Is your device new?
Have you drop it before?
If yes then the cells in the battery has damaged
if no, you can try calibrating it

Do you have a recommended calibration method. I tried one a while back but it didn't help.
Am uprooted, a
I want to calibrate it
Well i use root and what you should do is Charge the battery to full then unplug the charger > Use phone normally without charging until the phone depletes at 0%
Recharge the phone to full again and PROFIT
No root needed
2. Method > Charge the phone to 100% > unplug > use it normally
Must be faulty battery because we have done that repeatedly

I had the same problem, just buy a new one from anker. They work great, I got 2 along with a external charger. I keep one in my car armrest and one in my office and I never charge my battery anymore, I just swap them out.

You're right. I just realized that too he didn't say anything about charging. Oops. It's that darn battery bug.

So I have these powerbank that you can carry it while charging your smartphone. My question is which one the best to charge it.
A. Keep on charging it until the battery of the powerbank runs out
B. Charge my Nexus 4 when I don't use it (I often carry a bag). And unplug it when I use it. And plug it again when I don't use it.
C. Charge it when the battery is on 20% and keep on using my N4 while it being charge
Thanks a lot guys:good:
This is really tricky, it really depends on how you use it.
If you use the charger while using your phone the charging will be slower.
If you do 'A' then if the phone is full then it would waste power from the powerbank which you will need later.
I often do 'B' but that is using the car charger and/or home so no external sources and also use the device most of the time with the car charger.
Because the Powerbank is limited on battery you will have to stick with a partial 'C' but also unplug and switch off the Powerbank then your device is fully charged and you can use the device while charging but has mentioned above it will take longer and you will most likely use more battery on the Powerbank.

Well thanks andyabc. Just one more question Is it okay if I play games while charging my phone. Does it will make the battery easily broken?

Is it okay if I keep my N4 charge up all day. I mean, I will unplugged it if I go out or something like that

I think the best way is to use it when your Nexus' battery is almost die, and resist the urge to use it when it is being charged - unless when you're really need it. I guess checking some messages is fine, but not playing games when it's being charged. That way, you can save your battery and your phone. And I don't think it's a good idea to overcharged your phone.
So I'd pick B!

The battery always is a big problem
i hope some of you have experienced this. i'm on carbon rom right now. sometimes when i'm in the middle of an app, it's just turn off and when i plug it in and turn it on the battery is at 0%. i've done a factory reset.
I have never had that happen before. Does your battery meter move? Like does it say sit at 50% for ages then all of a sudden your phone turns off.
Sent from my Nexus 4 using Tapatalk
no, but it does happen around 50% from my experience.

Try out another ROM to see whether the battery drain still happens. If no, then it's the ROM's kernel.
Yeah I would try another rom or hell even stock. Maybe your battery is defective if a new rom doesn't help

It's hard to tell from the info you've posted. But you're screen is on all the time so it looks pretty normal. How much screen on time to you get?
Sent from my Nexus 5 using XDA Free mobile app
2.5 hours of screen on time and taking 5 to 6 hours for full charge

2.5 hours is on the low end of normal, but not unheard of. When charging are using usb? That sounds right. If you're using ac that's long. When charging go to settings, battery and it'll show ac or usb charging

I'm not sure if you're using a wall charger or not. If you are your cable is probably bad. It could also be your charger

I have also tested it with Samsung and Motorola chargers but it's taking lot of time to charge
Hot Google Nexus 4. Yikes! Help!
So I dialed in *#*# 4636*#*#, went to battery information and Holy F*ck.I was just downloading an app or two on the Play Store. (My hands feel like they've been bitten by red ants.) I am seriously gonna lose it on this phone I actually plan on putting it on the freezer the next time this occurs. I just finished doing a factory reset btw so..
