering.
Not to forget: after installing/flashing you will have two gallery apps. The new one has all you need including picasa sync. You can uninstall the old one by using a root file explorer and deleting "/system/app/gallery2.apk".

From Cyanogen mod Google+ page
Code:
# CM 10.1 is based on Android 4.2.1. Any and all proprietary applications that
you have installed outside of CM should be updated to their 4.2.1 counterparts.
Do not use the 4.1 versions of proprietary applications, else you will
experience difficulties.
# Do not use the CyanogenMod Updater to go from 10.0 to 10.1. While you will
have a functional rom, due to the 1st bullet point, you will be left without your
proprietary applications and their data. We highly suggest performing the initial
install manually via recovery (flashing CM and your addons). Once you are on
10.1, you can use the CM Updater as per normal.
# You do not need to wipe when updating to 10.1 if coming from an earlier CM
version. However, as we mentioned in the weekend's PSA, users updating
(instead of wiping) will experience a conflict in the application data for the
Clock app. You are advised to clear this apps data on first boot of 10.1.
# Another item to note is that the support for the 10.0 feature that allowed for
an expanded number of targets on the pattern lockscreen is not in 10.1. If you
use this lockscreen, disable it before updating from 10.0.
# Finally, we always advise that you create a backup before any update. Do
note, however, that due to Android 4.2 changes to support multi-user mode,
your backups will automatically be transferred to /sdcard/0/[backup folder].
Remember this when attempting to restore 10.0.

Everything works loving me some CM10.1 when it comes to custom ROMs I think Cyanogen Mod is the best I've always said it since CM7. This ROM & Rasbean are the only ones I have on my phone. Rasbean took over for Pete's bugless beast when I want a close to stock ROM with some features & CM when I want tons of features & themes galore!!

I noticed the data "tile" doesn't switch off when 4G is connected... Luckily this ROM also has the toggles... I can turn data on/off using that one, no problem... Turning data on with the tile works fine... Its just when 4G is connected that you can't use that tile to turn data off... Minor inconvenience I can live with for now...
Also, anybody have a change log or list of current features? I noticed the "sync" tile isn't included... I haven't seen that tile on any ROM or mod for tiles... Anyone know if aokp ROMs have it?

Probably cm camera app doesn't have support also 20121212 Gapps is not support it too for crespo. Look at the gapps zip inside, optional folder not have photosphere for crespo. So it means you have to use another gapps which support photosphere for Nexus s.

i guess this will never happen until the cm team will add support. You will loose cm features every time you install your fix.
Put together using PA GApps's structure and updated files from different ROMs, together with factory images.. The install script will show the it'll install pa_gapps-full-4.4-20131126-signed.zip, but, in reality, it will install the new files compatible with 4.4.x The backup script works, but I highly recommend installing GApps at each ROM update, since, sometimes, it just doesn't work very well. I always flash GApps when updating, and I never have issues this way.
You can either wait for the OP of PA GApps to update the package, or use this.
I am not responsible for any damage to the device. Do a backup before, just in case! A boot loop is the worst case scenario that can happen. Didn't happen on my end, and I hope it won't happen to you guys, either.
Enjoy!
UPDATE 12-Dec-2013
Pack updated with 4.4.2 files.
NOT compatible with ART (didn't test, though - might as well work, since the base structure and files from PA's GApps and BaNkS' GApps are ART-compatible; in case you want to test out, do a nandroid first!)
PhotoSphere installs only on hammerhead, manta, mako, razor; no Google Dialer
Link #1
PhotoSphere and GDialer for all devices (Might cause errors, two dialers & two cameras, beware! It's a forced method, by including both the dialer and camera in /system/app and /system/priv-app)
Link #1
GApps mini modular package
Link #1
Credits go to BaNkS for letting me use files from his GApps.
Credits go to hanschke for testing out.
Credits go to TKruzze for the structure of GApps.

Woks fine with omniRom 4.4.1 release nightly (homemade), here.
I'm impatient and pagapps 11/26 was NOT playing well with others causing force closes, rail especially with ART.
I wiped system, cache and dalvik (kept data), flashed omni v2 of yr apps (i have m7ul) and supersu, flashed omni and it stopped my apps fc's (yay!) only thing is it gave me a second camera and gallery (i thought gallery is gone on 4.4.1) but I just fixed my nova homescreen and so far so good.

Definitely worth a try, or if someone has time to deodex it that might work. I want to play around with it more, but I have to go to work, hopefully someone can get it running by the time I'm done!:good:
would you have to be rooted to push this?
you do realize that its just the google camera? you wont get any new features, as itll only show the features that are actually possible from your phone, just like the play store version. lol.
Wasn't sure if it was like moto camera in the play store, and how its limited to certain devices. I figured it could be a newer version than is currently available to all devices in that regard. The current published version is 2.7.008, the one posted is 3.0.026. It could at least have the updated UI, regardless of features.
Google will release Camera v3 for all devices running L and M, since its their first version to use the new Camera2 API. They could do it next week or it could take months, who knows.
If we're lucky, it'll somehow enable the Nexus 6 to do high-speed video recording as well... since as far as i'm aware, the hardware is capable of it, just no software support yet.
And am i the only one who's annoyed that pictures you take STILL look like crap when zoomed in using Google's Photos app?

why do you use the google photos app? i dont use it. i use the aosp gallery . and its working on marshmallow!
You have a link for where to download the latest version? Or is it in the Play Store as well? I've always used the gallery app before, but I've been running stock Marshmallow since it came out. Kinda waiting for the Slim team to get some 6.0 lovin before I switch back to custom roms.
i was waiting for the camera to be ported but from 6P since its the one with slowmo capability, 5X doesnt!
but still good if we can run this one. gonna wait for success results.
it dose not installed
I tried to push the apk and odex to /system/app/ but there is no space for it (16MB empty space)

thats a known issue.
either remove some system apps (google apps) using titanium backup or similar app or go into TWRP and resize the system partition.

Finally got through doing that. Copied the apk into /system/app/GoogleCamera and the .odex into the folder inside there that contained the previous .odex. Rebooted and still cannot find the app in drawer/search or anywhere...any help?

You might have to fix the permissions. We also might just be SOL for now.

I'm just curious if anyone else has gotten the offline viewing (download) for Netflix to work? I thought it had to do with rooting, but my Samsung note is rooted and it works. I've tried it on Omnirom and resurrection remix unsuccessfully. The only other thing I can think of is it's a Nougat/Android N issue.

A few articles I've read listed a number of devices that have been listed as compatible, and there are definitely tablets listed. There are several devices that allow downloading that are not on the list as well.
I'm just curious if anyone else managed to get it working somehow since this is my largest method of media ingestion.
I tried to put a Netflix version which could support downloading for offline use.
Its very frustrating that I could not get it working. So now I do not see very much purposes for my old Nexus 10 tablet. I wanted to watch some movies/series on the way home in my commute.
If anyone finds any solution please could you post it here.
Still using stock on my nexus 10 but latest asop rom on my very old nexus 7 2012 now allows netflix downloads. Maybe look into asop rom for nexus 10? (If it exists?)

I've narrowed the problem down to our model I think. I've tried both Omni ROM and resurrection remix and neither allow Netflix downloading. But I've tried stock and resurrection remix on my old Samsung Note 3 and it works fine. I may try tweaking the model in the build prop to see if that works.

I believe it checks some DRM stuff. Try last official Google release (lollipop). I would guess it might work with that.

Any luck with the build prop?
So far my conclussion is that, like someone else here said, it doesn't depend on root/unroot or stock/rom, the device is just not compatible.
I talked to Netflix Support and they said that they have a list of compatible devices but not one of incompatible ones, so basically they're still expanding the compatibility among more devices. But being honest the N10 wasn't a very very popular device, so in the best case scenario we will not see official support for the device in a long time.
Hi guys! I'm also facing the same problem, although with a different device (oneplus x). It worked for me with CM13 but after updating to Nougat (lineage 14) the option is gone. Frustrating!
Solved Offline Viewing issue
I got Netflix offline viewing working on a Nexus 10 running LineageOS 13. You have to download and flash the updated WideVine DRM libraries. I have tried this method on 6.01 and 7.1.1 AOSP roms and it doesn't seem to work. The only ROM I could get it to work on was LineageOS 13, but at least it is working. I can't find the download link for the libraries and XDA won't let me post an outside url yet, but try searching for "LineageOS 13 updated Widevine blobs" or something like that. If you can't find it, send me a message and i will upload it and send you a link.
I also changed my build.prop to make it look like a Nexus 9, but I don't think that actually did anything.
I hope this helps.

Yeah man it worked for me too, Lineage13. Thanks!
I downloaded a movie and a Tv show, but the quality is not good enough. Even if I set the download quality to high, the quality on a device with a screen like this is ... not what I expected.
By the way first I forgot to set the download quality to high, than I tried to download the same movie with high quality on and I received a message: "This title can be downloaded 1 more time before April 25, 2018"
Twice in a year? I've never heard about this rule before...

Well, It didn't work for me, I flashed the file he said and nothing happened. Maybe it's a rom related problem, I'm running Omni on 6.01 so I think I would try with LineageOS.
This is the link for the Widevine Libraries anderpups shared with me, maybe it works for somebody else.

And it is running pretty smooth so far, even the 'swipe up' in the homescreen feels more refined and less prone to open the whole app menu instead of the last used apps. One cool thing is the weather in the lock screen seems to be working, the testing continues but so far so good !

What version of twrp are you using? Does it decrypt data?
I have had to use version 3.2.0 with usb-otg method for flashing zips. The later versions do not recognize the usb-otg partition.

I always fastboot boot twrp 3.2.1.0 and then flash stuff from internal storage. I don't have problems with decrypting I guess.

Magisk 16.4 beta for myself.
bad battery life
Hi Guys! Is it just me, or the battery life on this version sucks ?
I have almost only the half of the battery at end of the day compared to the previous preview version (and 8.1).
I don't think I use anything different, no new applications. Even using the same apps (like google news, chrome, plum) make the phone go hot.
Does anyone have the same problems?

I used it as a daily driver from release until yesterday. I only dumped it because my kids wanted me to play pokemongo with them and it wouldn't login on the beta. Aside from that one issue (and google pay not working) it was perfect.
My sentiments exactly........pretty perfect indeed

confirmed, looks like it was a PTC login issue.
How is the battery life for you guys so far?
Edit: Couldn't wait for an answer and flashed it anyway.
Working great so far. Battery life seems to be the same compared to Oreo. Few things I noticed:
1. As someone already mentioned here, the brightness levels must have changed somehow. I usually use my phone at 15 to 25 % indoors. Have to set it to 35 to 40 % now.
2. Weather doesn't appear on lock screen, but other people seem to be affected by this as well.
3. The back button (new layout) sometimes closes an app instead of going back within the app.
4. Fixed my problems with Smart Lock. It didn't work from time to time on Oreo. Now it's working fine.
