Hi guys,
I have a problem since the first 4.3 release. When the phone is in sleep mode, the cellular signal dead and i must turn on the airplane mode and turn off it. It's a very fastidious problem, what can i do?
GT-9505 with XViSiON Rom and KT Kernel.
PS: Sorry for my english
anyone?
I have the same problem.
I have even tried different Android 4.3 ROM's to my GT-I9505 where all lost it's GSM signal when i'm setting my phone into sleep mode.
I though for some time that my phone was faulty somewhere here. But to confirm that this was only happening in Android 4.3, i installed FoxHound v2.0 ROM earlier today witch was the latest Android 4.2.2 ROM of that ROM. Here i don't have that problem anylonger.
So what's going on with the Android 4.3 ROM's. Does anyone have any clues?
must be the modem, i had a similar problem back when i was on the S3 and it was related to that
Sent from my GT-I9500 using Tapatalk
happy to know I'm not the only one and happy to know that the problem is only in 4.3. can I flash the 4.2.2 modem on 4.3 rom? or it isn't compatible?
Thanks for reply and sorry for my English
You probably have flashed/installed too good modification
Try to reinstall software, do restore from backup (if you have) or try to google it... No idea why.. I understand it happens for wifi, but not for "mobile signal"
Ok I flashed a MH8 modem and for now it's ok, today and tomorrow i test if it work.
Ok, i have now flashed the XXUEMK8 modem by doing the instructions under here:

Use Odin v3.04
Untick Autoreboot
Flash modem
Reboot once again into Download Mode using (Vol Down plus Home button combi)
Flash Modem once more
Once done, unplug then reboot device manually.
If this doesn't work, try repeating the flash process again while rebooting manually and with auto-reboot option turned off.
The only thing i did differently was to use the Odin3 v3.0.9 application instead. You can download this here or here.
You can find all of the modems you need here: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2192025
Now the signals isn't dropping anymore
So there you have my confirmation on this. So anyone who have the same problem should just do the same by installing the newest modem you find in the link over.

Hi!
Does anyone ever managed to fix not working WiFi on i9505 flashed to stock 4.4.2 with GNG8 and higher modems/basebands? On a daily basis i'm running CM11 but due to heavy GPS problems I decided to go to stock 4.4.2 (I9505XXUGNG8_I9505YXZGNH2_XEO).
Unfortunately I never managed to get WiFi fixed. I've tried everything I found on xda. And yes, i'm experienced Android user
What I've tried:
1. re-flash modem and NON-HLOS.bin files, tried multiple times - no success. Also tried single flash but from "hard power off".
1a. did factory resets, reflashed, rebooted and so on and so forth.
2. re-flashed all rom again - no success
3. re-flashed bootloader, also multiple times.
4. tried to edit build.prop and disabled "secure.storage" (switched do false) - no success
I've repeated every one step in a different order, like flashing modem, no auto reboot, flashing again, then flashing NON-HLOS etc. etc.
I have "Black edition" device so I hoped stock rom would fit perfectly. Ofcourse this stock is working better than CM11 latest on this machine - better battery life and better GPS operation, but no WiFi is a real pain.
Anyone have any clues what could be wrong?
Thanks,
Tomek
So just to summarize, Wifi works on CM but not on TW based roms?

Yes, that's correct (whatever TW means) - wifi works on CM11 latest but not on stock 4.4.2. What surprised me most: after reverting back to CM11 from nand backup I noticed that i'm now on GNG8 baseband/modem that got flashed from stock, and this configuration works like a charm! GPS, WiFi, 3G/4G audio and data works great on first sight and few hours of testing.
So, this must be the problem with kernel and/or modules in I9505XXUGNG8_I9505YXZGNH2_XEO rom not the baseband/modem issue itself...
I think I would try another stock 4.4.2 (I9505XXUGNH2_I9505PLSGNH1_PLS) and see if it will resolve WiFi issue....

The solution is that you have to flash the correct CSC (region code) for your device. You can know it installing this APP.

Hi, I think CSC setting is not the case. CSC should not interfere with WiFi operation at all.
When I flashed stock 4.4.2 XEO (i'm in Poland so XEO or PLS are good for me, phone was branded by PLS before) CSC in stock recovery was "Multi-CSC". Now it has changed to NEE for some reason. It happened after one of the re-flashes.
Despite that, with CSC set to NEE, CM11 is working perfectly with all features on GNG8 modem/baseband. Stock - no WiFi still.

The firmware you are flashing is DBT (Germany). You can download it: HERE. In theory you have to have:
AP : I9505XXUGNK4
CP: I9505XXUGNK4
CSC: I9505OXAGNK4
Reflash that firmware 2 times for fix your device :highfive:

I found the solution to WiFi and it is not connected with CSC setting (I still have NEE instead of XEO).
I managed to flash XEO firmware stock with WiFi finally working and enabled. This is just ridiculous and seems completely pointless and troublesome but.... :
1. turn off phone completly, some say that you just need to turn off by power button and then go to ODIN. I found that (by trying few times) it is mandatory to take out the battery not just powering off the phone by button.
2. put battery on, and enter ODIN mode (Vol Down + home).
3. flash, remember to untick "Auto reboot".
4. after successfull flash, again take out battery.
5. again, put battery on, enter ODIN mode.
6. flash, AND AGAIN remember: do not auto reboot! (untick "Auto reboot")
7. after successfull flash.... Yes - remove battery put battery on and enter RECOVERY mode this time.
8. instead of stock recovery menu it will show some progressbar going with green android and then it will reboot. Let him do so.
9. after reboot and settle down for minute or two, poweroff by removing battery.
10. enter stock recovery, now it will work and do Factory Wipe/reset. Reboot.
This procedure I found after maybe 10-15 reflashings. I think that crucial parts are: remove battery between every reflash and going to recovery at the end, two times.. other options i've tried didn't help at all.
I'm wondering why is that? Is it some kind of write protection (besides KNOX thing) that does not allow to simple flash/reboot procedure?
But still - I cant figure out why CSC is set to first from the list of available CSCs after that operation (NEE is first, there's some other possible CSCs and XEO at the end).

Hi guys
I need some quick help identifying what happened to my S4. It's not bricked by the way, it's just some weird debugging mode which became enabled.
I have just sold it on eBay, and therefore I performed a standard factory reset followed instantly by a standard ODIN flash of the official latest firmware to remove root (which is something I've done many times on this phone without an issue).
However this time, since I did it, everytime I turn the phone on, just before the standard Samsung Galaxy S4 logo appears, I get a strange flashing screen which displays some technical details on the phone (different to the one I used to have when running a custom kernel) which include: serial number, Knox status, power on reason, some CPU details and in particular, a line saying debug mode level: medium. I have never came across it so I tried removing the battery and re-flashing the software, neither of which have helped.
I would like to find out if anyone had come across this and if so, how could this be revered back as I need to ship the phone to the buyer.
Attached is the photo I managed to capture with my DSLR which shows more detail... Please help.
Thanks a lot
Regards
Please can someone take a look at this?

Go to recovery and make a factory reset, when the galaxy s4 logo shows up remove the battery immediately, wait 5 seconds then go to download mode and flash the firmware, after the device reboots make a factory reset again
Will try that, what I did so far is flashing the latest Black Edition rom which removed the issue and then flashing back the latest normal ROM and the issue came back straight away. It's like a weird bootloader it comes with.
I'm downloading an older ROM from March as this is the one I flashed a while ago and had no problems with.
Fixed it, just downloaded I9505XXUFNB8 which is from March and flashed it, then, updated over OTA. It's now on latest version without the weird bootscreen issue.
What's strange is that it was an official (latest) build downloaded from SamMobile and later downloaded again though SamFirm tool and both produced same behaviour yet upgrading to it though OTA did not cause the issue.
Thanks
Anyways as my title says, i don't have wifi. I had first rooted my phone, but then I unrooted my phone by flashing some unrooted os on the samsung which caused two problems. My wifi and mobile data didn't work at all, but after I took it to a repair shop they fixed the mobile data and got it working again and rooted my phone but not the wifi part. According to the person that tried to fix my phone, the current android os, 4.3 - jellybean, that i flashed via odin is preventing the wifi from working. I don't really know whats wrong with the phone but can anyone help me? Also by baseband version is 1337UCUFNJ4 and the build number is JSS15.1337UCUEMK2. Should i try to find a ROM that matches my baseband version and flash it via odin? Thank you in advance!
P.S. This is my first thread, so please tell me if i violated any rules.

im having the same problem and i think we both have knox stupid security back on the phone that's blocking the wlan to start from bad permission or encryption
so personally yeah i will install back the original firmware (before 4.3) from factory reset (or via odin if i have to force it) then im gonna re-root the phone
having back permission ill remove knox (probly with titanium) lock and box bs from base firmware and probly remove root right
then im guessing ill have my internet back now will i go full rom again or basic function thats a good question
so many freaking remote exploit lately
ill let you know if that fix it
I also just found this
om22 said:
1. untick "Auto reboot" in odin
2. flash the stock rom again
3. reboot your phone to download mode again (by holding the power and vol down button for 10 sec)
4. flash the stock rom a second time with auto reboot ticked
This will fix your problem.

seems that clicking auto reboot might be the cause
so would i install the I337_NJ4_Stock_Kernel.tar.md5 file following that method or would i have to find another firmware/rom/(i don't know what to call this) unrooted

official did not work for me
i the flashed / reset to factory for Galaxy S4 SGH-I337M VLUAMDJ
rebooted and prayed but no luck
finally found a solution but that did changed my PDA version to 9505 but got everything working again
so if you dont mind the 9505 change (more rom and solution for 9505) id go with echoes for all in 1 fresh install solution and its a nice rom
Instruction can be found on this thread : http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2372286
knowing the problem was modem i did also found this solution to re-flash and fix wifi on i337 without changing to 9505
Follow these instruction to stay i337 : http://forum.xda-developers.com/showpost.php?p=46762296&postcount=1
but i have not tested for i337
in the end i got this setup
rom echoes illusion kot 49h
kernel : 3.4.103-aelkernel-v6.2
bootloader and baseband i337mvlufnc1
pda :i9595v jughn2
hardware/ board : qcom/msm8960
platform / chip : msm8960 / apq9064
modem /board : mdm9215m
hope that help
and sorry for bad english http://cdn4.xda-developers.com/images/icons/icon8.gif
EDIT PS: These solution require basic knowledge with odin flash and cwm recovery or twrp recovery
Hello everyone, I'd like to start off by saying I am a complete newcomer to all this so please explain literally all of the terminology/jargon you intend to use and correct me when I use it wrong.
I have a Chinese version of the Samsung Galaxy Note 4 SM-N9109W and up until yesterday it was running out of the box on android 4.4.4. I care not for any of the data on the phone nor the warranty as there was none to begin with when it was gifted to me.
I attempted to "root" it as I didn't want any of the Chinese apps/restrictions on it but have failed miserably and now my phone is stuck in a bootloop.
I was following this guide if it helps: http://forum.xda-developers.com/note-4/general/root-note-4-sm-n910c-t2977948 and downloaded the appropriate Snapdragon version (SM-N9109W).
I cannot enter recovery mode by holding down *power+vol up+home* as it just keeps on rebooting. I can, however, get into the downloader by holding down *power+vol down+home*.
I have tried for the entirety of today to find a specific guide for the Chinese note 4 on xda, youtube and google but to no avail - nothing that I can find is identical to my situation and I am hesitant to do anything further to it by following a similar guide in case I make it worse.
I have repeatedly seen suggestions to "flash" stock rom and as I can get into the downloader I believe this would be a great starting point, but once again I am afraid to do anything without a specific guide for the N9109W.
A few people have referred to SamMobile to download stock rom, but a search for SM-N9109W lists 8 files for 4.4.4 and I believe I have no way of working out my PDA or CSC, yet again I don't know what these even are and they might not be relevant?
Any assistance in getting my phone's software back to "out of the box" conditions would be GREATLY appreciated.
Thank you for your time and patience,
Ryan
If you can enter Download mode then you can flash that firmware you found matching your device's exact model no. via Odin. Just put the ROM in AP/PDA tab (PDA for older Odin versions, AP for new) and hit start.

Thank you ithehappy for the reply,
When I search for the stock firmware on SamMobile, I type in my exact model number (SM-N9109W). This search returns with a list of multiple different versions for my phone, of which 8 are 4.4.4 (my initial version).
Does it matter which version I download and install?
To my knowledge, I have no way of finding my CSC or PDA unless you know of a database I can use to search the information that is physically on my phone? Once again, does it matter that I know what these are or can I simply download, for example, version 5.1.1 and flash that on instead of my original 4.4.4? Or, will this just cause further possibly unfixable problems?
Thank you for your help
Anyone?
No, you can download any one you want.
Thank you for the help, ithehappy. I now have a working phone!
For future readers, I downloaded the latest version of 4.4.4 that SamMobile had (2015-03-27) for my model (SM-N9109W):
PDA: N9109WKEU1ANL3
CSC: N9109WCTC1ANL3
It failed the first time I tried flashing with Odin 3.10.7, but whilst I was hastily taking screenshots of my problem to post here I accidentally started the transfer again and it successfully installed that time.
I followed the instructions on SamMobile for the installation.
This version of the firmware I installed does not have any google services (thank China for that), so keep that in mind.
Thank you
