Installed TWRP via flashify and fastboot but not loading? - Xiaomi Redmi 2 Questions & Answers

Have latest redmi 2 with miui 7.
Days installed OK but doesn't load.
Vol up +power or reboot into TWRP.
Just shows mi.com logo then restarts as normal. Can flash stock recovery back OK, but just can't get others to work?

It is officially blocked by miui as of latest versions.

Yes the boot loader is locked by Xiaomi in latest release. to confirm it though. In developer options check for some thing like 'enable oem unlock' . It should be above Usb debbugging option.

Can't see that option unfortunately. Hopefully someone figures it out

Back to official REC after flash TWRP 3.1.1 on RedMI 3S with MIUI 9.7.11.23 DEV

Dear Community,
I tried to flash TWRP 3.1.1 for Oreo rom with my Red Mi 3S. And I found some thing strange.
3S is flashed to MIUI 9.7.11.23 DEV. And BL is unlocked via XiaoMi's MiFlash_Unlock.
In Developer settings, OEM unlock is ON, and Lock status is unlocked.
Then I tried fastboot on my Mac to flash TWRP 3.1.1 in the Xperience Oreo ROM thread.
In the console after "fastboot flash recovery TWRP-3.1.1-0-unnoficial-oreo-v2-land.img", result showed OKAY. However, after a reboot, holding Volume+ and Power or "adb reboot recovery" will bring me to XiaoMi Recovery instead of TWRP.
I tried "fastboot boot TWRP-3.1.1-0-unnoficial-oreo-v2-land.img", and it works fine.
Anyone could help me to figure out why flash TWRP could not be done successfully?
Thanks much.

Have you tried rebooting the phone in recovery via the key combination( press all 3 buttons power+ vol up+ vol down and when you get vibration release power button and vol down but not vol up because i have faced similar issues while pressing vol up and power ) as far as i know after flashing a custom recovery you need to give the command " fastboot boot recovery.img" where recovery should be replaced by the file name of your recovery and adb reboot recovery is not working may be due to some other reasons but dont worry flash the twrp recovery via fastboot and then reboot using the above command

In this case, I think it means flash not successful right? using command fastboot boot twrp.img means only boot this time ...

Hello,
if i'm correct you are still on android 6.x/emui 4.x.
You used SRKTool so why haven't used that tool to flash recovery too ?
It's included in the tool.
You need 3.0.2-0 for your android version.
If you want to flash it with fastboot, when finished
disconnect from pc and manually reboot recovery holding vol+ and power buttons.
Cheers

Aah ok android 7, so the TWRP 3.1.1-1 is fine ...
Maybe you should have tried with

Android 6 > TWRP 3.0.2-0
Android 7 > TWRP 3.1.1-1
Ensure you have drivers installed in your pc.
Ensure you have OEM unlock and DEBUG USB enabled in developer option.
With fastboot: >>> fastboot flash recovery (name of recovery).img (ensure you put the recovery inside the fastboot folder)
>>> fastboot reboot recovery or shoutdown and reboot holding vol+ and power buttons (until it boots in TWRP).
Done.
Cheers
Thanks. I managed to get it working more przez less. Now i have two recoveries . One accessible while holding vol+ during power up and stock recovery when i press vol+ for 3s on "your device is unlocked and therefore it should not be trusted" screen.

Bootloop at reboot when i try to root on android pie

Hi, i'm trying to root my Xiaomi Mi A1 after updating it by OTA and I always get a bootloop on the android one screen.
I explain a little what I did, I had xposed and root on 8.1 with magisk, uninstalled them correctly, and then update to android 9.
Now, with the version 10.0.5.0.PDHMIXM of february, I tried to patch the boot.img from Magisk and then load it both from fastboot, as well as load trough the recovery of twrp, but the same result always happens, when reboot it stays in bootloop and I have I put back the stock boot.img unouching.
Also, in the status of the safety net looked at magisk I get ctsProfile: false, I do not know if it will have something to do
Can someone please help me root the phone?
Need some help, please
Hello.
Let's go.
If it's bootlooped do the next:
1. Download official latest ROM from this Mi site https://en.miui.com/download-333.html by clicking on green tab. After downloading finished, must twice extraxt it till have some yellow folder.
Download and install MFT from this link http://api.bbs.miui.com/url/MiFlash
2. Press&Hold Vol- button till phone goes to bootloader FASTBOOT mode
3. In opened "cmd/adb" on Your PC type "fastboot devices" to verify your phone
4. Check for bootloader is unlocked with "fastboot oem unlock". If it's unlocked You'll get a message "Your b/l is allredy unlocked", if not, Your phone will reboot and must quickly press&hold Vol- button to boot again in to FASTBOOT mode
5. When phone is connected in f/b mode type "fastboot oem edl" and wait Your phone reboot to EDL mode (black screen on display wit LED rapidly blinking)
6. Start Mi Flash Tool and do Refresh button to connect with the phone, click "select" button to navigate to the ROM folder from point 1. and check "save user data" on the bottom right (or check "clean all", as You wish)
7. After all, click "flash" button and be patient for a couple of a minutes when phone flashing. After a good yob you'll get a green colored message "success" to the right side of a MFT window.
8. That's it. Long press Power button on phone and wait till vibrate. Release it and boot to system. Let it update to February update and then do the steps from post "[GUIDE] Rooting Mi A1 without TWRP"
Enjoy!
P.S. Your BootLoader remains unlocked with options selected from point 6. but apps and system will be wiped out! Selecting on own risk!

My friend, do this to repair Bata cellphone, ... 1. enter fastboot mode and unlock oem and do twrp.img boot 2. after you enter twrp, install TWRP installer and install ROM via twrp (android version 5 rom 9, the official version is 4 which can be flashed via miflash tools). Then reboot the system and enjoy ... if you want to root do install magisk via twrp recovery ... give your answer after trying this. Very happy to help later.

Stuck in Fastboot

Hi all!
I have tryed to flash Android Q on my Redmi Note 7 (Global) everything seemed to go smooth till i rebooted and the deviced got stuck in fastboot mode, i tryed to flash TWRP, it goes OKAY but if i reboot i cant access recovery anyway.
I also tryed to use "fastboot boot recovery.img", it does send the image but fails to boot into recovery saying "failed to load/authenticate boot image..."
Am i doing something wrong? How can i solve this?
I thought of MiFlash Tool, but there are many version and some seems not to work properly can anyone provide a working link?
(Ofc, my bootloader is unlocked etc)
Thanks a lot
After you flash TWRP you can't access via command, because MIUI will re-write the recovery again once you restart, first flash the TWRP (fastboot flash recovery the-name-of-the-file.img) after that you must reboot to recovery manually by holding together "Volume Up + Power" until you see the MI logo, release "Power" button but keep pressing "Volume Up" until you see the recovery, after you are in TWRP, (mount the internal storage (Data) or if you already copied OrangeFox Recovery Zip to device) then just flash OrangeFox R10_2, it will reboot itself after that to the recovery again and that's all, you will have a custom recovery ready.
Now, if you already tried to flash the ROM and everything went wrong, I guess your device is bricked, now you need a FASTBOOT ROM for your device (if it's complete global = PFGMIXM / because there's global europe too, that's PFGEUXM) and the MiFlashTool, unzip the Fastboot ROM, open the MiFlashTool, load the ROM Folder in the tool while the phone is connected to the PC, and then just flash it, steps with images are in Xiaomi site, here's the link Fasboot Method
ps: the tool have below one option to flash and re-lock the bootloader, it will be selected by default, leave it like that if you want to re-lock it, or change it to clean all to leave it unlock it

Possible to get on Stock OOS11 with Root?

I just bought a carrier unlocked T-Mobile 7t pro McLaren 5g on ebay and I've spent several hours reading up on the unlocking and rooting processes for this phone.
I can't seem to figure out if it's possible to get it up and running on the stock OOS11 rom with root (and hopefully TWRP), and if so, what the entire process will be.
I've had my OnePlus 6 for several years now and have had it unlocked/rooted since I got it, so I'm fairly familiar with these sorts of things, just not on this phone specifically. Thanks
This is exactly what happened to me. I just bought unlocked T-Mobile 7t pro McLaren 5g. Coming from 6T McLaren (had 1,2,3,5 and as mentioned 6T McL). I had them all rooted and all other phones that I used before these. But reading around here I feel like I never rooted phone in my life. So much confusing information and also outdated. Not one proper post step by step how to do it. Unlocking tokens? OTA not working etc. Honestly I don't know where to start. lol
Yes, what do you need help with?
Just finished unlocking Bootloader and made steps.
Going to do root and twrp. But first I want to extract my current boot image, as I am at latest update 11.0.1.6.HD61CB

Enable USB Debugging and OEM Unlocking
On your phone go to Settings > About phone > Tap on Build number 7 times. This will enable Developer options. Now go back to Settings > System > Developer options > Enable USB debugging and OEM Unlocking. I also enable Advanced reboot.
Fastboot mode and Unlocking Bootloader
Turn the phone off. Then boot it into fastboot mode by holding volume up + and down - and power or select reboot to bootloader if advanced reboot is activated via developer options. The phone will display "fastboot" text indicating that it has successfully entered fastboot mode.
Plug the phone into your PC, then open a command prompt window on the desktop (Shift + Right Click -> Open Command Window here) and type:
fastboot devices
This command will list the connected devices. If your phones serial number shows up you are good to go and may continue. If the phone is NOT listed this indicates that your drivers are not installed correctly. In order for you to continue you must fix your drivers so that your phone is listed under fastboot devices.
If the phone has been recognized by the command above, proceed to unlocking the bootloader with the following command:
Remember this Step will WIPE EVERYTHING off the phone so Backup all your Data
type:
fastboot oem unlock
You would be greeted with a Unlock Bootloader Warning page, Hit the Vol button to select Yes and turn it Blue and Hit the Power Button to Execute the selection
Your device will reboot, show you a Secure boot warning, reboot into stock recovery and wipe all data. Once done, your phone will reboot into the OS (It will take some time to get boot – just leave it to do its thing).
Congratulations you've now successfully unlocked bootloader!
Flashing TWRP Recovery and Magisk root

fastboot flash recovery twrp-3.6.0_11-0-hotdog.img
Do not reboot to OS
Boot into TWRP Recovery
Now in TWRP, tap on Install and browse to the TWRP.zip and install it. TWRP will now be installed to both slots. TWRP is now installed. Reboot into TWRP Recovery.
Now in TWRP, tap on Install and browse to the Magisk-23.0(23000).apk and install it. Reboot to system.
Congratulations you've now successfully rooted your phone!

I am trying to find if anyone managed to convert McLaren 5G from T-mobile to International version?
Cannot make VoLTE and Wifi Calling work. It seems it doesn't work on T-mobile version with some of other carriers.
