Hey guys,
I upgraded my phone with the OTA file from this thread:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/moto-x-play/general/ota-xt1562-single-sim-reteu-sytem-t3302135
Since then my phone seems broken when I try to charge it offline. At first it shows the battery with the charging symbol in it.
But then it won't show the actual battery percentage instead it shows the Moto logo and powered by Android.
After that nothing happens until I restart the system with the power button.
I have already made a factory reset with the stock recovery mode.
I'm a little bit confused because I haven't heard anything about this problem on the forum.
Thx for helping me out!

Ok, so I have a Bell atrix and followed the instructions on this thread to install GreyBlur:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1070076
I have not done deodex on the phone.
My phone ran out of battery and shut down, so I plugged it into the wall with the moto charger and the red logo came on, but then froze. Usually the battery charge status would come on (before i installed GreyBlur). But now it just gets stuck on the red M logo. If i unplug the phone, remove battery, install back in and turn on the phone without the cable, the phone turns on fine and i can charge it with the wall charger after the phone is booted. But not when the phone is turned off.
anyone knows why?
protip 1# change thread title to relate to the problem you face instead of 'OMGZ LOLZOR HELP MEEEE!!!!' you will get more responses
now for your help
a few things: do you have Tenfers CWM installed? im assuming you do as you are trying to do Greyblur
sounds like to me the phone is bootlooping. my solution would be to start clean with a frsh SBF install as this will be the quickest solution
I changed the title, thanks for the tip
Yes i do have CWM installed.
I have already installed greyblur with no problem as i followed the instructions that were provided in the link above.
There is nothing wrong with the phone as long as it is not plugged in to the charger. It boots just fine and loads greyblur. But as soon as I shut the phone down and plug the charger, it gets stuck on the M logo.
I am kind of a noob and would appreciate it if you tell me what you mean by 'installing a fresh SBF'
thank you
Hey there,
you may want to make sure that you set the system recovery app back to charge mode as this may be causing your error.
^^^ thank you so much. I tried what you said and it worked
glad to help
After a year of playing with Galaxy S3 I got bored with constant flashing and well, I never got used to onscreen keyboard.
I wanted a phone that will just work and decided to go for a Droid Pro+. Device was form Germany as there is no official distribution in Poland. It worked like a charm for two weeks till just now.
While playing with it (changing ringtones and stuff) I got several messages about services failing - com.service.usb, com.service.google, etc.) As it happened before (but only com.service.usb) I restarted it - in a normal way - power button and then Reboot. It rebooted and after that got stuck on M logo.
The firmware was as stock as it could be. No modifications were made. What's strange, the device can't be hard resetted. I can hold the power button for several minutes and it won't turn off.
Recovery mode works, but wiping does not help. Fastboot also works, but RSD Lite shows N/A in every column of Device info. I flashed GB 2.3.6 (5.5.1Q-110_ELW-TA-36-65-release-keys-signed.Retail-en-GB.tar) found on XDA. The rom itself should be OK, as no functionality was lost (recovery and fastboot), but the device still hangs on the boot logo. Device info is still N/A.
Could it be a hardware malfunction or is there something else I could try? Warranty is probably not an option since as i mentioned there is no official distribution in Poland. Any help would be appreciated since I'm out of ideas by now... Also, does anyone know if the battery is charged when in Recovery or fastboot mode? Connecting to a charger ends up on the M logo. And because very few people in Poland have Moto devices I have no other way to recharge the battery.
Hi guys,
I have an issue with my phone:
Yesterday, tried to restore factory settings, since the phone was quite slow.
A second or so after I confirmed the reset, the phone turned off and wouldn't start.
I took out the battery and it was swollen.
I bought a new battery today, inserted and stated the phone.
What happens now, is that the phone boots, Samsung logo appears, then the TWRP logo appears, from this point, the phone stuck at this logo screen,
and flashes every few seconds (I can't post a video here, so I can share the link in private, if anyone can take a look).
I tried to leave the phone for about 20mins without battery at all, removed SD cards, removed SIM cards, no use.
Trying to boot to recovery or download mode gives the same result.
Tried today with an original battery of a friend's Galaxy S4 , same result.
Does anyone have an idea what I can do?
Thanks in advance for you help

Sound to me your power button is stuck/faulty. Does it reboot also when in download mode? If so, then it's your power button. Wiggle it loose or replace it.

It never gets to download (or recovery) mode...
It keeps flashing at the logo of the TWRP
Trying to boot to download or recovery modes, gives the same results
I don't think it's the power button. Otherwise it would turn off if it is stuck or not turn on at all if it's faulty.
Still, I wouldn't exclude it.
The screen flashing might related to a GPU problem. I don't think it is a problem you can fix yourself.
This post is more informational if anyone get the same problem with huawei p8 lite.
Today i have plugged my phone to charger, power it on and realized that after an hour battery is still at 3%. After reboot nothing changed. I want to mention that battery is not broken and its phone issue, it can happen on every p8 lite phone. Ok, phone plugged, showing charging but starts to loose % till 0. After that i have long fight to solve problem with charging. On some site i read that powering up and plugging at huawei logo at good moment fix it and ppl agreed with it, but i cant get the timing and have issues to even power up phone. Here's what i do:
I tried to boot in recovery (have stock rom, and twrp) and phone was at 3% not charging still. I go as far as i can to advanced>file manager opened data folder and simply delete batterystats file (only way to wipe battery status through twrp) and it works as charm. Hope that you wont get that problem but if you had it try wiping batterystats, or try your timing with mentioned above metod: https://www.ifixit.com/Answers/View/265933/Why+my+phone+doesnt+charge#answer343508
additional info:
-stock rom android 6.0
-flashed xposed, dolby atmos & camera tweaks
-twrp 3.0.2-0
-orginal charger
I have an S5 with stock Samsung ROM which I rooted some years ago with Magisk and TWRP recovery. For the last few years it has only been used as an alarm clock and I have forgotten how I set it all up in the first place, in fact I had forgotten that I ever rooted it. Up until now it has been working fine but I wanted to give it to my 9 year old daughter to use, so I did a factory reset on it through the normal Android menu. After that the phone works but will only charge in Recovery, not when its off or when its booted normally. Same cable and charger that I have been using up until now and I also tried others but didn't make any difference.
When the phone is off and I plug in the charger,it vibrates, the battery symbol comes up for a second and it displays the message "set warranty bit: kernel" then the screen goes off. The charging LED does not come on. Then after about 10 sec it does the same thing again: vibrate, battery symbol, message, screen off and just keeps going round that loop but never charges. When the phone is booted in normal mode it doesn't seem to detect the charger at all, nothing happens. In Recovery it charges perfectly but its a bit inconvenient!
I tried restoring the last TWRP backup that I had which seemed to contain all the partitions but it hasn't made any difference to the charging problem. It seems the phone has power and CAN charge but is deciding not to. Any ideas please how I can get it back into operation?
Model: SM-G901F
Android 6.0.1
Kernel 3.10.40-9709634
Build MMB29M.G901FXXU1CRH1
Magisk 19.3
Magisk Manager 7.3.4
Magisk version is old but I have not attempted to update it yet in case that makes the situation worse.

Never mind, I got it working with a different charger. Very strange. The first charger works fine with my Huawei P20, maybe too high power for the S5? Although I thought the device only draws the power it needs even if the charger is capable of more.
