The HUB currently does not behave like a hub properly, ie if you multiple email accounts in the hub and you open one of them by going directly to the account then "back" out or "home" out, then open the HUB (expecting to see the "hub" aggregated view) it now shows me the last email account i was in. Not the proper HUB view.
If I kill the app and restart the HUB it works as expected, until i open an email account directly.
I've lodged a report on it, hopefully they can resolve the issue. But until then does anyone know of a "task killer" app that will allow me to set it up to only kill the hub app and only whenever the screen is locked (and only once) . I dont want to have to think about it for perform extra steps... i just want it to give me something close to the behaviour I expect...

This might be a stupid question but the built in email client doesn't let me select manual or next after inputting my email and password.
Gmail works fine and I have all my mail routed through that account anyways, but want to know how to set this up so those messages are integrated to Timescape.
It's as if the two buttons 'Manual' and 'Next' are greyed out. Not sure if this is because the phone is branded (although I don't see why that would be the case) or maybe I just don't know what I'm doing .
Any ideas/help would be appreciated!

Hey i wouldnt say branded, but you sure your email is typed properly. And when you set up your emails with the default email app it gets automatically configured into timescape. IF you want to add gamil to timescape you have to config your gmail account with the default email app. If you do just turn off the notifications in the gmail app.
Thanks for the reply.
Yea, I'm sure the email is right and I can't even hit the next button to get to the stage where it tries automatic setup (I assume, I've never been able to use the button so I can't say ha). Also, the 'Manual' button on that screen doesn't let me click it either.
Basically, I'm pretty sure both buttons should be blue and I should be able to hit them, but after putting in mail ID and password they stay grey and untouchable.
Very strange, I don't get it!
Solved
Well, solved might be the wrong word. But I figured out what I was doing wrong.
I think the first account setup had to be through the settings screen from inside Timescape settings and not through the Email client itself (didn't even work when I hit 'Add Account' in the spline GUI though, had to be in that settings menu for some reason).
Now I can add other accounts properly and do that right through the Email app itself.
Strange hiccup in the setup... at least, that's the only thing I did differently this time to have it work.
Anyways, whether that was actually the problem or I was doing something else wrong that hasn't crossed my mind I'm really not sure (seems like an odd way to have to set this thing up considering the Add Account button on the spline GUI should have taken me through the correct setup you'd think! But, at the very least it's working now ha)
Never been so excited to see blue, touchable buttons.
I'd like to know about other people's experiences with CM6 and Exchange. With the stock email app, I have noticed at times that at times it would start using a lot of cpu, and stop receiving emails. I did have "all email" sync, but these issues would happen randomly after all of my mailbox was downloaded; could this have anything to do with it? I would have to reboot my phone for email to start working again. After reading about people's experience in the CM6 thread I thought it might be appropriate to have an altogether separate thread. I did notice some users having similar issues, and that TouchDown is a good alternative.
So about 2 weeks ago, I started trying it. Problem is, when I go to add a contact (discovered this by long pressing a number to create a contact), it will let me create a "TouchDown contact", but only with names. I contacted touchdown support and they said that no other applications can have access to TouchDown data for "security". I did put in a feature request for an optional contacts integration, because my Aria is a work phone, and every contact I add I *need* synced. I did think about adding contacts to Google account, and then installing Google/Outlook sync on my work pc, but this seems too convoluted.
Has CM6 exchange improved in any of the nightly builds? If I choose to go back to the stock email app, is there any way that if I run into these issues again I can provide debugging information? The only thing I really liked about TouchDown was the search email feature, but this is in no way a feature request for the stock email app. xD
Why not ask in the cm6 thread instead of starting a new one?
I've been using stock exchange mail client since the beginning of CM6 on aria, haven't ran into any major issues with it. The only problem I have with it is that sometimes the deleted email on aria still show up on desktop outlook.

Just wanted to add that stock client does stop getting emails ( very rarely for me), instead of rebooting, I just forse close the app and restart it again.

For adding/syncing contacts (using touchdown for email) I added the exchange account (under stock email settings) and set it to never check mail, but still sync contacts and calendar. I am going to see if this combination with touchdown works, as the email app is required to run if syncing exchange contacts is to work at all. I hope don't run into the process hanging without email actually syncing. I'm still waiting this trial out to see if touchdown is worth it; they did add a new feature that shows the number of new emails in the notification icon (I don't recall if this is in the stock email app).
Hi All
I've got the samsung e-mail app set up for my exchange active sync account and everything is working as it should. However, I have noticed that if you open the samsung e-mail application from a shortcut it says refreshing at the bottom of the screen but no mail is actually transferred until you go to menu and select refresh. It then says refreshing at the bottom of the screen and your new mail is downloaded.
Has anyone else noticed this and is there any way to fix this so that the mail will start downloading when you open the app (or knows what the app is doing when it says 'refreshing' and it isn't actually doing anything?)
Many thanks
Spud
PS apologies for the typo in the message header!
Mine doesn't even load even if I refresh it manually and that damn circle keeps circling!!! (Not always, but many times)
Op, the refreshing on start up is synching up your screen view with the little mail database on the phone (that is in turn updated by android auto sync process if auto sync is enabled).
The refresh in the menu is actually going to servers to grab new mail.

Here is a fix for apps such as Weather (Bing) or cut the rope not working. this also fixed me not being able to add my Exchange account. I found this on the Microsoft forums and now every app works.
Slide the Start Charm bar out on the right side. press settings. Click change PC settings. In the list click on Ease of Access. Turn off Tab through webpages using caret browsing.
Immediately all my apps that were closing as soon as i opened them started to work and it accepted my exchange account.
I hope this helps anyone having this issue.
Hi there,
from the moment I got my Priv about for months ago, I deactivated all of the BB apps and Bloatware (like Yahoo Finances) because I just don't need them. Sadly, you can't just uninstall them, so deactivating is the only way.
Just recently I discovered that despite being deactivated, BB Hub still had some permissions (maybe this was changed by the last OS update?) so I revoked them. Now BB Hub (which shouldn't be doing anything since it's deactivated) constantly sits in the notification bar and asks for permissions. I can't even edit or add new contacts without the BB Hub popping up on fullscreen and asking me to grant it permissions. But I don't want to.
Not only is the BB Hub superflous for me - I use Contacts+, don't use the FB app (only in the browser), have only one email-adress (and if I had more, I would integrate them into my gmail inbox) and I surely don't want to have those annoying Whatsapp messages in the same place where my SMS, calls and emails etc are.
I also don't trust BB and don't want to give them access to my contacts, calendar, messages or location. Why does the Hub need location data anyway? And why is the BB Hub so invasive that it even controls the standard Android contacts app?
This is so annoying! I just wish I could root my phone and install CM or any other AOSP-based ROM. But I can't. So the next best thing would be to get rid or at least truly deactivate apps like BB Hub. Does anyone know a way to achieve this?
Would it maybe be possible to get temp-root access and just delete the BB Hub file from the system folder?
Any help would be much appreciated, so thanks in advance!
EDIT: Okay never mind, I've found the culprit! Blackberry Services was active and had permissions. I deactivated it (again) and revoked the permissions and now the annoying pop-up is gone! The OTA update reactivated the BB Services (just as it had reactivated all other pre-installed apps). Guess I overlooked it after the last update.
Maybe some admin can just delete this thread. Or leave it there for others in the future who might encounter the same problem. Whatever's best.
Does your PRIV becomes smoother and less lag after deactivate all of them ? And will they reactivated back after a reboot ? Because my thoughts on Disabling apps, it will run as usual after a reboot.
