Stock - Bootloop - MDM does not allow factory reset! - Verizon Galaxy S 5 Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

i have a verizon (G900V) samsung galaxy S5.
it was originally on 5.0
i wanted to root it, so i downgraded it to 4.4.2.
after you downgade from certain software versions, the phone goes in to a boot loop.
so after downgrading i went in to stock recovery to factory reset.
this is where the issuse is:
so i can NOT factory reset the device because it says (at the bottom of the screen:
"MDM does not allow factory reset"
p.s. - i prevously had a verizon (N910V) Samsung Galaxy Note 4 witht he same issue, i was able to fix it
by flashing a modified stock tar that also reset the device.

Factory reset doesn't undo a version downgrade, it only deletes user settings and restores all the pre-installed apps.
You want to use Odin to flash a factory image. Get the image in this thread and follow the rooting instructions: http://forum.xda-developers.com/verizon-galaxy-s5/general/root-method-og5-ok3-t3290370

[Q] Help! Need to factory reset galaxy s4 (att)!

I am trying to sell my galaxy s4 on ebay, I have it rooted with towelroot on android 4.4.2, when I factory reset it goes to screen that "software running on phone not authorized by at&t". When I restart it, phone is same and not reset. Is there a way to factory reset it? Do I need stock recovery? I tried flashing CWM but didn't work because bootloader is locked. So did that mess it up and I need to flash stock recovery? Any help?

CWM does that since you can't use it on NB1. Use the NB1 ODIN files.
Sent from my SGH-I337 running GPE
Used odin and now it's factory reset and unrooted. So it is safe to list it on ebay now?

[Q] Stuck At Boot Animation From Lollipop Downgrade

Ok so I'd like to put AllianceROM on my international version SM-G900F H3G UK model.
To do so, my plan is to downgrade lollipop to 4.4.2 stock, root with TowelRoot, then install the ROM through Mobile Odin Pro (to preserve the KNOX counter). I've just tried to flash 4.4.2 onto the phone, but I cannot get it to start at all after it's flashed. The phone just hangs on the Three (H3G) boot animation.
I'm hoping that I've just got confused with the Sammobile site and that I've just flashed the wrong 4.4.2 firmware (so far tried flashing ANG2 and ANE2). Something I should have checked earlier but I just thought they were updated versions of the same ROM).
If I can't successfully boot into 4.4.2, I'd like to try flashing lollipop to retrieve some files I forgot to backup (another silly mistake). I'm not sure whether I can take files off it through the ADB sideload or whatever but if I have to lose all my data then I'm not too bothered.
What's the best way to go about my situation?
Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Right, thanks man. After flashing lollipop, I can now boot up and back up stuff. I'll flash 4.2.2 again and factory reset.

Soft bricked - Lollipop - SM-N9005

Hello all, Lost my old login details but here goes:
I had a Note 3 on KitKat 4.4 - I updated to lollipop through Kies3 after that I rooted Via kingo.
This is when my soft brick happened. It got stuck on the samsung updating apps screen. I reset and cleared cache using Vol up / Home / Power and tried again.
This time it got stuck on the samsung boot logo, following this I wiped factory data still not fixed the issue.
I am now looking for some more information on how to use Odin and what options I should be using.
I downloaded: Chainfire /352/CF-Root/CF-Auto-Root/CF-Auto-Root-hlte-hltexx-smn9005.zip
Now what options should I be selecting Auto-Reboot & F.Reset Time are selected.
Am I loading the file above into the BL section of ODIN3? or the CP section?
**EDIT**
Solved - I thought the root had reverted me for some reason, used Lollipop firmware and I got my phone running again. Just used Odin + Lollipop BTU firmware and it booted up after the initial wait for the 1st load.

Phone Stuck On Splashscreen

My phone is a verizon gs5 SM-G900V and I tried to root it but something (I honestly have no idea) went wrong and now it is stuck on the splash screen. I have tried everything i thought of, doing a factory reset, clearing the cache partition, I tried reinstalling the stock rom using odin but of course because there was no root and the bootloader is locked, I can't reinstall. I tried applying updates using SD no dice. I am able to access the bootloader and the and the android recovery menu if that will help at all. I don't know every acronym/term because i'm still fairly new to these terms so any help will be greatly appreciated.
I'm guessing you are on lollipop because you say you can't downgrade to KitKat aka stock
so what you should do is go to Sammobile and download either lollipop official firmware bok3 or Pb1.
then install via odin in either ap or pda slot
with the phone in download mode after that wait for the Phone to boot then set it up
then use ok3 root method by Jr Kruse on xda it's a sticky in the s5 verizon forum to get root

S5 Extreme Lag.. even in the recovery menu

So i've done something to screw up my S5 (G900W8). I believe it has to do with restoring a samsung "smart switch" s7 backup to this s5. Anyways..
It has extreme lag even after flashing stock firmware via odin and doing factory reset. Can still access recovery, download mode and boot the phone but everything is extremely slow.
What is the next step?
Any way to go deeper than flashing new firmware? Do I need to flash a new bootloader?
