I discovered this tonight while at the gym. I was leaning over on some equipment with the phone in my pocket and every time pressure was applied to the phone my Bluetooth audio would cut out and distort until pressure was released. I didn't test it much to see if somehow the piece of equipment was blocking the signal, but I think that's extremely unlikely. I did quick search and found a similar post on reddit about it.

I am using a pretty solid case so I think the pressure is being applied to the screen. I use the supcase unicorn beetle hybrid case.
It seems like there is a new problem popping up with this phone fairly often. It makes me wonder how much testing Huawei performed on this phone.
Regardless, I'm sorry to hear of your issue. It's kinda odd and I wonder what's causing it?
3D Touch for mute?
I don't have bluetooth headphones but I use an A2DP adapter in my car that is hidden under the dash. It sits about 3 feet from the phone when it is in the dock, and is "obstructed" by plastic molding, mostly. I'll try applying some light pressure to see if I have the same issue.

Have you browsed any of the other phone forums or subreddits? You'll see the same thing.
The only logical thing I can think of is that everything is packed to tightly within the phone that applying pressure in a certain area creates a short. There might be something metal touching something to short it out for a moment. What else is strange is that my Bluetooth headphones didn't lose connection, it was only the sound, but I should also add that it was only for a brief moment that pressure was applied... Probably not even 2 seconds. Maybe it would need to be longer before the connection is dropped or it really is just the sound being effected.

I tend to use a BT headset with my Athena most of the time, but today I forgot it before going out! so I had to go back to using the Athena to my ear, not a huge problem with hands my size, however even with the volume down to its lowest it was still way to loud. Does anyone know of a reg hack or small program that will let you lower the volume down to a discreet volume, and not a hands free volume? its not a problem most of the time, but as a paramedic some of my calls can be a little personal. Its just in case it happens again. you can appreciate I'm not in the position to nip home for left items

I put my fingers over the loudspeakers.... isn't confortable but it works!
I have been thinking about this issue a bit lately myself. My thought is to glue something over both the left and right speaker to completely or almost completely seal it. I might try with different materials and see the effect. May be we can make it almost like a normal embedded earpiece.. just thinking.

i already tried to put tape over the speakers, and can tell you it wont work out. it is like the hole athena will sound, the backcover acts like a speaker. when you tape the speaker holes it sounds a litle bit like it came from a cave, but is still much to loud for a 'private' conversation. i think you have to grab a soldering iron and a resistor, to come to a solution, or someone find a way to reduce the volume by software some more than the volume slider can do.

Buy several cheap sets of earbuds and put them in different locatations where you might need them (car, office, briefcase). Not needing stereo for phone calls, clip off one of the earbuds for easier handling.

Well that is a good idea, and one that I have done already. One at the ambulance station, one at home, one in the car, and one in the rig. three ended back at home AHH the price of age! The one in the rig got nicked, so ive put them all back now, but thats why I need the program or hack.

That is a good idea, could it be so, that there is a kinds of software, that we can adjust the volumen of left and right speaker, so that we can just use the right speaker or just use the left speaker, what ever. has anybody heard of that kind of tiny little soft ware?
Is there a regestry setting to lower the in call volume on the athena itself, so it would start at nothing?
Any solution on this "problem"? Sometimes my headset runs out of battery.

This only seems to be a problem with some of the cooked ROMS. The original WM6 ROM that came with my 7501 had a good low-volume level, but when I switched to AP4 the low-end is what used to be about mid-level before.
It must be either a registry change, or a sound driver.
Or a software that make it possible to decrease the volume more

While charging my HTC HD, I answered an incoming call. It was then an electric shock strucked me on my ear when the speakers touch my ears.
Does anyone else experienced this? or is my set faulty??

Haven't experienced this sounds like you may have a faulty device or you have a lot of static electricity built up in ya!!

Static. If it was dodgy, then it wouldn't be a single shock but a constant tickle on your ear. You had grounded the phone with the charging cable.

I got my diamond replaced several times for this reason.
I found the prolem was a metal casing and no earth!
To replicate the problem, plug in the phone and hold it to your ear by the plastic of the charger cable making sure your only contact with the conductive part of the phone is your ear.
The phone will ground itself through you and you will hear a buzz and feel a tingle.
It is not really dangerous and will not cause any damage, however, it is really annoying!
I haven't yet experienced this problem with the HD, but that said I haven't spoken into it whilst it's been charging yet (The HD's battery is way better than the Diamond's).
I had the same problem with my Vario III. Put it down to static
I guess some people has more static than others.. I beg someone will not call whenever i'm charging my HD...
This has nothing to do with the casing of hd.It's simply static mate and it's not dangerous.Yes i agree it's anoying though.
I had 2 issues not with my hd though.The one i was trying to pick up the sugar from the table and as i had touched the vase it hit me and it sparked out on me.
Couple more minutes after i tried to open my ps3 to play some resident evil 5 and it hit me again.
I am sure i build up a lot of static.

Another typical hint prior to touching an electronical device, i.e. usually when you work with its insides, is to touch a properly grounded object in your room, e.g. the heating.
Furthermore, I guess a proper case would reduce the risk of being electrocuted, the silicon one seems to be ideal IMO but I'm not an expert in such matters (anyone here please ?). I use the PDAir alu case, which has some neopren inside the case...
Finally, if this does not get any better to you, the idea would be to configure a profile with one of the profile tools which upon connection to a plug would automatically turn off the phone function so that nobody would be able to call you while your phone was plugged. I understand though that this would significantly reduce the usability of your phone...

Has anyone encountered any issues with their speaker apart from that infamous volume balance?
My right speaker refuses to play anything but if I press the chassis of the transformer together the speaker works but stops working as soon as I let go. To me it sounds like some sort of loose connection/contact.
How easy is it to dismantle? Has anyone encountered a similar issue?

My left speaker doesn't work, but very occasionally will momentarily come to life. Squeezing the edge doesn't make a difference. I assume its a loose connection, but I have'nt done anything about it yet.

Hey OP, I have the same issue, except mine still plays at times, gets fuzzy and buzzy at loud volumes, then stops. However, if I press the right side together, it plays again, so it's not noticeable if I use a really tight sleeve on it, but with the loose sleeve I normally use on it .. :/
Same here, when it does play, its very buzzy. I am inclined to open it up and check if its some loose contact or something but I don't fancy messing my Transformer up as of yet lol.
No problems with either of my Transformers myself, but there were a few reports in the past of poor connections to one of the speakers on some TF units. (Right speaker, if I remember correctly.) Forum search will find them.
If my TF had these issues I would send in for repair

My left speaker quit working all together and right speaker from the start was extremely weak. I sent it to ASUS for repair with less than one week turn around and both speakers are nice now. Well worth the time to have done properly.
I'm scared of the RMA process tbh :/
I Managed to fix mine if you people are interested.
It involved disassembling the Transformer.
I took the speaker out of the "compartment" it was in, switched on the tablet and put on some music. No music came out. Pressing the speaker in sound came out but as soon as I let go the sound disappeared. I cut out a small piece of paper and folded it a couple of times and placed it in the compartment the speaker goes in.
When I put the speaker back in the paper sort of squashed the speaker in a bit which in turn kept playing music.
Its not the best of explanations but if someone has a similar issue they may be able to use that as a guideline lol

Its not very hard. You just need some patience as removing the bezel is the only bit you need to be careful with.
You would need a Phillips screw driver (one of the small ones) and a Torx T5 I believe was the correct size.

To remove the bezel he uses a plastic tool with a very thin edge but many people have had success simply using a guitar pick to remove the bezel. Luckily I had one of those plastic tools and was able to remove it.
Once you can see the insides:
That little black rectangle on the right is the speaker, inserting the small screwdriver in the compartment its in, you should be able to take it out and if your encountering the same problem as me, just press and hold the speaker from both sides to see if audio works.

This happened to me tonight while watching a youtube vid! Been looking through the forums for successful speaker replacements and messaged one guy already who might have the correct replacement speaker part.
Will update when I know more.
Cracking it open is very easy as long as you take it slow. I did it to fix my power button. It is pretty well known by now that the TF101 was one of the most cheaply built but still amazingly performing tablets on the market.

I've finally had enough with the headphone problems many have reported, the distorted sound and triggering voice commands. I've previously swapped the jack with a new one(had to buy a whole mid frame) and now it's started doing it again, about a month later(the original one lasted just as long).
The issue is that this phone is huge and when using it in my pocket with the headphones on, it moves that jack with every step. This wouldn't be a problem if the jack was soldered on or at least wired to the board, but instead it's just placed on top.
So I've decided I want to solder it on. I'm a bit scared as I've never soldered to a pcb board... And I might desolder other items. I'm going to hone my skills first on some other broken devices, but at this point I'm pretty sure I'll do it in the end.
Has anyone else here done this? Want to watch me possibly destroy this otherwise great phone? Heh.

Dude you're nuts. Just go get some Bluetooth headphones, it's 2016!! I literally haven't used my headphone jack more than 3-4 times in the 4 months I've owned this phone.
Also, I'm pretty sure the headphone jack isn't soldered in specifically so that if the jack moves around a little it won't cause damage to the board. This is common on most/all phones. Soldering it down would be a TERRIBLE idea. You will likely damage your phone.
Why didn't you just send it in for warranty repair?

Hi, I couldn't send it in because I unlocked it, which voided the manufacturer warranty. If I remember correctly on my old galaxy s4 it was plugged in with a cable, which was a much better solution. The reason my sound interrupts is because when it moves, it moves the pins on the board causing slight interruptions.
However the pins in the jack are long enough and soft enough that they would bend first instead of breaking the board.
And about Bluetooth headphones? I've bought 3 different sets, they either have huge controllers hanging and pulling on one side, or they are too big, or they're poor quality, I've spent more than I want to admit on different sets (see attachment).
So today I'm going to try and solder the jack, and throw this phone away if I break it and buy a small one, that doesn't put that much pressure on the jack in my pocket.

Well, it didn't work. I knew it would be hard to solder the little legs that where under the actual jack. Getting them all melted and touching before they cool down, without melting the plastic or the rubber around the jack was not possible in the end.
Only 2 of the 5 pads actually stuck together, and there was only a buzz coming from the headphones. I decided to open it again and remove the solder just in case something was shorted, I didn't want the sound chip to get toasted. My biggest mistake was leaving the glue on the jack, which stuck to the mid-frame. When I pulled that apart, the jack, with the two pads came with it.
I'm putting the pictures up if anyone wants to have a look at the mess, you can see in the first and second picture why my sound is interrupting: the pad is damaged from continuous friction.
The phone still works so I've lost nothing other than my time.
BTW, at the moment I'm using wired headphones to a Bluetooth adapter. Until they make smaller/lighter wireless headphones I'm stuck with this.
They got Bluetooth without the wire hanging thing that bugs ya (bugs me too) don't have a name or link right now but a quick Google search should pull them up

Yea, I saw Jordan Keyes review these ones. They are too much like having screws screwed in your ears. If they can get them smaller, and still have 2-3 hours battery, I'll be interested.
I am not sure how the LG Tone type of Bluetooth ear buds are any more intrusive than regular earbuds with a cord hanging down the side of your body! They definitely last a long time for me.

Use this instead, it's a taotronics tt-br05 Bluetooth wireless receiver, you can plug your wired headphones in it and use Bluetooth instead of the 3.5mm plug.
Has play/pause and volume/track change buttons. Also has a mic for calls.

They only have 1 hour battery before you have to plug them in the little tube to charge again. The battery technology isn't there yet.

Good option, but it wasn't great sound quality.
Anyway, I've bought a second hand Xperia z5 compact and use that now. The moto x style has become a in house tablet.
Doesn't matter what I connect, it doesn't feel like it's every inserted completely and because of it I've been getting really irritated when the music stops.. Can I replace it and keep the same audio quality?
Or should I wait to trade it in?
Are you 100% sure that there is nothing stuck inside the port that is blocking a secure connection? Could be something pretty tiny even as it wouldn't take much to prevent the plug from clicking in completely

i faced this with my g3, if the headphones do not have a mic its a 2 connector and idk why but it makes teh phone think u hit the answer/call/play/pause button, just get a headset with a mic, problem soft or get bluetooth and dont sweat it at all

Pocket lint has done this to me several times. I put a little hook on a tooth pick and reached in. Every time I think no possible way, that's what it is.
You can also pull the cotton off a q tip and twist in there.

yup. my v20 started this with my car aux cable. activates google now constantly, stops music, any slight bump of the 3.5mm jack and im jacked.
Took phone apart cleaned with denatured alcohol and still the issue. The port is cheap and the connectors are not sufficently making contact with the aux end. Its a sh!tty quality part LG dumped on the phone so our quad dac experience would suck.. Just poor manufacturing is the issue imo
I have the same issue whenever I use a headset or plug without mic/buttons; Google Now keeps activating unless I position the cable just right, and it is extremely annoying. I also checked the circuit board when fixing my SD Card slot and noticed that the headphone jack is soldered on, so I wouldn't mess with that unless you have a lot of soldering experience under your belt.
