Rooted and keeps booting into recovery - Nexus Player Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

My Nexus Player is rooted and when it's not in use for awhile it boots into recovery on is own.
I've turned off sleep and daydream but it still does it. Not sure why.
Any help?

Worked pretty well. I ended up having to install the System and root individually because it kept hanging. But in the end it all worked out and I'm all updated and no booting into recovery.
THANKS!!!!

I have the same problem.

[Q] Took OTA by accident, can't get out of TWRP.

Hi all,
Thanks in advance for any help. I was half awake this morning and accidentally took OTA even though I'm rooted, yes stupid move. Now I can't get out of TWRP no matter what. Tried recovering to an older backup, tried reflashing an older rooted stock I had, absolutely no luck, phone just boots into TWRP.
Please advise.

Yeah I was thinking that too, just wondered why 1. The date was May 29th and 2. It didn't mention it was Dev Edition?
Does the dev edition have a different build number on it? Everything matches to my device. Still downloading the files

Here is what is shown on the official site "G900VMKAVZW" soooo ?
I hope will work for the att version also
Here goes nothing....
Well, I got a pass!..but then root checker shut me down sooo I'm not quite sure what this is???
Nothing to see here. It's just a stock non-rooted odexed firmware tar. No different than what's on Kies.
That site/article is nothing more than a click bait.

So I got the Oden3_v3.09, and I went for it. Got the 'Pass' and now I get a different response when I go to Superuser, "There is no SU binary installed..." and TWRP manager crashes now. The good thing is, I didn't brick it. Next idea please.

As stated above this is merely a stock ROM which is why you were able to get a "pass"

Stuck on TWRP after factory reset. Pls help

Hello my fellow v20 users. I'm in dire need of you wisdom and guidance. Today I was getting ready to hand my phone to my brother so I did a factory reset. My phone is a Sprint V20 rooted and bootloader unlocked with the dirty Santa method and I had installed the us996 deoxed ROM on it.
Everything was working perfectly and I enjoyed the phone very much. However after I did the factory reset in TWRP (I did the plain swipe to clear reset) the phone just rebooted into TWRP again and again and no matter what I do. I already have tried reinstalling the same us996 deoxed ROM I was using to no avail, I have tried another ROM and the same result.
I tried following some advice which I found on the forum that said to wipe the phone in a certain order and then install the ROM and then pull the battery and the same result it boots into TWRP. At one point I even tried flashing a different TWRP and I lost the ability to boot into recovery wahtsoever! However flashing the TWRP I was using before that granted the ability to get back into the recovery but now I'm back at square one. No matter what I do the phone always boots into TWRP. I really am at a loss here and don't know what else to try or do. If someone could please help me I would really appreciate it. I can also let someone remote connections to my PC if that would help. Any help would be really appreciated.
Edit (SOLVED!) Many many thanks to user Jinkerz9430 for all his help and the solution to my problem. He will post the solution for other people to use.

But there are several threads that have been created for the exact same situation. And some of them have the answer you are looking for. One of them is the method i have used every time to get out of the loop (which rarely happens to me). Have you looked inside those threads? They are inside the Q&A section or the discussion section.

I'm sorry I have tried looking everywhere and tried many suggestions in those threads, at this point I wouldn't be able to tell which ones I tried so far. Could you please tell me what worked for you? Or point me to that thread? Thank you very much in advance.

Try to install lineageos or resurrection remix or aokp. And see if it runs. Then if it runs, wipe everything and go back to stock.
