Hi,
Having my HD since a week, I am doing synchronisation with windows mobile on vista x64.
Everything is fine using the usb data cable but not using bluetooth.
The HD is recognized as I can see HTC50 but as soon vista starts, I am requested to provide a driver that I have found nowhere.
If I go in the vista device control panel, there is a bluetooth device not working properly as no driver available.
Contacted the HTC hotline, they told me they will call me back within 48 hours.
It was 5 days ago...
Anyone having the same problem or a solution?
Friend of mine with Vista64bit also had problems, and bought Bluesoleil 64bit for better profile support. You can testdrive it with 2mb limit.
http://dontknowme.at/http://www.bluesoleil.com/
Thanks Lucas but for me it is the job of HTC to have a smooth integration within an OS like vista.
If not I will sell this device and go for an iphone.

The problem is probably the driver on windows vista, so switching to another phone will not help much. Besides..."smooth integration within an OS like vista" and "iphone" you have got to be joking!!!

Please guys,
Could someone tells me he succeeds to synchronise the touch hd with a vista x64 through bluetooth?
The HTC support finally called me back asking to reinstall windows mobile 6.1 vista x64 but didn't work...
AFAIK this will not work with Vista. At least not with the Vista bluetooth stack.
I have the same problem you describe with my Wizard and my Diamond.
After switching to the Widcomm bluetooth stack I remember being able to synchronize my phones over BT.
I don't know exactly where the problem lies and if only HTC is to blame here.
I'm sorry, I can't give you a solution here.
Still, if you like to give it a try, go to
http://update.broadcom.com/BTWUpdate/downloads/btwinitialupdate.exe

I sync my Hermes with my Vista 64bit.
But I don't know wich BT-Stack is installed.
My laptop is an Asus V1S.
HTC customer support line
Dont hold your breath waiting for them to get back to you, i waited two months to get a reply email asking me to call their helpline.
Absolutely useless!!!!!!!
yeah, same problem at my side......
I'm using IBM T61p, and the update from broadcom site doesnt work......
Yesterday I have come across something interesting.
I had to hard-reset my device and afterwards it would not be recognized in Windows Mobile Device Center when connecting via USB cable. I heard the sound from the Device Manager, so Vista knew the device was connected, but it wouldn't show up in WMDC.
So I reinstalled WMDC, but still no luck.
But - and here comes - I was able to pair my HD over bluetooth with my PC and Vista installed the bluetooth drivers for the phone! I am now able to synchronize over bluetooth!
Sadly synchronizing over USB cable does not work any more.
For all of you having trouble with WMDC and bluetooth, try reinstalling WMDC 6.1, maybe this helps.
Regards
K_Hismoom
I too could never get a connection initiated from WMDC to the HD, with standard Vista Bluetooth. Pairing the the Vista desktop pc with the HD never was a problem, but Activesync. Then I tried to start the sync from the HD - and it worked.
Go the the Settings tab in TouchFlo3D, and use the first tab "Sync data" (Daten synchronisieren in German), and the HD connected itself to the WMDC, via the Hama Nano bluetooth dongle using standard Vista drivers. Give it a try!
OK, finally I got it work successfully.
The way to connect HD with PC, have to from HD to PC, can't from PC to HD.
I'm doing steps as follow:
1. set your PC's bluetooth as discoverable.
2. at HD side, search PC with bluetooth
3. after that, pair HD with PC
4. open your active sync on the HD, and select connect with bluetooth
5. after connected, everything works
Now I can explore my HD on my PC, everything is OK.
I have the same issue. I keep getting a message on my vista pc that Windows cannot install the device driver for a bluetooth peripheral.....very annoying!!
i also have this problem (vista cant find drivers). i'm trying to get the beta sideshow app workinng.
any help would be great.
thanks
Touch HD driver problem
I am having some bluetooth problems too but not exactly as you describe. I have a Touch HD and have it syncing over bluetooth with my Lenovo laptop (Vista32) and my PC (Vista64) fine. However, everytime I connet the phone, Windows tries to install drivers for it but can't find them. The drivers seem to be bluetooth related because if I go into Bluetooth Devices and click the Touch HD and search services, either nothing is listed or sometimes just "telephony". So I can't use any of my phones bluetooth profiles like internet sharing.
I have a weird feeling that it has something to do with the Touch HD Hotfixes that HTC has released recently.
Has anyone out there been able to fix the issue?????
luketoms, I have exactly the same problem as yours with my HTC Touch Pro and vista x64. This related to bluetooth driver in my point of view.
I haven't found any solution for that.
Has anyone a clue ?
Thx
I share your problem too, luketoms & gbouille. Espescially annoying, since I have connected my HD before sucessfully, with Vista locating the right drivers from Windows Update, displaying it as a HTC Touch HD T8282. Independent from WMDC.
Now, it seems my HD and laptop are no longer friends.
Does it say 'Missing bluetooth peripheral device'? If it does, right click on the device for properties. Click on update driver OR
Go to device manager, you'll see an unknown device named bluetooth peripheral device. Double click it to open its properties
Click 're-install driver' on the second tab.
Click Browse my computer for driver software' button
Click 'Let me pick from a list of device drivers on my computer'
There may be a list asking for device type, select 'bluetooth radios'
On the next page there will be a list of company names on the left side and a list of drivers on the right. In the company list choose 'Microsoft Corporation' ... not 'Microsoft'. Confirm selection is microsoft corporation.
On the drivers list there may be one or more driver versions for the mobile phone, select a newer version.
Click next, and ignore any warnings and keep pressing next
Then it shows successfully installed drivers
phabreel : it does indeed! Thankyou. Still, windows will not recognize the HD as a PAN compatible device when searching for it through the bluetooth wizard. And it has done just that before!
Hello,
i bought a htc shift and i have put win 7 on it with all the drivers also the bluetooth radio. If i try to connect the shift to my bluetooth stereo headset it says that the bluetooth peripheral device driver is missing .i searched in many forums and the solutions there are to change the driver from the device list to windows company but i cant find this in my device list just windows. so is there any other driver or what can i do ?
thank you
Dear XDA members,
I would like to post my problem, perhaps there are more members with this
problem.
I cannot contact my desktop or laptops with the bluetooth from my Note.
I had the same problem with my Galaxy SII.
Seems that Samsung is bringing products on the market without proper
drivers?
I asked them with this device how to solve this problem, they replied with the
advice of a hard reset, which didnot work.
Other devices work without a flaw with bluetooth.
Does anyone has a opinion or solution for this problem?
Would be great.

I can confrim this problem.
Windows 7 x64
Galaxy note with not-so-updated firmware, but doesn't really change things.
Laptop and phone see each other and pair well.
Phone can only see laptop as media audio device. Laptop can only see phone as media device.
Transferring file in either direction doesn't work, whatever method I use (start from BT devices, and choose send file, or open the bluetooth file transfer app from start menu, or even use myphoneexplorer in BT connection to send files).
While MPE returns an obex error, the other two methos start as if they were going to do the transfer, but the transfer never starts.
I tried sending files to my laptop, but I only ended up having a queue of sends that won't process, and cannot be cleared, staying after a reboot.
So unless there is some weird problem with my current firmware/kernel, somehow the note can't move files with windows 7.
I have found pretty much evidence elsewhere that people are having the same problem even with the S2.
Now that I bought a laptop with BT, it's silly that I need to plug a cable to move files...
I don't know what's wrong for you guys but I've got Windows 7 x64. Everything work perfectly on my Note, I mean I can send files in both ways. I haven't installed any additional program on my laptop to do so.
I'm on stock LA4 not rooted.
So here's the deal.
I had frozen several things regarding bluetooth from titanium backup, trying to defrost them didn't work for a problem in the app, so I gad to do the batch power defrost to reactivate them, and turns out that was the culprit
Bluetooth device driver installation unsuccessful
Hello Friends, I am facing a problem.
I was pairing my device with my laptop and everything followed smoothly until the last step.
The pop-up in the taskbar displayed -
"Device driver software was not successfully installed"
On my laptop,
Control Panel > Hardware and Sound > Devices and Printers > Bluetooth Devices
the name of my device appears but there is a yellow triangle with an exclamation mark besides it.
The Troubleshoot option seems futile as well. The message that appears after Troubleshooting has completed is, "Troubleshooting was unable to automatically fix all of the issues found" and the Problems Found displays, "Bluetooth Peripheral Device doesn't have a driver - Not fixed - a red circle with an X mark".
What could be the issue(s)? Please help me rectify it/them. I have Samsung Kies 2.0 installed on my laptop.
Just tried it for the first time on windows 7 x64 using my note on German LPY (worked on GB too) and it searched windows update and installed these drivers:
Bluetooth A2DP Source
Bluetooth AV Remote Control Target
Bluetooth OPP
Bluetooth Phone Boook Access
Bluetooth Handsfree Audio Gateway
Bluetooth Message Access Profile Server
Then it worked perfectly in sending files and listening to audio. Did these install on yours?

Thank you for your response rowee270.
Since I had not payed attention to all the drivers being installed after pairing my device the first time, I repeated the procedure again!
The result of post pairing is -
Bluetooth Headset AG - green check mark - Ready to use
Bluetooth OPP - green check mark - Ready to use
Bluetooth AV Remote Control Target - green check mark - Ready to use
Bluetooth AV Source -green check mark - Ready to use
Bluetooth Peripheral Device - red circle with X mark - No driver found
My Samsung Galaxy Note is running on stock ROM with no root, Android 2.3.6 and my HP laptop is running on Microsoft Windows 7 Ultimate Service Pack 1 x64.
Did you try installing Samsung Kies?
May help with drivers.

Obviously you need to install the driver for that Peripheral device.
I don't quite understand why it didn't install automatically. Maybe your computer company support page might have bluetooth drivers?
This page has someone who fixed their Peripheral Device problem:

I have a HP Pavilion g6-1014sa laptop but I cannot the name of the bluetooth adapter.
The HP website has two different sets of bluetooth drivers for said model. One is Ralink/Motorola Bluetooth Adapter Driver and the other is Broadcom 2070 Bluetooth Software and Driver.
http://h10025.www1.hp.com/ewfrf/wc/...en&cc=uk&dlc=en&sw_lang=&product=5081125#N320
The aforementioned drivers are listed under the category Driver - Network.
Although I have installed Piriform Speccy 1.6 on my laptop, I am unable to pinpoint the name of the bluetooth adapter.
I am pathetically stupid.

You might be lucky and get a hint by looking in the Device Manager. There should be a item with a red cross to show it's not working. It's name/properties may tell you the correct manufacturer.
I don't think it would hurt to install the incorrrect driver as it simply won't find the hardware device to use. If you want to be careful, you can create a drive snapshot in System Restore and restore it back if it doesn't work.
Hope it helps
i have installed w8 pro with media centre on my LENOVO G560 LAPTOP
its has a inbuilt bluetooth and wifi...
but i cant able to turn on bluetooth...as shown in screen shot..
and sometimes same with wifi also...
wat to do plzz help
I have a similar problem with my Sony notebook except only with Bluetooth. Doesn't happen all the time but windows sometimes stops the driver from working. The only way to get it working is to reboot or disable then enable driver in device manager. Have you messed with your drivers at all cause maybe there are new ones for windows 8 if you did an upgrade from 7

I don't know if you have tried this but on some laptops the various devices are disabled unless FN+(F-Key) is pushed.
For example, I have a laptop that has wireless, it is disabled unless I do FN (Function) F10, that enables the radio for wifi and allows me to turn it on and use it... perhaps its something similar...
I have done a fresh install of windows 8
And installed drivers of w8
From downloading it from Lenovo site
And for mine laptop the keys are fn+f5
I have tried that
But from it only happening flight mode on and off

All i can say is: "Bios"
I had the same problem with my ASUS EeePC 1005HA after installing the Win8.
In the Bios the Bluetooth and Wi-Fi has been set to "Off". Have it to "On" and finished with F10 and since it works flawlessly. :good:

It's possible, mine worked fine (using kies drivers probably). The only thing i noticed is a yellow mark (!). You can get rid of that to disable sms in the bluetooth settings.

Broadcom
Hi,
I had troubles installing my S4 on windows 7 using windows drivers.
I uninstalled all Bluetooth software then cleared device driver build-up with USB Deview.
I then installed Broadcom Device Drivers, and re-paired my phone with only one S4 BT device not installed.
These are all the S4 BT devices I got installed okay:
Bluetooth Hands-free Audio
Bluetooth L2CAP Interface
Bluetooth Remote Control
GATT Protocol
GAP Protocol
Bluetooth Headset AG
Bluetooth Hands-free AG
Bluetooth AV Remote-Control Target
Bluetooth AV Source
Bluetooth Network Access
Bluetooth Personal Area Network User (PANU)
Bluetooth OPP
Bluetooth Message Access
I hope this helps
you need to look for BT drivers for your BT, there are no such BT drivers for specific devices. Look on your manufacturer's website and look for BT drivers for your computer model
S4 BT FTP Working
Hi again,
I've found that I can get the last uninstalled BT service mentioned above installed by using Bluetooth File Transfer -- namely the FTP service.
With BT turned off, using the BFT Widget: I activated "Bluetooth File Receiving Service (OPP) Port 12" and then the "Bluetooth File Sharing Service (FTP) Port 30", and then I turned BT on and re-paired with Windows. All BT services found on my S4 were installed.
My S4 appeared in Windows Explorer as a system folder under My Computer--with full upload/download capabilities--just as if I had connected via USB cable, though only the internal memory was available, not the SD card.
I hope this helps more so
