Hi Community,
being in Austria the whole last week and received above mentioned update on Tuesday. No idea whether it has been distributed in entire Europe and I am quite surprised, that I do not find anything on the internet incl. this forum about this update.
The update came OTA (268MB) and it is saying that performance and stability should be improved.
Does anybody know, whether this is just an update of the Marshmallow Beta versione or is this already the stable release?
Thx a lot for your feedback and explanations!
This is just an update of béta version
The final one should be end of March but..........

Latest source android authority says within the following weeks which to me will be end of March.

They didn't say next week which would mean Feb! Sorry.
Huawei are terrible for updates historically.

Well it's the only official confirmation regarding marshmallow release. I decide to trust honor india.
Imo it doesn't matter if it's two months old because it's still legit

Nah.
I have a friend who works for HTC Norway.
He says the rumors on his office says 16th april.
So i will stick to that.
There's nothing new about that, we all know it's 16th April already.

HOW do you know it? Speculations!
I am waiting for the oficiella version, (modified roms here now have too many bugs) even if it takes in the autumn
But I am impressed by chef´s which has done a great job for us to test version 2.1
there's more chance of a dual booting iPad running Android 6.4
coming out than a timely update for the hero lol. September doesn't seem so bad, my contract is up for renewal then..Sent from my Hero using the XDA mobile application powered by Tapatalk
There are already many threads to the update!
We have to wait,I think all other speculations,
because HTC seems to be unsure themselves!
so, is it tomorrow then? on the 16th??

if you don't have a source for that you could be so kind to mark it as sarcasm somehow, not all newbies get it necessarily.
So whats special with that update
Custom roms are better anyway
How many of you guys will update to the official ROM...and stay using it...
Like i said Custom roms is still better

No sarcasm, I have a friend who's working at a phone house who told me. That's, by the way why I don't trust the other source who's telling everybody 16th of April (and now, like magic, end of april!).
BTW: Is it that bad that newbies wouldn't get it? People are announcing wrong dates almost everyday and my indication gets flagged somehow?
This was the only official statement from HTC regarding something new for Hero, all the rest was whishfull thinking, rumours and foolish comments:
Press Release from February 16th
Availability
The new HTC Legend will be available in Europe through Vodafone and in the direct channel beginning in April. It will roll out to other parts of the world including Asia in early Q2. HTC Desire will be broadly available to customers across major European and Asian markets in early Q2. The HTC Desire will be exclusively available in Australia through Telstra. The enhanced HTC Sense experience will also be offered as a free upgrade on the HTC Hero in Europe and Asia.

So, the dates for Legend and Desire were very precise, a date for the enhanced experience on Hero was intentionally left open ...
I got this info in a sms today from my operator Ventelo:
Information from Ventelo:
HTC will shortly come up with an updated version of the operating system on some of their mobile phones. The update must be loaded directly onto the phone, and is 100Mb. Ventelo therefore recommend that users of these mobile phones updates via wireless networks and mobile networks.

I don't think they forgot, so much as omitted.
Probably mid-June
The official release sounds like it's going to be June but as Cyanogen pointed out on Twitter yesterday, Froyo source is already tricking into AOSP which means between now and release, CM will have more and more Froyo features.
there is a beta, right?
Engadget says they got a beta of both 2.2 and adobe's 10.1 flash player on their demo phone. If Adobe and google are sending these out, someone is going to dump the ROM and it will be available here. I'm itching for some frozen yougart...

So... you have sole rights to speculate about the release date? That's all anyone here is doing, there is not official or even leaked word about the date from anyone in the know. It's just based on Adobe's June release for Flash 10.1.
If someone posts a thread about the release, feel free to complain to them for double-posting but not the rest of us who are just helping the people that don't know how to search.

Nexus One owners will be delighted to learn that Android 2.2 is available as an OTA update beginning today. Google also confirmed that late model devices like the Motorola Droid, HTC EVO 4G, HTC Desire and HTC Incredible are scheduled to get the update soo

I must have answered this question a million times now. Only Samsung knows when the update will drop and they don't give any notification beforehand. Anyone who tries to say otherwise or tries to tell you when they think it'll drop is merely speculating. So the update will come when it does, whether that's today, tomorrow, a week, a month, a year, or never. Nobody here knows at all when
When it does come out, I would guess you will get android 5.1.1. That's what the 8.0 models are getting, and their updates started later than the 10.1 updates
Also, this has been bugging me for a while, do you and DUHAsianSkillz have some sort of intercontinental franchise going? :silly:
Speculation:
↓
Samsung bosses gave mid month deadline to tab 4 updates, it reads in youmobile, so firmware should come in a week or max 1.5 weeks! otherwise some ppl r gonna lose their jobs

It seems Samsung deploys the update for those using the Beta program first. Just to make sure there wont be any big problem on too many smartphones. It should come soon for everyone
Dont forget the network/carrier stage may delay your updates! Im not expecting mine until June at the earliest based on prior timescales.....
Call me sceptical, but it's now been 2-3 days since this news came out and so far nobody has said that they've got this update... Is it just a big load of crap so Samsung can say that they've released nougat?
There's about 15 websites spreading the same news around but still no proof?

I entirely agree with you... I think that if people would "really" have received the update, at least one of them would have captured and shared it here.
Absolutely it looks like it is Fabricated.....may be the screen shot too.
Did not Beta Developers say that the update is being rolled out with Android 7.1.1?

I use a Honor Note 8 for almost a year, with great satisfaction. I kept the B029. I had read very bad feedback on the B332. And obviously we must go through it before having another update notification. I do not know which version we arrived at today. And especially how are the latest update?
Thanks in advance for your advice.
