Help: Unknown IMEI, IMEI SV, baseband version. N-9005 LTE - Galaxy Note 3 Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

I have decided to root my N9005 2 days ago. So this is what i've done:
I was on version 5.0, I downgraded it to 4.4
i flashed Stock official ROM with a version of 4.4 using odin.
After that, my phone stop at Samsung logo. I then removed the battery and hold volume -, home, and power button.
I Flashed the CF-root. I tripped my knox 0x1 and i don't care since my warranty is due. Then i flash a recovery soon after i flashed a custom ROM.
After so, i checked my "about device => Status"
I found unknown IMEI and unknown IMEI SV", also i notice that i have unknown baseband version.
I then power off my phone, boot into recovery, and wipe cache partition and did full wipe.
I reboot to "Download" (The recovery ask me to install root, i chose "no")
Then i flash again the 4.4 official version.
Waited till it boot. After boot was completed, i immediately Checked my IMEI, and found out, it was still unknown.
My question is How to get back my IMEI, IMEI SV, Baseband version?
Thank you!

1. Why you downgraded your device to root it?
2. Why you didn't create a backup of your IMEI before make a downgrade that is risky for your device?
3. Flash the latest stock ROM via ODIN with .PIT file and clicking the Re-partition box. This method doesn't work maybe, but you don't have so much choices. Try it and if works, you will recover your real IMEI. You will have a beaty paperweight if not.

i downgraded because i can't see note 3 being rooted on version 5.0, therefore i follow this guide:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/galaxy-note-3/development/root-guide-note-3-lte-sm-n9005-lollipop-t3093183
I follow the part 1 procedure and yes i was able to downgrade from 5.0 - 4.4 version.
After im done with the downgrade, i checked this CF-auto-root guide: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2466423
I notice in the download area this "
SM-N9005 (International Qualcomm): CF-Auto-Root-hlte-hltexx-smn9005.zip
(only works on 4.4 bootloaders, if you're still on 4.3 use the old version which you can find here: http://d-h.st/J32)
Also the reason why i downgraded my version.
I was not able to back up my IMEI since i don't know that it will be wipe out after installing custom rom. I was not able to find a guide that i should back up my IMEI before flashing custom roms. Also i anticipate
that it would not be wipe out. Like on HTC Sensation, flashing custom roms does not give unknown IMEI, if ever it happens, i have no idea since i was not able to experience it on my part rooting a Sensation.
I already fix my IMEI number.
-I am here in Philippines, so what i'ved downloaded was Philippine Official Firmware ROM 4.4. Then i realize that my phone came from Singapore, Therefore i downloaded a Singapore Official Firmware ROM 4.4.
-I go into recovery, wipe cache, format and full wipe.
-I was going to boot on download mode. Whenever exiting the recovery coming from full wipe, it tells me that "NO ROOT" was found, Install SU or NO. I chose "NO".
-Then im on download mode, i use ODIN, Flash my Singapore Official Firmware ROM.
-After 5-10 minutes, my Note boot up, and noticed i already have signal bar, IMEI, IMEI SV and baseband.
I will now back up my IMEI number.

[Q] G901f rooted bricked after stock firmware lolipop flash

Actually it was not known to me that my g901f was rooted. I just flashed it with NEE stock firmware lolipop, which eventually bricked the set.
I tried Smart Switch manual insertion of Model and S/N, but it says no database verification. So i tried again odin 3.09 to flash with various firmwares which results in zero.
Set is in white screen mode, upon pressing power+lower vol+home it enters in downloading mode. I flashed 4 files + PIT of jovilonas but to disappointment. One strange thing I experienced that during flashing it always struck at image.ext.4 and failed, but I selected the T Flash option then it completed successfully but after reboot it is same as if there was no flashing at all. Before bricked it was having KitKat 4.4.2 and upon Kies software update check it showed country KSA Product Code NHK7 (as i recall but not sure about Product Code accuracy but at last there was 7, but dead sure about KSA as Country).
Please help me with flashable firmware link and proper procedure. Grateful to you.

Memory 1: as i have come to realize that my G901F was not Stock Rom Flashed and then Reflash to Root that ROM. It was already a Rooted Firmware Mod. Cause simply rooted Stock ROM when executed as Factory Reset it removes Root (as some one told me during my quest to unbrick it). Now it is clear to me that before flashing with Stock ROM, i factory restored the set but there was nothing changed and the root was there. Only issue was that it asks for wifi password whenever it restarts rather than storing it once.
Memory 2: There was no KNOX counter while it was on KITKAT 4.4.2. Neither in the Device Info nor in the Downloading mode (power+vol down+home). It always shows, ODIN MODE

dm-verity verification failed

2 days ago i flashed twrp on my pure stock note 4, i did backup my rom including EFS using twrp and then flash kyubi rom with nameless kernel, it all went well. just now i wipe data ,system, cache on twrp and restore my backup stock rom and it went well too...and then i try to flash stock rom using odin so i can get back the stock recovery mode for OTA update when MM releases.. the flashing was a sucess and phone booted but my data inside werent wipe.
so i went to recovery mode and saw this dm-verity verification failed on the bottom i proceed to wipe data and reboot my phone, its all working now no problems except i cant reset my phone with the setting inside it will just bring me to recovey mode and stay there with that message.
now i did some research, some saying will bootloop and stuffs but mine is all ok no problem except i cant reset it inside the settings..
anyone can help me get rid of that message/problem?
If you format everything in advance format in twrp and then flash stock firmware this message will go away.
got the same problem. Then I went to a local store. They helped me. Here are steps
1. Pull out your battery, check your serial number (S/N:....)
2. Download smart switch, enter emergency software recovery..... Enter your serial number
3. Turn off your phone. Enter download mode or sth ( I don't remember it clearly. just power + vol down or up. just try it)
4. Smart switch will recognize your phone. Choose a firmware to download. then wait
5. Enjoy stock firmware
Use kies3 reinstall drivers, then use emergency recovery in kies to reinstall your current firmware or opt to update to latest or most recent release or version then follow kies instructions
rooted s5 smg900r4
Hello everyone
I have found a way to fix dm-verity and DRK issues and it works like official, meaning no errors in stock recovery and OTA works with Official firmware, the problem is related to corrupted/deleted 3 files on /efs partition. I have tested it on SM-N910C so I guess it works on other Exynos variants, perhaps even on snapdragon if the partition layout is similar? Kies won't restore DRK or dm-verity check because it doesn't write to EFS. I can fix yours if someone is interested via Team Viewer, you will need the following:
1. PM contact me for Skype ID
2. Stock rom, rooted (any root method)
3. Adb debugging enabled and drivers installed (Kies or SmartSwitch)
After repair you can enter your stock recovery and confirm there is no DRK/dm-verity red letters error.
Regards,
magix01
please guide us the proceedure here .. i have a phone with same problem & i have to update it to MM ...

If you just unlocked your bootloader and thats it, your rom should still be the stock one.

Galaxy S4 (GT-i9500) Major problem

Hello everyone. I used Albe95 N5+S6 Port rom for my GT-i9500 and it worked flawlessly. I had TWRP recovery. After a lot of using I thought to re-flash the rom and start using it new, so I reinstalled the Rom file on my external SD card and flashed the rom using TWRP recovery and it was a success, but then I noticed I accidentally backed up some things which I didn't wanted to I re-flashed the Rom again, but this time when I (in recovery mode) wiped the data, I chose "Advanced Wipe" or "Advanced Reset" (It was something like that I don't exactly remember. So after that I reflashed the rom and when I had to press "Reboot" a message appeared above saying "Looks like super user is not installed in your phone. Do you wish to install it?" I said Yes and the screen went blank. I tried to reboot but It didn't. I removed the battery and then put it back again and tried to get into recovvery but recovery seemed to be lost and I ended up in Samsung's own factory mode where we have options like reboot, flash using external sd card, flash using adb, enable cp logging and etc. I tried to flash back everything but nothing works. Tried Odin and tried flashing custom firmware but it fails. If I reboot Samsung Galaxy S4 GT-i9500 comes on screen and then it goes blank no boot animation or anything like that. Please help me, Your help will be highly appreciated
I used advanced wipe many times before, I'm pretty sure something else caused your dilema.
And most Odin fail messages are caused by the USB cable, PC USB ports (back ports are recommended) and Windows version.
So what should I do now?
If the problems are caused by the above mentioned, you should obviously try to change things up.
It appears that your phone is in soft-brick.
Also, you lost your TWRP.
Check your bootloader version and install the stock firmware via odin. (If you still fail in odin, As GDreaper pointed out, odin fail could cause by usb cable, port and windows version so you need to keep changing until it works)
Root the phone. Reinstall the TWRP.
Then flash the custom rom again. When you install the custom rom please follow the cooker (custom rom maker) instructions on wiping.
Thanks for your comment. I'm kind of a noob, how do I check bootloader version? and how will I know after checking my bootloader version which stock firmware to install?
Bootloader has nothing to do with it.
If you flash a stock firmware, the Bootloader will also be updated to whatever Bootloader the download firmware has.
The only situation where the Bootloader would matter is if you try to go from lollipop to kitkat, in which case it will fail.
Thank you. My device is back now.
I am glad to hear that your problem is solved.
When I was on kit-kat, I did not check my bootloader version and flash the stock firmware with older version of bootloader which tripped the knox counter on my i 9500. That was why I said to check the bootloader version before installing the stock firmware. You can use app like phone info to see the bootloader info. Then install the firmware with the same or newer bootloader.
I recomend to Update drivers, Windows, Bootloader install Samsung Kies and Install TWRP again, After stock

On PD1 rooted rom, but still on OC4 bootloader help.

So i have spent the last 4-5 hrs trying to get this phone to work for my brother and i am stuck at the moment. Need some help
Ever since OC4, i never updated the bootloader, only the ROM. phone was in OK3....I followed the thread for unlocking the bootloader, and gained the MODE: Developer.
I tried to follow the thread for muniz and got the files i needed.
Once i got MM up, noticed that WIfi, capacitive buttons wouldnt work. So i reverted back to PB1 downgrade.
i once again followed the steps and got MM back into the phone, but still the same problem as above.
Here is how the phone is currently:
Bootloader screen: " Current binary custom, system status custom, reactivation off, qualcomm secureboot enable (CSB), AP SWREV S1,T2,R1,A1,P1 and MODE: Developer, UDC Start
Recovery : Currently it boots to TWRP 3.0.2-2
Once booted into android, i used Samsung Mobile Info.
Build Number: MMB29M.G900VVRU2DPD1
Kernel version: 3.4.0-8025411
PDA: G900VVRU2DPD1
CSC: G900VVRU2DPD1
Baseband: G900VVRU2DPD1
Bootloader: G900VVRU1BOC4
So, can i just update the bootloader to MM, unlock it, re root, and fix? DO i have to revert once again to PB1?
I need some direction as to how get bootloader to PB1 or PD1...
Thanks
Exact same problem here. I've been struggling with this for about a week now. PD1 bootloader will NOT flash in Safestrap or FlashFire. I even tried TWRP for the heck of it.
Sent from my SM-G900V using XDA-Developers mobile app
I had the same problem that I could not get the buttons to work over several days several and several different methods, each time having to ODIN back to PB1. Two of the times I even had to go find a flash file for firmware because the ODIN did not restore the bootloader back to PB1. When I did finally get it to work I followed the information in the OP for unlocking the BL that I will paste below the main thing being place the ROM on the phone storage not the SD as the files flashed below use the TWRP that doesn't see SD cards
Download these 2 files and place on phone And A Custom Rom
PB1_Flashfire_Prepare.zip https://www.androidfilehost.com/?fid=24572369242686444
PD1_Firmware_With_Dev_Aboot_Twrp_Recovery_Image_Flashfire_Only.tar.zip https://www.androidfilehost.com/?fid=24572369242686471
Reboot to TWRP and flash PB1_Flashfire_Prepare.zip
Reboot
Open Flashfire (It will be installed by the zip you flashed in TWRP) grant supersu permission
Goto Flashfire Settings check box to Flash bootloaders and uncheck box for Emulate framebuffer
Goto Actions
Now add Flash firmware package and choose PD1_Firmware_With_Dev_Aboot_Twrp_Recovery_Image_Flashfire_Only.tar.zip
Now manually check on all the partions to flash. Check them all make sure to scroll down. Now click check mark at top right for ok
Now on the warning dialog that pops up about splitting protected partitions select no
Now in the actions dialog box where it says reboot change that to recovery
So it should look like this
Flash firmware package
Primary Bootloader
Secondary Bootloader
Etc........
EverRoot
EverRoot Disabled
Reboot
Recovery
Click FLASH
When finished phone will reboot to TWRP
Wipe Data, Wipe Cache, Wipe System
Install Custom Rom
For the custom rom I used the one from here labeled G900V_PD1_Stock_Rooted_ROM.zip http://forum.xda-developers.com/ver...w-to-update-to-g900voe1-5-0-keeproot-t3149784 and the ROM took short of a min to boot past the samsung screen then roughly 8-10 mins to boot past the red Verizon screen.
Of course once it reboots and your up and going on the new rom you'll have to flash TWRP I used 3.0.0.0
Hope this helps.

Oh and if you make a Nandroid backup before you try PD1, you can always ODIN flash TWRP and then just restore your previous rom (that's what I kept doing after the first 2 total losses)

Thanks ecen92!! i saw your message a bit late, but i did go back at it with a fresh mindset last night and got it working!!
Here is how i did:
So, after many reading between the lines, something about bootloaders not flashing if the kernel and firmware dont match... anyways, since i was on OC4 i almost went back to a OC4 full tar, but couldnt find it... Glad i didnt.
So i decided to see if i could restore to PB1 fully, and start from there....
I flashed the PREPARE YOUR PHONE FOR ROOT from here http://forum.xda-developers.com/verizon-galaxy-s5/general/root-method-og5-ok3-t3290370
But after it finished, now i was in PB1 but still with OC4 bootloader.... something told me to redo it.... so i did.. i RE DID the above flash again!!! and once completed i was on a full PB1 with locked bootloader.
The trick for me was that i HAD TO FLASH THE PB1 FULL TAR 2X IN A ROW!
From there i did the working root method found on the same thread http://forum.xda-developers.com/verizon-galaxy-s5/general/root-method-og5-ok3-t3290370
After i gained root, i then unlocked the bootloader based on this steps http://forum.xda-developers.com/ver...t/rd-unlocking-galaxys-s5-bootloader-t3337909
After unlocking the bootloader, then i followed the instructions labeled in light blue called "Upgrade To PD1 Rom With PD1 Unlocked Bootloader From 5.0 TW Rom With PB1 Unlocked Bootloaders" (annoying a** color to see)
After which i was then on PD1 rom rooted, PD1 unlock bootloader and no more problems with wifi, capacitive buttons not responding, etc.
Hope i can help anyone else stuck with this problem.
Good to hear you've got it all working! :good:
I will make a post for those confused that still dont know how to properly update to PF4 rooted using this post http://forum.xda-developers.com/ver...w-to-update-to-g900voe1-5-0-keeproot-t3149784
The initial instructions for rooted arent too clear. I have asked for clarification from the source and others, and my questions have fallen on deaf ears.
I had my brothers phone on PD1 rooted/unlocked, and by flashing the rooted version on the OP followed by stock PF4 bootloader, bricked the software. (The msg that it cant boot) and after D-king around for 4 hrs, i finally got it.
Anyways here is the steps i did ( i dont own steps, just trying to copy paste info to paint a clear picture)
Had to flash the PB1 full tar on ODIN
Then i had to root the PB1 as mentioned here. http://forum.xda-developers.com/verizon-galaxy-s5/general/root-method-og5-ok3-t3290370
After root i had to unlock bootloader. http://forum.xda-developers.com/ver...t/rd-unlocking-galaxys-s5-bootloader-t3337909
I used Method 2: Unlocker via Safestrap Samsung_Bootloader_Unlocker.zip in safestrap or flashfire
After this i verified i was on PB1 rooted and unlocked.
From there i went to Flashfire and flashed G900V_PF4_Stock_Rooted_ROM.zip (For "Unlocked" Bootloaders Only!) as posted on the OP
This placed me on PF4 ROM and firmware, but with a PB1 unlocked bootloader. (This is where the back button, recents and wifi dont work)
I then flashed TWRP 3.0.0 via ODIN
From there i followed the "If You Already Have Bootloader Unlocked And On A Samsung TW Rom" found here http://forum.xda-developers.com/ver...t/rd-unlocking-galaxys-s5-bootloader-t3337909
In case instructions changed, like it has on the past, they are:
In TWRP Flash TWRP_Prepare.zip
Reboot to Download Mode
In Odin Under AP slot load PB1_Firmware_Only_NK2_Kernel.tar.md5
Now in Odin Under PIT load S5_KLTE_USA_VZW.pit If you have a 32gb phone instead of 16gb phone skip this step
Click Start
When finished on reboot watch for Safestrap Splash Screen and enter Safestrap
Now goto Power Menu/Reboot Menu and reboot to Download Mode
Make sure in download mode the current binary is Official. If it is not reflash In Odin Under AP slot load PB1_Firmware_Only_NK2_Kernel.tar.md5
Now in Odin Under PIT load S5_KLTE_USA_VZW.pit
Click Start on reboot enter Safestrap reboot back to download mode and make sure binary status is Official
If Binary Status is Official Pull battery restart and enter SafeStrap
Flash: SafeStrap_PF4_Bootloader_Unlock_AIO.zip
Phone will Power Off.
Pull Battery enter download. Flash via ODIN TWRP 3.0.0 as the previous flash will install 3.2 which doesnt see the SD card.
There u go, thats it, this will have you on a rooted/unlocked PF4.

IMEI number lost after flashing ROM (no backup)

I know there might be another similar topic but I couldn't find any help so far.
Basically two days ago I flashed custom ROM on my phone, I didn't make any backup. At first it worked perfectly. I decided to flash ROM again and formated my phone and found out that EFS partition was lost. I didn't get any mobile data and my IMEI number was lost (0000000). I've read that IMEI is actually stored on some chip so is there any way to restore it back? My phone is Samsung Galaxy A5 2017. Any help will be appreciated.
Trying to flash latest stock rom from sammobile but after flashing it with odin it starts bootlooping and saying "no command" again and again. When holding power + home + volume up I can NOT access recovery. Any solutions, please?
Anyone? Is there any solutions for my problem??
Is it possible to downlaod EFS file for my phone and somehow change IMEI in the file?
just flash stock rom, i did on my galaxy ace i flashed custom rom and imei gone, after stock flashed via odin imei back.
Thanks for your answer! I tried indeed flashing latest stock rom from sammobile with latest odin. But when I bootet phone up it said "no command" with dead android logo and kept bootlooping. I can try different version of rom, maybe it helps.
Still my problem is unsolved. Any clues what to do would be great.
You probably flashed a wrong firmware which is not for your variant.
Can you remove your battery? If so remove it and put it back and enter download mode by pressing volume down, power and home button. Afterwards, find the firmware which is for the specific variant of the phone. Only get the "HOME_CSC" version or else you will lose all you data. In odin, if it says added, flash the stock firmware and see if it boots to the system. If you could give me your variant, I could help and give you an even more detailed guide.
