I'm considering coming back to Blackberry after about a year without one. Priv is the right size as my X Pure is just too big. Priv has the right screen type - amoled, X is just IPS. I'm not sure how much I'd use the keyboard, but not too important at the moment.
I really do not want to spend $700 on the phone, just way too expensive. OK with buying used, but can't seem to find anything... is the phone that good that nobody's selling or just nobody bought one to begin with? lol What price range should I consider for a used one?
Thanks
hard to say... I have seen a second hand one here in Australia go for $700 AUD (RRP Here is $1080) and that one had been dropped, and had damage on all 4 corners. Not heaps, but visible.
I was lucky enough to get one on eBay this morning for the same price, but it's hardly been used. With the current 10% off promotion for Valentines day, it's worked out to be a decent price! Now... the wait...
There are a few second hand for sale on eBay USA, keep in mind that their primary model is the -1

What do you mean by that?
Are there any other differences between the different countries than the keyboard layout? (radio?)
All Privs are supposed to take SIM-cards, aren't they?

Howdy,
What is the consensus on the re-sale value (USD) of a dell streak 5 considering:
Its in perfect physical and working condition.
It is unlocked.
Including original accesories, box, and commuter case.
Coming from a non-smoking household ( )
I searched craigslist and amazon; and it looks like average price is $495+. On other site I even see it for 700+ Considering I will be using all the proceeds for a Note (most likely intl v. given all the state side let down) should I be solid on 495+ until I find a buyer or accept lower offers like 390ish.
Its obv up to me but the resale value of the streak if prob going to plunge once the commoners catch on to the upcoming Note. That aside I really love the Streak, its actually difficult to sell it. And they love makes you stupid.
TIA for weighing in.
BTW I paid less than 300 for the device. That matters.

The note has already been released... I doubt many will be trading in their Streak for the LTE version. It will be a downgrade....

check ebay again.
and you paid 199$ to buy it from dell. everyone knows that.
you'll be lucky to get $250 on eBay, and less probably on Craigslist, unless you get lucky. I hope you get as much as you state, but I'd prepare myself (if I were you) for more in the range of $200.
Verizon 64gb with two batteries. New screen and fresh developers flash, new speaker. Basically new phone tempered glass installed with extra glass. Spiegen hybird case blue as well as 64gb SD card. Oh and see view folding cover.
Just trying to get an idea if I decide to sell.
Oops typo it's got 32gb internal 64 gb external. Oh and please let's not turn this into what phone ate you getting note 5 bashing thread.
I don't think a case or a screen protector really adds any value to a sale unless they are new in box. You're really only selling the phone and the extra memory is a little bonus. Who wants to use a used case or a used screen protector that has somebody else's greasy fingerprints embedded in it? Let's be honest, memory cards are cheap anyhow. That being said, it's a rarer phone that is hard to come by and you are including two batteries. If anybody is paying more than 700, They are getting ripped off. I wouldn't pay more than 600 if I were in the market for it.
Of course, if you're listing on Swappa, you have to up the price to cover the buyers fee, the shipping and the 2.9% Paypal fee. So add that to the dollar amount too. (For examples, my regular Note 4 is listed on CL for 55 bucks cheaper than it is on Swappa.)
Ok $600 for just the phone and batteries. I do have to disagree with no value for memory card. If the person doesn't have one they CERTAINLY would need to buy one. Just my thought.

True, but it's not like they are that expensive. I paid ten bucks for a 32GB Sony Class 10 Micro SDHC. I added mine in and did word it like it's a great bonus hoping that whomever buys it will agree and not just look up the price on Amazon. LOL
I wouldn't give more than 450 for a DE. I pick up perfect condition note 4's the last 2 month's for 300 and 325. As weak as verizon development is I couldn't picture 6 and 700 for a used, abused and repaired Note 4 DE... just saying even if it looks new, but have replaced speaker, and being a De, it's been worked and not been babied And I agree with the other guy, cases, screen protectors don't mean much to most. Also if you research you can pick up class 10 64gb cards for 30 to 35 bucks. Hell, I picked up a SanDisk 128gb for 80.00 a month ago.
Just my 2 cents!
Ok we got $600 or $450 without the goodies. Average $525 so far.
I'd do 450 because I'd rather have the note 4 than anything else new or old today. But it depends on the buyer, and how much they're willing to spend on a year old phone with no official support from Samsung or indie devs
I have a DE, but if mine broke, I'd honestly pay up to $800 for another one mint

I've seen several Developer Edition Note 4s, mint condition, going for $750.00, if you can find one...$700.00 for good condition and both for phone only, no case, so SD and no extra battery.

If I was in the market for DE I would go as far as $600 for a mint one. Even that is a bit of a stretch for a year old phone with little support. I'm happy with the phone I currently have and have no desire to downgrade but I thought I'd throw my 2 cents in.
Unless the retail gets root the VZW will not see much dev support. The dev edition would lose it's value if the retail got root. I say it's time to sell your dev edition while it's inflated value survives. With the Nexus and LG phablets coming soon the N4 will soon be a outdated and forgotten phablet. Timing is everything.

Interesting perspective, but the value is there because it's a supported device for android 6.0 with everything you could possibly love in a phone. As long as the resale value will be above $400 for at least another year, a DE holder should still ultimately profit or at least break even by not purchasing a $600+ phone this year and seeing what the next wave brings.
You need to check out the last page of this thread.
Look at all these people trying to lowball a guy offering to sell a Note 4 DE.
Meawhile this guy threw his up on Swappa for $1100.

If OP sold his N4DE for $500 or $600 he literally had it stolen from him.

Gold only. Grey is still 399. Ships in 3-5 weeks. Even if they cancel, they sometimes offer some freebies. If it does ship, great price. Too bad I already have one...
i have a feeling is a mistake or something but if this doesnt change im heading to best buy and get price match
P.S. i came across this little finding at the ZTE forums
It's only just come out and they're dumping stock? Seriously beginning to think there is something wrong with this phone.

I think they're dumping the phone, there's no such thing as a price mistake when the price is still roughly close minus all the incentives some companies like newegg were giving away.
Chinese companies notorious for getting rid of stock if problems happen. Because it cost more money for them to fix or support it, they rather just give cut their losses early.

Nah, it's definitely a price mistake. The only few times I've seen this happen, it lasts for about an hour same as this and was done by a price match slipping through.
lol, is NO longer available at that price, darn i should had got one when the mistake was there

Newegg was selling it for $399 + free headphones worth $99. Amazon does mark down deals to try to match those deals, I've seen it before So whether or not it's a price mistake, they're not giving it away for free.
Apparently it was just a price mistake. Amazon is honoring the price, but only one unit per person.

Why would you think THAT? Come on. Except for lack of Qi wireless charging* it's the Galaxy S7 Edge killer -- or at least very serious competitor -- and at half the price of that Samsung phone.
That price was either an Amazon bot mistake or possible scam seller, and the situation was quickly corrected.
---
* ZTE, if you had Qi wireless charging, I would be buying at least two of these phones. Put backlighting on your capacitive buttons and I would definitely be buying three.
I own three Moto XT1225 (basically the 5.2" version of the 2014 Moto Nexus 6 WHALE) -- with 1440p AMOLED, Qi wireless charging, 64GB internal storage, 3GB RAM, 3900 mAh battery, backlit capacitive buttons...
Google screwed up with the size of the Nexus 6, but the hardware specs were fantastic. Motorola then released a smaller version under the "Quark" code name and sold around the world: XT1225, XT1254, XT1250. Larger battery than the Nexus 6, but for some reason Motorola dropped the rear camera OIS and stereo speakers. But still FANTASTIC specs. 95% of Moto Nexus 6 in a reasonable size.
I bought three of the XT1225, for me, my wife, and a backup. LTE bands 2,3,4,5,7,17. Perfect AT&T phone, even if I had to import them from other countries.
This ZTE AXON 7 would be the logical successor with 5.5" 1440p AMOLED, 64 GB internal storage + microSD card expansion... Plus MORE RAM, stereo speakers, rear camera OIS.
If only it had Qi wireless charging and BACKLIT capacitive buttons, it would be absolutely perfect.
So my trusty Galaxy Note 3 finally seems to have given up the ghost, dementia of the nand chip. It's been a great workhorse, and I was really hoping it would last until the Note 10 came along but it seems it had other ideas. RIP.
There's a lot about the newer Samsungs that I don't really care much for (no replaceable battery, narrower screen than my Note 3, lack of physical front buttons, those silly curved-edge displays which make decent tempered-glass screen protectors harder to fit, etc) but it looks like I really don't have much of a choice now. I guess I'll have to accept the loss of many features that I liked (for the 'greater good', Samsung?) and be dragged kicking and screaming into 2019. (I know I could get a second-hand Note 3, but even I accept that's probably not such a good idea these days in terms of camera quality, processing power, etc)
The S10+ still has a slightly narrower display than I'd like (I don't care a jot how tall they make it, as like most of the UK I read from side to side, not up and down) but at least it has front-panel fingerprint activation, and has not ditched the 3.5mm headphone socket or the SD Card slot. The timing of the demise of my Note 3 stinks though - just after all the pre-launch offers on the S10+ seem to have vanished, but before the retail price has started to slide.
It seems there's very little choice but to pay around £899 for an unlocked 128GB SIM-free version. There are also some advertised for the £700 region on Amazon/eBay, but I assume they are grey imports? Apart from the lack of manufacturers warranty here in the UK (which I am likely to clobber fairly quickly by rooting it anyway) what are the pros and cons? And are there still any introductory offers out there that I have missed?
Thanks for helping out this grieving Note 3 owner who now feels like a traitor to his long-time faithful companion... :crying:

The Pixel XL was one I looked at. Nearly as wide a screen as my Note 3 (not quite, but about the same as the S10+ so little to choose between them) but it seemed rather lacking in other features, specifically no SD Card (which is a complete deal-breaker for me) and no wired headphone socket (ditto). At least they both have wireless charging, which almost makes up for there being no removable battery (a real retrograde step in phone design IMHO, I swap mine regularly on my Note 3). On the definite plus side, no curved-edge screen though.

If you aren't a student yourself, you must know one that has a Unidays account, use the Unidays -> Samsung link to make the order, you'll notice if the discount has been applied or not during checkout

Until it suddenly dies and warranty accuses you of doing something, plus it's a crappy phone overall, looks like an abomination and isn't even worth £500 for some silly low light camera. Almost forgot to mention the screen burn-in, walk in any Carphone Warehouse and find me ANY pixel without burn-in, it's insane they're still selling that crap, no wonder I've never seen a single pixel in the wild in Europe.

Note 9 512gb b&h $750
Well, looks like my Note 3 is definitely dead so I'm now actively planning on getting an S10+ to replace it. I'll have to live without root for the time being, I'm sure it will come as some point.
I quite like the idea of the ceramic black back cover (the 'pearlescent gloss' look of the regular black - closer to greyish - versions seems a bit tacky and will mark easily) but I don't think the 128GB version comes in that finish in the UK?
I've found a Spanish site that is offering 128GB Ceramic Black (https://www.costomovil.es/moviles-y...samsung-galaxy-s10+-128gb-ceramic-black-libre) but not sure of the variant that they would be selling (they state SM-G975FZKDPHE)? I'm assuming that any official European release version (SIM-free unlocked) will be the same base hardware and have the same cell-frequencies, so it would work just as well here in the UK as it would anywhere else in Europe, and I could install official BTU firmware via Odin anyway.
However if I buy now from Spain, and the UK does leave the EU soon, do you think Samsung will still honour their original 2-year purchase warranty here in the UK as they do now, based on the conditions at the purchase date?
Andre
I got a 64gb pixel C in a perfect shape... not even 1 scratch and with a screen protector and it's keyboard, but so far I don't know if there is a demand of it.
Do you guys know for how much could that be sold? I'm in Spain but I'll send it anywhere to be honest.
I'm just sad to throw it away as it is in a perfect shape.
Thank you everybody!
