I have a Nexus 4 rooted with latest Slimbean ROM (4.2.2 build 5) flashed. I just bought some NFC tags on eBay and I'm using NFC Task Launcher to write tasks into the tags. Everyhing works just fine, except that if I try to use a task to disable Wifi, or toggle Wifi from On to Off, nothing happens. Enable Wifi or toggle from Off to On works ok. Also, using the Wifi tile on quick settings toggle Wifi On/Off just fine.
Any ideas about why Wifi won't turn off using NFC tags?
Works for me, also using NFC task launcher, I actually have it setting my alarm + setting to vibrate + toggle wifi to off.
Using CM10.1 RC2 though, also used it with stock and AOKP.
Hello,
I must have tried at least 10 different widgets, but I cannot find that one that works completely. I am using a rooted G2 (4.2.2) with mobile hotspot via the method posted here:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2456338
All the widgets I've tried cannot turn the hotspot on and off. SOME have been able to turn it off once I've already turned it on by going into the "Mobile Hotspot" app, but I none have been completely functional.
Is there something I'm missing?
Hey guys I know there's a way to automatically connect and disconnect Wi-Fi I thought it was called Smart Switch but apparently it's not does anyone have any idea what it's called?

Smart Switch is for moving content between devices.
Smart Network Switch is for automatically moving from WiFi to Mobile Data, in theory without losing ongoing connections.
The Edge Panel "My Places" can be configured to automatically enable/disable WiFi (and other things) based upon your location (location being configured a small number of ways).
There's probably an App to do it another way (like Wi-Fi Matic - which I've never tried - linky).
It took me a minute to find it but if you go into Wi-Fi settings & tap "more" you'll find the smart network switch option.. It used to be under advanced & somehow I was just missing it when I went to the advanced settings
Hi,
my bluetooth suddenly is turning on for some reason i don't know today. I don't know how it is turning on. any way to track which apps is doing this?
I tried to check on settings >> applications >> application manager >> change system settings but there are too many apps that is enabled and I don't know which app is really causing the bluetooth to turn on.
any other method to know how?
Thanks!
Hi, I have the same problem. Did you find out how to repair this?
Are you using Good Lock?
Good Lock, uses a location base to change toggles.
I have mine setup so when i leave the house Bluetooth comes on.
When i get to work, Bluetooth goes off and silent mode is activated.
When i leave work, Sound is loud and bluetooth is active again.
When i get home, it will turn off Bluetooth and enable Wifi.
(Just incase you are using Good Lock) It was puzzling me for ages until i went in and configured it properly.

for my case, i found out it was because of the Mi Fit app. When I restart the phone, the bluetooth is not turning on. but when I open the Mi Fit app, it will not always auto turn on the bluetooth.
Check if you have this app.
My bluetooth is turning on only when my screen is off. When I turn the screen on I see bluetooth icon, and after unlock, icon disappear. Sometime, when I doesn't wait on lock screen, but unlock phone immediately bluetooth remain on. I attach list of all my apps.
Is there any app that shows apps which are using bluetooth?
I'm on stock ROM with root, xposed and twrp.
Well a good way would to individually check all the apps, who knows maybe you'll get lucky and it will be the first one you try. Or i recommend just going through the ones that use Bluetooth commonly eg if you have like a smart watch that connects to your phone.
I make a full wipe yeasterday, and problem remains. BetterBatteryStats shows that bluetooth is linked with turning screen on (see screenshot).
I have XPrivacy, how can I set to always asks to use bluetooth?
I uninstalled half of all my apps, and nothing changed.
Did you tried to wipe apps data? Go to app manager, choose view of system apps, and find anything involved with BT, as I remember I had 3 or 4 in my Galaxy S5.
As I said before I made full wipe. Can I get any information from btsnoop_hci.log?
Did you found problem just after wipe (on a clean ROM)? Or after restore apps?
At first startup, phone restore my apps. so I can't it is system app or installed from google play.
Ok so IMHO it's not bad idea to delete app data of some BT applications from app manager.
How can I find which app is using bluetooth?
Names starts with "bluetooth" and contains "bluetooth" ex. sharing bluetooth (udostępnianie).
Ok, done. I have 4 apps: Bluetooth MIDI Service 6.0.1, BluetoothTest 6.0.1, Bluetooth Sharing 6.0.1 and com.see.knox.bluetooth (which was uninstalled, because it's grey in titanium backup).
Ok, keep the fingers crossed! This helped me with my old S5 - maybe will be helpfull to you.
Unfortunately no effect for me.
Clear also data of google play services.
I know this is not exactly Android head unit topic but it's closely related to using the device.
So here's what's going on. When I manually turn on wifi tethering (Hotspot) on my phone (NOA H10, 7.1.1 nougat), device (head unit) connects to it as it should, and everything works.
On the otherhand when I use tasker, or any other app to trigger wifi tethering on Bluetooth connection, the hotspot turns on but device can't connect to it. I get obtaining IP address issue, and when I set to static IP it connects for a few seconds and then drops the connection. It's really frustrating because I know it can work.
I know l can always turn the hotspot on manually when I get into the car but I want it to be automatically turned on when Bluetooth connects to my unit.
Anyone else has/had this kind of issues? Any ideas/solutions?
AFAIK most of these units don't support bluetooth tethering at all. Not really sure if any do at all.

I'm not talking about bluetooth tethering.
Ok I get it, trigger wifi on bluetooth connection with the triggering attempted on the phone side.
I have 0 experience with android phones but I know my iphone will never allow a connection (to anything) unless you open the hotspot setting manually. When I do that my units all automatically connect.

I use Macrodroid app to activate the hotspot when muy phone is conected by bluetooth, and all runs ok
I tried macrodroid. Same thing as the other apps. It turns on hotspot but can't connect to it.
So here's the SITREP, when I use connected to a bluetooth device trigger without specifying a device, the hotspot works. Only if variable, device name and/or mac address is specified the device will not connect to hotspot.
Install and use this plugin
Doesn't work. But I managed to get it work with secure settings and touch task plugins.

I'm using secure settings and touch task Tasker plugins to simulate manual hotspot toggle. When my phone connects to my headunit it triggers screen on then screen unlock to unlock the phone, then quick settings (drop down) menu and finally touch on hotspot tethering icon. Same command is executed on Bluetooth disconnected status.
