Lg g4 poll of users with no hardware failure so far - G4 General

Please pick one guys
I've read all over and only anecdotal reports so far; but the boot loop hardware failure is even more unsettling for those of us with no warranty or who may be without warranty soon
I'm hoping this helps everyone in buying, deciding to move on to a new model maybe just at least help the hysteria that we've been having here and all over the other popular Android
The poll is anonymous
Also it may not show up in a apps like Tapatalk.... You'll need to view in a web browser
Thanks in advance
Darren

Zero issues for me so far
Sent from my LG-H812 using Tapatalk

Please vote everyone
Hopefully this may shed some light and help both current and prospective users when buying g4's

Voted. H815 505x failure.

Thanks so far guys

H815 506 so far so good ..
5 months of usage , now on V20D Euro update by LG UP

On v20d myself h815 eur s506

H818P on v20b and no problems here. I've had the phone 5 or 6 months I think

146 views and only 11 votes?
Sample is small now but hopefully will get much bigger

Good poll.

The lack of votes could be due to the poll not showing up for users using apps like Tapatalk. I had to go to the 'Web view' and log into the website in order to vote.
Canada, Bell H812 506, purchased July 2015. no severe issues as of yet (had the missed touches for the first few weeks of ownership but that seems fixed for me since then)

H815 vds 505, 3 months of use...no issues so far. V20d

H815 505x had a sudden death. Connected a working G4 with the charger, next morning it was completly dead.

just got my replacement G4 yesterday.
mine is h818p on v10k, dead after 7 months.

Not sure I understand the 505 / 506. I'm on Verizon VS986.....?

Refers to the first 3 of serial number.
I'm H815 sn 506 and haven't had any hardware problems ( knocking on my head) to date. Got my G4 in August last year.

Seems like all models can be affected so far.
So it's either you get lucky with the g4... Or you die :crying::crying:
I wonder if it's j just a matter of time before it shows up on the nexus 5x and the v10
The g4 has been my best smartphone experience by a huge margin. I've taken thousands of pics since I got mine in August.
The seller I got if from still claims that no one has tried to return any defective models to
This fiasco has given me a bittersweet feeling about being an early adopter of anything in the future. It's the guys who excitedly bought at launch that have the highest risk of failure; and lots of us on this side of the Atlantic bought from grey market sellers as that's the only way to get an unlocked h815 here as far as I know

very interresting poll !
with all threads everywhere about this bootloop problem , i principaly see (at 90 % and more) that 505 serie of h815 (and variants) +all US variants are concerned .
BUT i see somewhere just a member or two who have said that the concerned series of h815 are 505 to 508 (june to september2015) ===>>> this assertion have been repeated many times until now !
....and a member have said that it's near all series.
what's the truth ?
For me ,i have a h815 number 506 and no problem until now .i would want to test customs, kernels,MM rooted.....i have the possibility to unlock my bootloader....but i'm very affraid !!!! and really want to preserve my warranty for that .
that's why this poll is very very important for to know if i take the risk to unlock my devise...

My brother has a g4, we both got them the day they came out. His has the bootloop issue, mine has been fine. So there:what:

[Q] Lenovo K920 Vibe Z2 Pro - European Launch?

Hey guys,
Im looking to buy a new phone and my budget as a student doesnt really allow me to go over 350€.
I have an invitation for the One Plus One but that expires this after noon and im not sure if I should just go for the Opo or wait a couple of days/weeks for the Z2?
My problem is, I prefer the Z2 over the Opo as it has a metal body, 4k screen, 4000mAh battery etc but since I am phoneless right now I cant really wait until say december to get the Z2.
Does anyone have any news on the availability in Europe and the pricing?
Apart from that, any trust worthy chinese resellers which I could potentially get the phone from?
I hope someone can help me!
Thank you!
Lenovo will start selling vibe z2 pro on October 10. in Slovakia for recomended price 459€ in stores, if that helps you. I don't know about other EU countries, but think, will be similar date...
Nice phone, but again, lenovo is very late with fixing bugs, its like one single chinese guy is working to make the software, i had the same problem with k910, bugs bugs bugs......

Suspicious outrageously cheap LG G2 seller, legit?

As the title suggests,
Came across a company called cell-plaza on ebay who are based in Hong Kong selling lots of high end phones, all brand new, for what seems to be very cheap prices.
Details:
Description: NEW LG G2 D801 4G LTE Quad-Core 32GB 13MP Android Mobile Phone- Black (Unlocked)
Price: £141.00
Link: http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/281435055233?_trksid=p2060353.m1438.l2649&ssPageName=STRK:MEBIDX:IT
Has anyone had any experience with this company, or can you spot anything suspicious about them?
I've already made the purchase, hoping for the best.
I've been stung by clones & knock off's before, but I've never seen an LG G2 clone before.
Thanks.
If you read the negative feedbacks on ebay you foud that probably they sent you a refurbished phone and probably without warranty. But the price made the deal..

Hope it works out for you, man. The negative feedback is a bit discouraging, especially the one that says something about changing feedback in order to get refund!
But let us know how it works out for you. I'm thinking at worst (based on feedback) you have a 4 in 5 chance of getting a working phone.
Did it arrive?
Hi, did you receive this phone OK? I'm contemplating buying one myself.
Thanks
alot of negative feedback thats not good... before you flash anything search for refurbished thread and make sure oyu know wich model variant you get by looking on the motherboard otherways youll brick your phone if you wish to flash new rom even root i think..
that is the normal price of a SECOND hand G2 in my country.
gunna be selling my vs980 for 150 on ebay =D

Well, now that I have received my G2 from them, I can share some of my experience. I live in USA and good ATT LTE performance is crucial to me. The company sold the ATT D800 version on ebay as new for about $165 bucks, which I think is a fair price for a previous generation fragship phone sold by a shoddy HK company considering that $200 buys me a brand new ASUS Zenfone 2 or Zenfone 2 Laser here in USA with full warranty and all.
The phone arrived two weeks later in the original cardboard packaging sealed in plastic. The phone case looked brand new, no scratches or any signs of use or abuse. I removed the back cover and looked inside. Inside was the original LG battery produced in 2013 and D800 printed on the case. The printed IMEI number matches what is reported by the software, and corresponds to the ATT D800 model. The phone works fine and has already installed two OTA updates, upgrading KitKat 4.4.2 to Lollipop.
Next, I installed the LTE discovery app to snoop around on which LTE bands my G2 is using. Depending on my location in the neighborhood, the bands were switching between Band 2 and the all-crucial Band 17, which confirms I indeed got the D800 for the ATT LTE network. Finally, I have run Geekbench 3 benchmark app repeatedly and the consistent scores of 900+ and 2500+ (single-core and multi-core) are in line with the benchmarks published in many online reviews of G2.
HOWEVER, the printed manual inside the box, talks about LG-P920 which corresponds to an entirely different LG phone, which does point to some kind of shoddy vendor activity.
Either way, I feel pretty happy having purchased an LG2 that looks like new and works like new for just $165 bucks. For me it's a stopgap phone until the Snapdragon 820 devices arrive. The only thing that disappoints me is having just 32GB of storage. I have a music collection that takes up something like 200GB in lossless format, and even converted to a high bit rate MP3, 32GB is just barely not enough. I wish there was an SD card slot. In retorspect, the SD801-based 64GB Oneplus One that's now sold for only $300 USD may have been a better choice. Also, the LG GUI is ok, but not as nice as the Cyanogen OS on a Oneplus One phone. The LG GUI looks ok, it is something like made by geeks, for other geeks. The poor wallpaper collection and the lack of themes is appalling, but fixable. The phone looks like a keeper to me. I look forward to testing the camera performance and trying Cyanogenmod.
Get yourself a tiny Micro sd card reader by Meenova for 10.00 and a 128GB Samsung Micro SDXC Card (can be found under 40 this week due to cyber Monday Week deals if you google slickdeals.net) and you'll be more than set!
I'm using the Samsung 64GB Pro Micro SDXC Card and its amazing.

Thank you so much for posting this and for following up with your findings.
I have a G3 on order from the same seller and started to worry after reading their negative feedback (also AFTER buying - which I would not normally do!).
I'll also post on here once I receive the LG G3 32gb to confirm that the phone received is the official LG Model or a replica, new or used and whether the phone is working as it should.
Thanks for the SD card suggestion too, I will have a look.
I was just looking at a G3 from them this morning. I'll be curious to hear about your experience.

The G2 is pretty old now despite the capabilities from it. I feel like the price they are selling it for is reasonable
I just purchased a vs980 from eBay for 89.99 and it is in perfect condition. It is refurbished but works like brand new

I got the G3 it is legit LG tested everything and its legit. A couple of things though.
Branded T-Mobile who have been EE for nearly 2 years?
Get alerts from T-Mobile saying 156mb update is ready but it just reboots and stays on 4.4.2.
It keeps on turning off and will come on again once I remove and re-insert the battery.
Currently debating whether to send it back for a refund or root to see if it fixes it!

Well to be honest dont buy this try zuk z1 or z2.This phone has lot of bugs till date.Heating, screen burn etc.Never heard zuk z1 problem as my frnd uses it.Zuk is a good phone.
Thanks bro i will consider this
Xiaomi Redminote 3 Pro , snapdragon processor and lot of custom roms.
Unfortunately, having used the Moto g4 plus for a month, I'll have to agree to the posts above.
And if the frequent bugs wasn't bad enough, the phone has some serious heating and ghost touch issues, with some even reporting screen burn (which is particularly bad considering moto g4 was launched in May, so the screen burn had to happen between then and now).
Plus, if that weren't enough, there's the after sales service and tech support, if only, to add insult to injury. Post - buyout by Lenovo, Motorola mobility's once lauded support has nosedived to being equivalent of squabbling with an eBay seller 'specializing' in cheap knockoffs.
I got no heating issues, no lag, no screen burn in (didn't take the latest update) and consistently 7 hours of screen on time per charge.
I can't believe I almost spent 800 euros on the s7 edge, while the 250 that the g4 cost me give me anything I need and more.
I don't play games. If you play games, don't go for this processor.
Moto (owned by Lenovo) has the worst service centers
If your phone got damaged two days after the purchase, you've to call amazon for return and they will tell you to arrange a dead-on-arrival certificate. When you go to the service center for DOA, they will tell you they can't do that for Amazon. When you tell this to the Amazon they'll tell you they are helpless without DOA. Pure case of cheating.
And also the newer phones coming from Amazon are manufactured in Tamilnadu, India, which has the worst build quality and a yellowish screen.
Both are on my experience. My 3 days old phone is at the service center as the finger print and network stopped working.
Thanks guys for ur reply

Any UK LG V20 users?

Now that Clove has announced they won't be selling the LG V20, can I ask if there are any UK owners? What model works in the UK and where did you buy yours from please? Is it worth me buying the V20, or should I look elsewhere? Thanks for your help!

Here asking the same question but as usual not much support for LG phones at xda.
I'm on EE and Vodafone and 4g is absolutely essential for me but not sure which version is best suited for these networks.
I have the F800K ( Korea Telecom ) version and currently using it on O2 , connects to LTE, I'm quite rural so 4G isn't really that much of an option for me. EE seem to be the best bet for band compatibility according to willmyphonework.net ( using V10 ).
Sourced mine pretty early on direct from S.Korea via eBay, bit of premium cost at the time and they've dropped about £100 since then.
I'm looking to buy the Huawei Mate 9, I think I'll have a better chance getting this phone.

I've just received my LG V20from ebay seller.
I'm currently using EE and have 4G.128sd card no issues reading it without a glitch.
Will test further and have review posted shortly
I got mine from mygsm.me and still waiting for delivery. it is still at DHL hub heathrow
best to buy from EU suppliers I think.

Zenfone 3 zoom white Line issue

Hey everyone so I have my zenfone 3 zoom for almost a week now. then I tried updating to nougat and after a few hours of usage a white line appeared at the bottom of the screen. I don't know what caused the problem but there have been a lot of users also saying that they have the same case. is it really replacing the phone the only way to solve the problem? thanks.
ASUS support on ZenTalk has been making people send their phones. They claim its hardware.
@chardie, out of curiosity, where did you purchase your Zenfone 3 Zoom?
This issue seems to be less frequent in the later releases, with the highest frequency in the Asian and Brasilian markets.
I think it'd be interesting to know if it's still affecting the units in the more recent markets, like the US and the few European countries where it was already released (France, Italy, Portugal, Spain and Germany - some through the ASUS store, others through vendors like Amazon).
It's one of the reasons I'm still not sure if I'll get this one...
I live in Brazil and got my phone in March. After a couple weeks I got the white line on the bottom of the display. Sent to Asus and got a replacement unit. Using for 3 weeks, updated to nougat and no problem at all. Speaking with the support they told me it was a hardware issue with the firsts batches of production and the issue is solved now.

Hi, well I bought it here in the philippines and they replaced the unit. now it's working like a charm. they already released a 2nd production that's why there's no problem anymore. but I guess it' sbetter to get the zenfone 4
I live in Canada. I had this happen to me as well. Phone bought in June 2017, issue occurred in the middle of July. I don't remember if I had done an update just before. I didn't know the problem was common. I contacted ASUS for an RMA and they replaced the screen.
