I dont know what version TWRP it is because TWRP wont come up anymore
All i can get into is the Bootloader or the Standard Recovery
also my droid x is having a issue to power on it just has a green light on when you charge it
when you take it off the charger to turn it on nothing happens.

Just put Liquid in Restore mode -> Volume UP + Camera + Power button and with Acer Tools flash it again with some BIN file. Its ease.
If you need more help- say
Never used Clockwork Recovery.
Install MalezRecovery and flash the ROM you want to flash without signature check.
Or flash a ROM which is signed like LCR-F- http://lcr-team.org/v1/index.php
Or just flash a new bin:
Here is a how to guide- http://android.modaco.com/content/a...rial-how-to-flash-bin-files-on-acer-liquid-e/

[Q] No reboot after OTA Update

Hey Guys,
I'm pretty new here, but had my Desire rootet and another ROM on it an everything worked without any problems. But now I tried to install the latest OTA Update directly via zip-file from shipping roms. now my desire doesnt't reboot anymore, the bootloader data changed from 0.80 to 0.93 and im not able to get into recovery mode the direct way. by pressing VOL+ and Power I get into the alternative recovery menu, but every ROM i tried doesn't work. There's always following warning: signature verification failed... installation aborted...
Does anybody have any ideas to solve this problem?
Thanks for yours answers guys!
PS: I have no root-rights anymore!
If you're no longer rooted, try re rooting, but if your only barrier is the signature verification, you can turn that off if you're using clockworkmod as your recovery (look for toggle signature verification I believe) , dunno about amonra

rooted? or were u rooted?

If you are trying to install gb manually, it will not be labeled update.zip. you need to actually choose the zip from your SD card
I'm rooted but with no custom rom, I did install koushs bootstrap but then removed it using root explorer,, and after it says apply patch it says "system/bin/logwrapper with a bunch of numbers do you think there's an error there QUOTE=taterDX;12917845]rooted? or were u rooted?

I don't get what you mean, there's no other option in recovery that lets you choose it just says install update. Zip QUOTE=Jmoney47;12923123]If you are trying to install gb manually, it will not be labeled update.zip. you need to actually choose the zip from your SD card[/QUOTE]
make sure u r rooted and installed rom manager, and boostrap from market. click reboot recovery in bootstrap, then go to rom manager and click flash cwm then reboot recovery. choose install zip then find the zip to install. that should do the trick. always make sure u backup first... no im not responsible for u destroying ur pbone or causing a catastrophic global event ;p hope this helps.

You are going to need to go back to full stock. 2.3.340. Logwrapper is part of bootstrap.
You will have to sbf back to stock then go into stock recovery and run update.zip.

sbf, root, and to pick a zip off the sd card, you need bootstrapper. no way around it (unless you rename)
If you are going to the ota gingerbread and not the one from tbh then you just need stock recovery. If you are using the tbh rooted gb then you will need to root and have droid 2 bootstrap not droid x bootstrap.

can't install roms on droid x

Hey, I'm helping my friend install a new rom on his Droid X because the GB update messed his phone up. The Recovery version is 2.xxxx. I have Team Liquid's rom which won't install and it says
"E: failed to verify whole-file signature"
"E: signature verification failed"
"Installation aborted."
I thought maybe the download was bad so I downloaded OMGB and the same thing happens.
I can install roms without a problem on my Thunderbolt but I know nothing about this phone. It took me a bit just to figure out how to get into Recovery. No longer can I get into Recovery with Rom Manager or Quick Boot. If I tried to use those apps it just ends up rebooting the phone.
Any ideas why this is happening? Should I install the latest version of Recovery (CWM)? I downgraded the Recovery because I thought the new version was preventing Rom Manager and Quick Boot from booting into Recovery mode. Thanks in advance!!
Edit: I downloaded the Droid 2 Bootstrap app and now I managed to get into Recovery but installation failed again. It says
"Installing update..."
"assert failed: run_program("/tmp/check_kernel")"
"==0"
"E: Error in /sdcard/update.zip"
"(Status 7)"
"Installation aborted."
Any ideas?
Sbf and try from there

Sbf to. 602 and root using petes root tools, goolge will help since I can't post links

I'm a lil confused as what you mean when you say the GB update messed his phone up. If it was a OTA update that messed the phone up, then i would simply suggest getting rid of root and going back to Verizon because it could be an issue with that phone in itself.
Now if the GB update was caused by you guys trying to do certain things than follow directions of above poster StayFrosty777 (Cool name btw dude lol).
Also make sure that you download a custom rom that is on the build. I'm unsure of whether he actually has GB or if still on Froyo. If he is still on Froyo you will need to flash a Froyo rom, flashing a rom such as Liquid 3.0 which is based on GB, will not work on Froyo.

updating nexus 7

Hello guys
I recently unrooted my nexus 7 device because I really want to upgrade to 4.2.1. I tried every possible way. My deice is unrooted, so I tried to update my it from settings, but it goes into custom recovery and saya...
"ClockworkMod Recovery v5.8.4.3
Finding update package...
Opening update package...
Verifying update package...
E: failed to verify whole-file signiture
E: signiture verification failed
Installation aborted"
So I said ok, it doesn't work, so I found the most recent update for the nexus 7 and downloaded it, went to custom recovery, found teh file and tried to update it manually.... This is what is said..
"-- Installing: /sdcard/Download/659e6288b87d.signed-n
akasi-JOP4OD-from-JO40C. 659e6288.zip
Finding update package...
Opening update package...
Verifying update package...
E: failed to verify whole-file signiture
E: signiture verification failed

I guess my question is.. what can I do from here? I really want to update it soon
Just download the firmware direct from Google and flash it using fastboot. Easiest and most reliable method, though you do need an unlocked bootloader.

Can you please explain in detail?
From Google meaning their website? or from settings on the Nexus 7? and what do you meant by a bootloader? which bootloader should I use?
I'm not sure but i think if you want to take ota it might need stock recovery to install and to update manually from custom recovery I think you need the BIG update from 4.1.2 JO??? to 4.2 JO40C as the update from JO40C to 4.2.1 JOP40D is incremental if I'm not mistaken....also you may need to update clockwork mod

Download the update to your device(it's hosted on these boards) reboot your machine into recovery, and install from zip. It's the way many of us update our devices. There was no need to unroot your device. Your OTA failed to install because of the custom recovery you're using.
I'm using 4.2.1
How do u get the screen to not turn off
Sent from my SAMSUNG-SGH-I747 using Tapatalk 2
I've got the same issue.
CWMRecovery says the same thing when I want to update by OTA.
I tried to install manually the ZIP file (/cache) by copying it in my /sdcard with CWMR but I had the same script.
I'm rooted, in 4.2 (logic) with CWMR 6.0.1.9 no touch.
Do I have to restore stock recovery or a sideload flash (or fastboot) would work ?

Follow the above link. It walks you through downloading a factory image from google and using fastboot to install it, regardless of what you may have done to your device. Also, if you are doing this, you can go ahead and use the latest image if you want, which puts you at 4.2.
enjoy. :good:
