Try wiping caches. And if that doesn't work flash a new ROM
why on earth would you bump a thread that is less than 10 minutes old?!?
Its already at the top
You need to flash back to a more stable version, you probably on some nightly
Sent from my Nexus 4 using xda premium
and it could be one of your apps wreaking havoc too

Well first you need a recovery which I assume you don't have yet. Read this to learn how to install one:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2018179
You will need to unlock the boot loader and then flash a recovery. (I would recommend TWRP)
Then boot into recovery and go to the wipe menu. From there, select cache and dalvik cache and then wipe them.
If that doesn't solve the problem, choose a ROM from the development section, download it and put it onto the /sdcard partition. Then boot into recovery and do a factory reset from the wipe menu. Finally go to the install menu and select the ROM you downloaded and flash it.
Unlocked/rooted still rebooting

I have this problem too! I tried the cyanogenmod rom, but now i'm staring at the cyanogenmod-logo....
I also tried getting into recovery or emergency mode, but the phone just refuses to jump into recovery.

I googled "status 7 error", but i didn't get that message. I installed the zip-file from CWM and that went "right", then i rebooted the phone and then i got stuck. Hard reset (power, volume down, home) doesn't work....just goes back in normal reboot.
Oh and i have installed the latest recovery from the ROM manager app.
I made one mistake btw, forgot to factory reset and wipe data

You need hard reset, try this several times and it will work http://www.hard-reset.com/lg-optimus-l7-p700-hard-reset.html
Edit. probably its softbrick, soo relax and u will find a way
Edit2. This is the official touch screen cwm. You will unzip it on the root of your pc ( C/ ) and do the 3 steps flash bootloader, flash recovery and reboot to recovery, it will reboot each time, and then u will not have status seven. http://hugefiles.net/mu8ta9a11mm8

You are in cwm? Strange, but its ok, so, wipe data, then wipe cache, then go in advance, wipe dalvick cache and the fix permisions. then reboot, and tell me what hapens
Edit. And if u finally unbrick it then u have 2 ways to install oficial cwm, first way is to instal rom manager from playstore and second way is to open your pc like adminastor and ectract the zip file i gave u in c/ ( i did it by this way)

First one came with a kdz- file, when i rooted the phone. Dont know the exact location.
On the rooted phone i installed rom manager and there i installed a new recovery.
Btw, now when i hard reboot i only get the LG logo
Edit: now i get CM-logo again.
But i can only hard reset if i press power, volume and menubutton (physical). I tried to do the same as the vids here, several times. But no success.

When i tried the bat files, i only had the LG logo and the laptop didnt recognize the phone. The bat files did nothing. Later i rebooted and i got to CMlogo again, but i didnt try the bat-files. But i did try the LG mobile support tool, and that program did find the phone. Unfortunately, it said it was an unsupported modell...
I will try the bat-file with the phone on CM-logo this evening.
I dont get any error-message when i reboot, just LG-logo and then CM-logo. It just spins and nothing more. I just cant get into CWM-recovery...
Thanks for thinking with me!

I just flashed a 802d stock ROM through TWRP 2.7 (AutoRec). I started out by wiping dalvik cache, cache and data. I then pressed Install and found the zip and installed that. After it was done, I did a dalvik + cache wipe again just to be safe (It asked if I wanted and I complied). Rebooted into system. It was quite buggy to begin with, so I wanted to try re-flashing, but it looks like my custom recovery has disappeared. I assume my root access went with it.
Everytime I try to get into recovery. It doesn't show the TWRP recovery, but merely ask if I want to factory reset my phone.
Currently, I'm downloading a clean kdz of the 802d ROM (it's taking a while) and aim to start all over with rooting and installing custom recovery and re-installing apps, but if anyone has a different solution, it would be most welcome. I'm quite the noob here. I thought TWRP would be fool-proof and would therefore allow me to restore a backup at any time. But currently, that does not appear to be the case.
Please do prove me wrong
Depends on what custom rom you were installing.

Ok first if you really do have custom recovery in the factory reset screen clicking the power button three times will boot you into recovery, if you can boot into the Rom then download a root checker app to check if you still have root

http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2736854 <- this is the ROM I flashed. It's a stock ROM containing the latest d firmware for the D802.
I just checked for root access - it's not there anymore. I will try to boot into recovery now through the method you suggested. I'll edit my post with the results.
Edit: Your method worked My recovery is there. Great! I thought it would boot straight into recovery, so the factory reset option mislead me. Now, I have to ask: did I do anything wrong in my flashing? For example. In the Mount section, only Data and Cache is mounted. Should system be mounted or is it irrelavant? Is there anything in particular I need to do in Wipe? I merely pressed Advanced Wipe and seleceted Dalvik Cache, Data and Cache and swiped to wipe. That's it.

Yeah, I did read that. This might sound stupid, but I figured that the listed SuperSU update was meant for people with an older version of SuperSU as in making sure to have the latest version of SuperSU, since I already had the latest version, I neglected to do that step. My bad. I will copy the zip in question to my phone and try re-flash both zips and see what happens. At least I have my backups to fall back on.
Another dumb question if you will. Since I didn't wipe any of my data. My apps are still present in the file system, but they are not installed nor do they have market links. Is there a way to install them or should I try to recover them through Titanium Backup? Or is it easier to simply wipe the data as well and use Titanium Backup to restore my apps?

I think you should wipe and restore from tibu since there isn't a guarantee that redownloading your apps from the playstore will keep there old data
Thank you so much for taking your time to answer my questions. The second flash seemed succesful, but it didn't fix my biggest reason for flashing the ROM in the first place: the hissing audio bug. So I'll just try to do a restore of my latest backup and I'll make do with my temporary fix that actually works.
While it may seem to that I have wasted everyone's time, I think I've learned some valuable lessons, so I don't think it was entirely a bad thing
Hopefully, my restore will be succesful

I did try that fix. It didn't remove the hiss entirely for me. Maybe removed 50% of the hiss, but I've heard of it working 100% for a lot of people. I've been using the ELT > Audio Loopback test from the hidden menu. It removes the hiss by about 99%. Only annoying thing is that I need to do it on every reboot which is why I wanted a more permanent fix.
Seems like my restore has caused a bootloop. Everything went accordingly, except the installation of SuperSU afterwards. Kept saying it failed to copy to the system folder despite system being mounted. The bootloop started when trying to boot into system after restore + failed SuperSU installation.
Edit: Fixed the SuperSU failure to install by wiping dalvik etc. but bootloop persists. I somewhat assume this is because the restore function doesn't work when the current ROM is different from the ROM the backup was made with? The backup was made with D802 20b firmware and the current ROM which is the one I flashed was the D802 20d firmware. Am I on to something?

I just fixed it by going into recovery and flashing the D802 20d firmware again. It'll do for now. Honestly don't know why the restore from backup didn't work. Either the backup was corrupt or I've done something wrong.
I did restore my apps (so far) flawlessly and the rom does appear to perform similarly to my older firmware. Plus there's added features such as knock code so it's not all bad.
I do have a D802 20d kdz firmware available on my computer in case I want to go completely stock and/or start over. But I'll give this one a try over the next few days and see whether I'll keep this.

you can either format data in cwm or in stock recovery format data/reset
or if that doesnt sort the boot loop quickest way to solve it is just to flash stock rom via odin
Remember next time before you do anything like flashing a mod or trying out something different to always make a nandroid backup in cwm - this way if you get into a boot loop or want to revert what you have done you just have to restore your nandroid backup
anyway stock rom firmware is found on my thread below

follow the instructions fully on my thread
you need to install the usb drivers
you need to put your phone into download mode (vol down home button power button)
cwm is not required and not used to flash stock rom via odin - you must be in download mode NOT recovery mode

if on stock kernel use a tempory cwm zip in stock recovery to get to cwm (need to do it each time you want to enter cwm

or flash any kernel that has a perminant cwm - your choice dont ask me to suggest

Dear XDA,
I screwed up... I think my device is now soft bricked.... :crying:
It all started good on a sunny saturday. I thought this was a good day to try another custom rom. Namely Codename Phoenix.
My device was already rooted so i started with upgrading my TWRP to the latest Blu_Spark TWRP 3.2.1. After flashing the recovery i continued with the ROM. It all went downhill from there....
The install finished and i booted my device. Knowing this could take a while i got into the shower thinking it would finish when i got back. But when i got back it was still booting. Knowing the first boot can take a while so I let it be. After an hour or so it was still stuck on the google logo and the weather and my mood changed for the worse.
I figured something in the process went wrong and tried to boot into recovery. That worked so I thought 'Cool, let's fix it there'. But the recovery was encrypted so i couldn't get to my data. Normally you put in your pincode and it decrypts your phone. This was not the case.... I couldn't put in my pincode so decrypting was out of the question.
Luckily ADB was still working so I downloaded the original Oxygen OS rom and tried to side-load it... This got stuck on 47% for no reason at all. Phone had 100% battery and didn't time-out..
I was really confused, but I let the device do it's thing and maybe things would work out... I was wrong. Everything was worse. Because i tried installing the original firmware it removed the custom recovery....
So now i have a device with no OS and I can't get into recovery. Luckily there is a unbrick tool for OnePlus 5. Following those steps i got stuck on the part that it does not show in my device-manager.
Currently i'm really grumpy and have no idea how to fix this.
I humbly ask for advice. Is this solvable or do i have a wasted OnePlus 5?
Thanks in advance,
Lennard
can you reboot to bootloader?
if yes, you can flash original or custom recovery...

Don't worry! Your device is safe. At most, you'll be required to wipe your data.
Try using the official twrp recovery here:
https://twrp.me/oneplus/oneplus5.html
If this doesn't work, let me know.

Thanks for these words! That's a big relieve
With your link I managed to install TWRP through fastboot. So now i have a custom recovery. The current problem is that my data is encrypted and I cannot decrypt it. There is no option to fill in a password since there is no OS that requires a password. So it's sort of a neverending cycle . Although fastboot, recovery and sideload should work now.
The thing is, previously I tried installing the original firmware and that failed at 47%. So i'm not sure what to do now.
I tried installing 'codeworkx universal twrp 3.2.1-0 recovery' since he seems to have fixed the encrypt issue. But when I tried sideloading the file it says "Zip file is corrupt!". So no succes there yet.
To be precise, this is the threat for Codeworkx Universal TWRP : https://forum.xda-developers.com/on...overy-twrp-3-2-1-0-oreo-oxygenos-5-0-t3725723
And i downloaded and tried installing: twrp-3.2.1-0-universal-codeworkx-cheeseburger.img
I was thinking about downloading the latest Codename Phoenix ROM, but when I try to download the latest release the file is name "Codename-Phoenix-NOS-8.1-oneplus5t-20180303.zip". That implies it's only for the 5t and not for the 5. So that could be my original problem? That i downloaded the wrong ROM?
That aside.
Should I try to get the download link for CNP and download the latest release for the OP5 and install that.
Or
Should i try to install the original firmware. Reset everything and start over from the beginning (unlocking, rooting, etc..)
Thanks again for all the help

Nice to hear that!
To be clear, does the TWRP decrypt you data? When you click install in TWRP, is it a bunch of randomly named files?
I think you should go ahead with installing CNP, you shouldn't have any problems with it now that you've got the correct version.
Good luck!

Wait! Staying encrypted is a bunch of trouble. I recommend u to follow these steps:
Go to recovery
Select wipe
Select advanced wipe
Clear dalvik and cache
Go back
Select wipe
Click "Format Data"
Type in yes
Go back
Select wipe
Swipe to factory reset
Reboot recovery
Transfer the ROM from PC to phone
Install it

Hmm, the installation should be a succes. But when i tried to reboot and start up the OS / System it just reboots into TWRP.... ? It's sort of boot looping into recovery.
I tried installing a couple of times with and without wiping dalvik/cache/system.
Could the install file not be complete?
On a side note, my data is not encrypted

Did you factory reset by going into wipe>swipe to factory reset?
If not then do that and flash it
