So I am running the DL09 with superclean 0.4. My issues are with kernals. I installed stupidfast 1.54 from rom manager that is a stable kernal. The kernal worked great, but got rid of my boot animation. I installed others, and none worked. So I am guessing that kernal doesn't allow for boot animations? At that point, I had 69% battery left.
So I download and install the stupidfast test kernal that is low voltage and not overclocked. Boot animation worked right after the reboot. Then my battery reads 24% left.
My question is, why is there such a different in battery life? Is one not representing accurately? I like these kernals because they don't distort my audio. I have installed others through the forums that distort it and make it pop. I have also read to install setcpu and change the processing speed to eliminate the popping problem. Personally, I don't want to use setcpu when a kernal can take care of the problem.
So, what kernal would be best or do they react differently with different phones?
Thanks for all the help!
False battery reading? I had issues with stupid fast kernels as well. Lost root and boot animation switched to other voodoo over 1300mhz no issues at all.
The development forum section is not for questions. It is for active development of code and other development processes. This thread does NOT fall under that category, as such it has been moved to the proper section, the "General" Section.
Thank you.
Hey all,
Because of the enormous size of the team tiamat thread, I'm posting here. Please move if I am in the wrong place.
well just updated, I always wipe before install, just put the fix for the 1.1 battery mod. But ever since I flashed tiamat, the xoom keeps rebooting. Can anyone shed light on the situation?
Thanx

Do you have wifi set to go to sleep? Thats the most common reason.
Q&A for [Kernel][4.4] M-Kernel - a69 [WiFi/3G] [f2fs/ext4] [6/23]
Some developers prefer that questions remain separate from their main development thread to help keep things organized. This kernel is for the 2012 Nexus 7 (grouper). The 2013 Nexus 7 (flo) is a different device and has it's own dedicated forum, make sure you are going there to kind a compatible kernel for your device. http://forum.xda-developers.com/nexus-7-2013
Hello running latest purity on f2fs and running m kernel, any suggestion on undervolting the GPU and CPU?
Sent from my nexus 7 using XDA Premium 4 mobile app
Hopefully you will enable the sio scheduler as opposed to excluding it entirely. It may not have extreme read or write speeds, as it's more balanced, but it has the lowest latency due to its tiny overhead.
Great kernel nonetheless, managed 5-7 hours of SoT (7 if in continuous use) after undervolting it, and running it at 1.4ghz. Hopefully the LP build will be even better. It runs super smooth at 1.2ghz, can't wait to be able to undervolt it and get even more SoT, because right now, LP gives me the same SoT as PA 4.6 plus M-Kernel.
With kernel tweaker, stock rom 5.0 and a72 it is all ok
I'm running stock rom with all f2fs and a72, it's run smooth but I must press power button more than once to wake up from sleep...
Touch2wake
Running stock 5.0.2 with f2fs data partition only and loving it. Seems to have the issues fixed that made 5.0 uber-laggy. DEFINITELY recommend updating to any debating it (although this is only day one, so I'll respond again after long term testing). Was wondering tho about Touch2wake. Really liked it when I had kit-kat installed and was wondering if it'd be possible to have it brought back, even as a setting that is off by default but can be turned on via some setting. Thanks for the hard work!
does kernel have a problem with overflow of wakelocks "baseband_xmm_power" ?
m-kernel
i got a question on my nexus 7 3g 2012 5.0.2
i have install the latest m kernel but my device only run one core and the cpu cap at 1500
have anyone have this problm and solution
sorry for my poor english
planing s2w /dt2w?
Will there be s2w (sweep2wake) on Lollipop kernel? Asking for it is my only reason not switching to Lollipop. Power drain is not an issue for me, as i can charge device every night no problem. (I have made Tasker scripts shortcuts (following suggestings there http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2232732) to easy change wake timeout if i need battery).
Bootloop too.
CM12 + a74 + f2fs(data/cache)
Can I flash a73 on 4.4 all2fs rom via TWRP 2.8.5?
Android 5.1
With the recent update to android 5.1 I understand you have a version running on 5.0, but will a new update be coming out?
@Metoo18
Exactly the same here, CM12 with data and cache F2FS. Flashing a74 causes freeze on Google logo.
Hmm, maybe we have to change also system partition to F2FS? I tried to flash Phantom Kernel r2 for LP but I also got bootloop :/
a69 problem
i can't install a68 and a69 on kitkat but i can install correctly a67; maybe zips are corrupt, qhere i can find an a69 zip correct?
It's most likely the battery connector, it has happened to me not once, but TWICE. Two times I have had to open my Nexus 7 to push the connector into the header (there was only some slight contact).
Recently I have filled the gap and thus the battery connector will never unplug itself.

try TWRP 2.8.3. Higher does not flash a69 for me.
Loadable modules support
Could someone recompile a74 version with loadable modules support (CONFIG_MODULES=y) ?
I tried compiling it by myself but mine zImage is about 700kb smaller and after flashing i got into bootloop.
bootloop
getting into bootloop after optimizing apps...im on chroma :/
Hi All,
I've managed to get Lollipop running on Nexus 7 (2012) Wi-Fi. I rooted my Nexus using the Toolkit, and have flashed latest TWRP.
Post Lollipop install I have also cleared the Cache ( as recommended) and the tablet does appear a little better in terms of lag.
But, I've read a lot of posts that this Nexus can be Overclocked. I'm not looking at some insane OC but I'm looking for a decent OC that won't kill battery, etc.
So, a few questions:
1. I've read about ElementalX kernel but just want to confirm that I can flash it through TWRP, without issues.
2. What's a good OC that I can aim for (1.6Ghz/2.0Ghz?)? I'm looking for a decent boost in performance without killing battery.
Looking for some advice before I take the plunge.
Edit: Just realised that I've raised this thread in the wrong Nexus 7 area. Could I please request a MOD to move this to the Nexus 7 2012 area?
Anybody?
1. How else would you flash the kernel?
2. Ask in the thread dedicated to the kernel in question?
Running ElementalX at 1728Mhz without issue on 5.0. As suggested, check the kernel thread for any specific questions about it.

Hey thanks for getting back. I'm assuming that you're using ElementalX on Nexus 2012 and not 2013?
OP, if you need to move the thread, report the thread's first post and request it to be moved. I think it's already been done this time, we're just awaiting a mod to move it.
Moved to correct board (sorry, holidays are always a bit rough on us staff, but we are getting to it all, we promise!!!)
