TypeApp - issue loading emails - Nexus 6P Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

I'm using TypeApp as my email app since I like the dark theme it offers. The app has been performing flawlessly for a long time but now it suddenly wont work any more. Every time I chose a mail to read the app gets stuck trying to load the mail content. It will stay there with the "loading icon" forever, never getting the email up for me to read.
Wondering if anyone else has come across the same or if anyone has any suggestions as to how to fix this. The developer doesn't understand why this is happening due to them not having released any updates lately. They told me to try and downgrade Chrome-browser, which had no effect. I've tried uninstalling/reinstalling to no awail.
Since I really can't seem to find any fix for this, any suggestions for an email-app with dark theme would also be welcomed.

using the same app and no issues here, try clearing the data and reinstalling. Also, try deleting and re adding the account that your trying to pull email from

Hi.
I'm just like you.
I uninstalled , deleted data and reinstalled the system, but still does not load the emails .
Any solution??
Mi ROM is Benzo.

I tought I was alone with that problem !

From another thread, Augustin79 wrote:
After being in touch with the devs of TypeApp I've tested an unreleased beta of their similar app Bluemail and the problem is solved. So I think it's safe to say that a future update from the devs will fix this issue.
Thanks
Edit: just change to similar bluemail

Lost access to GMail

Hey all
I just had a strange problem with my Vibrant. Perhaps someone can help.
I don't know if this is the correct forum to put this in... if not, apologies and feel free to move it.
For the record I am running Vibrant9 on the phone, and everything has been running beautifully for a few weeks.
This morning, in fact, everything was running just fine. Then, all of a sudden, my phone lost all connectivity, both mobile networks and 3G. I rebooted the device, and the mobile network and 3G seemed to come back, but now it will not connect to my google accounts. I get messages saying either the account has changed, or the password is wrong for both accounts.
Web seems to be working over 3G, and I can make calls, but I cannot look up e-mail, and I get notifications saying my google accounts are failing to connect.
I'm not sure how to move forward with this, and I've never seen anything like it. I can log into my google accounts on my PC just fine, so the accounts and the passwords are OK... seems to be the phone.
I will keep looking, but has anyone seen anything like this before ? Anyone have this happen in the last 10 minutes ??
Any help appreciated.
Well I'm facing the same issue. Can't sync my mail, no apps can be.downloaded from market...its a issue.from Google.side I guess.

Until I can get 2.2 installed, I've given up on the existing gmail app that comes with 2.1. The gmail market app that is published recently is only 2.2 compatible. I've been using K9 for both gmail and my imap account and been far more pleased with it.

Really ? That's interesting. So google's mobile connections might be down ?
I can't find anything about that online... anyone else wanna weigh in ? Is this just a problem for every android handset ?
How frustrating.
Are you able to log into gmail on a computer? I had that same message the other day. Wasn't able to connect, my account had changed or password was wrong. Turned out, at 4 am there was spam sent from my gmail to 5 of my contacts. Gmail caught it and made me revise my password. After that, all is back to normal with market, gmail, etc...
Good thought, but I can actually log into gmail from my phones browser just fine with the same address and password.
Still have the same problem. Can log in to my mail using the other android email app. Just not the default app. Market broken, and anything needing that google account.
If others aren't having the problem, then it must be me, but I'm damned if I know what it is.
Might try restoring my nandroid backup.
Any other thoughts?

Odd. That may be your best bet...
Hi I just started having the same problem as well. Computer based gmail is working fine, but I can't access my two accounts through the gmail appand my mobile network connection seems to be down.
Edit: mobile network is back, but my accounts still aren't connecting.
Ok I just resolved this problem. Guess how?
I restored the nandroid backup that I took yesterday. Working fine now.
And what has changed since I took this backup? Only that I installed the overclocking kernel released yesterday... Could it be that?
Sent from my SGH-T959 using XDA App
Ok strange new symptom.
My nandroid backup doesn't replace the kernel, so I'm still overclocked and still running the new kernel.
However, since restoring now my google accounts seem to work (market ok, voice ok etc.), I can receive email, but not send it.
This is really troubling. Anyone have any similar problems, or ideas?
EDIT : The kernel I flashed yesterday is "[KERNEL] [2.6.29] [Flashable-.zip] [BFQ] [Oc] [Uv] #1 "Finally" '9.8 Linpack!'", which as far as I can tell is the only difference since this started happening.

Well I'm still facing the same issue. Can't sync my mails, unable to download apps from market and no friendstream either. So whts wrong guys? How should I resolve this? i uninstalled the updates from gmail and somehow it started working for few hrs but now again its dead :/...

Hi.
Bought my Samsung Vibrant a few days ago and I have not been able to log in to my google account. Due to this I have not been able to use any app or game...
Can someone please guide me on how to resolve this issue? I will be really greatful!
Thanks a lot!

[Q] Error signing into YouTube app

I've been unable to run the YouTube app on my N10 for the last few days. The UI launches, but I see a message saying "An error occurred" during the sign on process. I've tried clearing data & cache and reinstalling. I'm the primary root user on the tablet, and can access all other Google services. I have two other users setup, and neither of those have the problem. A Google search for this issue hasn't been fruitful. My wi-fi data connection is solid. Anything else I could try? Anywhere I could look at the logs?
I just started having the same problem on my Nexus 7. Worked fine earlier today, but now I keep getting the error occurred message when trying to sign in. All other google services seem to be working fine. Tried uninstalling, removing account, etc., no dice.
I ended up having to do a Factory Data Reset to fix it.
Weird. I happened to have a backup of the old version so I loaded that up and it signed in no problem! Don't know what's going on here, guess I'll stick with this for now.

Have you guy tried just wiping the Cache of the app? It fixed the same problem for me once but on my gs3.
I also have an SGS3 and I don't know what else to do. Every time I tap on "Log In" I only get "An error occurred"...
Clearing app data didn't help for me. Like the other poster, I could log in using the original version of the YouTube app, but not the latest. Only a FDR fixed the problem for me. So unless someone can address the core issue, you're stuck using an old version or doing a FDR.
Sorry, but what is FDR?
Factory Data Reset
Thanks. So, what's the error's origin?
at my app too
I have a SGY and i flashed a custom rom and at my YT app it shows "An error occuped" too. I cleared the data and cache but it still shows the error. I NEED HELP!!! sry for my english
I'm having this same issue, except on my Galaxy S II. I'm running CM10.
Same thing; "An error occurred", won't allow me to sign in. Previous versions of the app work just fine. Extremely frustrating, and nonsensical as it worked just fine a few weeks ago. Please help!!
Same error on my Note2 & Nexus7. Both are running custom ROMs. On the Note I'm able to sign in to an older version of the app (4.2.16) but still get an error. Getting a bit annoying now.
but my real Big problem is with GooglePLAY
Has this been solved? Getting the same thing on i777 Samsung Galaxy S2. Uninstalling youtube updates solves the problem. However I keep getting reminded by Play to update youtube app.
I have always had this problem with the N7. Like previously stated, some older versions work tho. I've started keeping a version which works in my Dropbox. After rom update, etc I install that version straight from DB. I get the Play Store constant nagging to update to ignore, but at least I have a usable version. Which Google would get it's **** together!

Have any of you ever used 2 step verification? Ever. After loads of pissing about, trying different things I eventually got it sorted by removing all the apps I had set up for 2 step about a year ago. I also removed a heap of apps from the Connected Sites, Apps and Services page of my Google account. (click profile pic>Account>security>2 Step Verification settings>Manage application - specific passwords). If you have any apps in the application specific passwords section, remove them.
If you've never used 2 step verification, try revoking access to some apps from the same page.
This worked 100% for me, can't guarantee the same for you. Good luck.

I've been having exactly the same problem. However, I have several Google accounts so I tried to logon using a different one and, lo and behold, it works perfectly with the other account. But go back to the falling account and the error comes back. Switch accounts, it goes away. So it definitely has something to do with the account.
In my case, the one failing is the main account that I use for everything. It would be interesting to see if other people have the same behavior. So far, I'm still having the problem...

Just for the benefit of the next person. I tried almost everything to solve this problem, to no avail. What I didn't do was a factory reset, as I believe (based on my previous comment), that it was an account problem somehow, since I could log on ok with other accounts.
How it inadvertently got solved? Well I noticed that if I tried to sign in, I'd get the message "an error occurred", but my "what to watch" recommendations matched that particular account. So I went to somebody's channel and subscribed and boom, suddenly I'm in ok, no error displayed.
Would anyone with the problem try that and report? I can now sign in and out without a hitch.

One fix that may work for you guys that worked for me is to uninstall updates to the youtube app in settings>>apps.
New update seems to have broken a lot of things with the app

[Q] Loss of Push Notifications in 4.2.2

Hi. I’m having a problem with my Nexus 7 fetching notifications, and I’m hoping someone might be able to solve the issue... without having to do a reinstall. I may have inadvertently caused the issue myself, but have no idea how and don’t know how to fix it.
To give you some background, I was using my N7 rooted with stock ROM all through 4.2.1, and life was fine. My problems arose when 4.2.2 was released OTA. For some odd reason, the update would download, the tablet would tell me so, but when I would try to install it, the bootloader would lock up in an error. Rebooting and going into settings to force a search for the update would return an “up to date” message even though I was still on 4.2.1. 2-3 days later, the icon would return to tell me that the update was downloaded, but attempting to install would only result in an error.
I finally decided to unroot and relock the device to install the update. Directly after, I rerooted it. Of course, one of the main reasons I keep root is to use a backup service, and I ran Titanium to reload my apps and settings. A while after, I noticed that my phone would ring to notify me of incoming texts, Facebook updates, emails and such, but my tab, which I often looked forward to mildly annoying me with an echoing chime, would not. Once I log in to an app, it will then suddenly deliver me whatever notifications have been awaiting, but that kind of defeats the purpose. I’ve also noticed that the WiFi icon, which was normally blue 95% of the time is not consistently gray. It NEVER turns blue any more. I’m not quite sure what that means, but I’m almost certain it is somehow related.
In doing some research to fix the problem, I discovered an app that adjusts how often it pings for notifications. I was hoping that, somewhere in the midst of the update and my reinstalling old data, I’d deleted or overwritten this “Heartbeat”, and that the app would fix it, but it sadly has not.
Anyone have any idea what I’ve done and how to solve this problem?

Might be a problem with your account configured on the Nexus. I had a similar problem when I was playing around with framework-res.apk One time I didn't put the right signature and so my account was only 'half' stable, I.e. the account was there, but no syncing. I found out when starting the play store, there I was asked for my account ...
After inserting and reconfiguring mail / calendar / ... everything works fine now.

I tried deleting the data from the Google Play Store and Google Play Services apps. Had done the same with Google Voice earlier. Nothing changed. What do I need to do to "put the right signature"?

Gmail sync broken

Hey everyone. I'm having problems on my Moto X pure edition with Gmail. Running stock marshmallow no root. My messages are not coming through until either the phone gets plugged in or I reboot or I open the Gmail app and pull to refresh. If I check under settings, accounts and google, the Gmail sync is constantly syncing, with the two little arrows next to it. Anyone else having issues? Seems to be happening since the mm update sporadically, but it's getting worse recently. I'd like to know when I have an email!

It might be because of doze. You may have to go into the apps battery settings and disable the battery saving profile for it. Not sure what the technical term for this is, but it's a marshmallow feature.

You are not alone.
AOSP Issue Tracker
Most of these reports are from Nexus users (of course). However there are several reports from other devices such as our moto X Pure phones.
I have almost the exact problem. It is not Doze causing the issue. To be fair, no one has a clear solution.
A reboot often clears my notifications up for a few days before it starts again.

Damn. We need a fix for this, it's one of the larger android level bugs I've had the displeasure of experiencing as of late

i've been having the same exact issue lately with my moto x pure. i've tried cache wiping, app data clearing and everything only thing i havent tried yet was a factory reset. Temp i've installed an app called Synker which has a tasker plugin for me to have my email resync every 25 mins. Hopefully google fixes this glitch asap. even older versions of gmail arent working tried uninstalling updates to the app still nada.
I've run into this before on an older device. That was on lollipop so I'm pretty sure doze optimizations interfering with sync aren't the issue. Clearing app data, and uninstall/reinstall (gmail wasn't a system app on that phone) couldn't fix it. I'm not sure what the trigger was, but whenever this happened a clean flash seemed like the only way to fix it so a factory reset ought to do it too. It always seemed like a problem with sync. Removing your google account and then adding it back might have a chance to refresh gmail sync and get it to behave again; I've never tried that - just occurred to me now.
I've since switched to Inbox for gmail and I haven't seen this issue affect it. They're similar, but I prefer the Inbox UI over the gmail app too.

Gmail not syncing since Nougat update

I updated to Nougat and now Gmail will not sync automatically. I have to swipe down in the app to get it to sync. All sync setting are turned on and I have tried disabling and force stopping the app as well as multiple reboots and nothing seems to be fixing the problem. Is this a known issue with the update? Does anyone have any ideas on how to fix it? Thanks
Same issue here as well, did you find a solution?
I had the Gmail syncing issue about 6-8 months ago and it eventually worked itself out after a couple of months. I think clearing play services might have helped. So far I haven't had the issue on 7.0. I have noticed a lot more activity over on the Google product forums in the last few days though with new reports of the problem again. You might check this link below.
