to the experts , is my phone unlocked ? - Galaxy S 5 Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

hii evrybody,
first i can't contact the seller because i buy it from my freind who bought it from another country ... he is a reliable seller and he always buy from him
well the phone was amazing smooth , great camera and all , just like any other galaxy S5
but one time i put my IMEI number into ( imei.info ) and boom the web cite says that this imei is for a Note 4
i cheaked the imei with *#06# and it's the same on the back of the phone
another freind say to me dial *#1234# and if the last 3 numbers from each line are the same that mean that the software isn't edited and it's official
well this is the result ....

If it says G900P in download mode, that's the model you have

well , then why it says that this is g900F on device info
and will i loose sim unlock if i flash it
+
i just notice that i can't find wifi hotspot on settings like any other s5

Have a read through the forums, there are a good few others with the same thing, G900F on device info, the box, the sticker under the battery etc, but in download mode it says a different model, and that is the correct model

Samsung ATIV S can't detect any sim

HI guys,
I bought an ATIV S in Malaysia running on stock rom and not bound to any carrier. Changed the CSC to ATO and updated to GDR3. Used the phone for few days and then sent it to my brother in another country with a different time zone. When he tired to put his sim the phone can't detect it.....sim card missing. He tried multiple sims but all not detected.
I am confused as what could be the reason since it was working fine in Malaysia. What shall i do ?

First of all, this is the Developement & Hacking section. This question belongs to the Q & A forum, where it will be answered. Please only post relevant threds in Developement & Hacking.
To answer your question:
Has he tried a hardreset? Maybe this is a bug related to the change of the CSC.
Are you sure that the phone was not damaged in any way while sending it to your brother? Let him take a look at the SIM-tray and see if a pin is missing, broken or whatever. This happened to a friend's phone just recently.
If nothing works, try to flash another ROM. If this doesn't fix your issue, it is most probably a hardware defect.
Sorry for posting in wrong section, guess i was in a hurry n didnt realize dat. Btw d problem has been identified n it turns out dat d sims from local carriers r different n d chip does not really come in contact with d pins due to different dimensions. In pic top 1 doesnt work while bottom one works.

[Q] Wifi not turning on, contradicting model number

I recently got a GS4 from China and noticed the WiFi was not turning on... it is going though the notion with "turning on..." displayed on screen and not doing anything else.
After reading around on the internet I saw it maybe a firmware issue. So after doing some research I decide flashing it maybe the best solution to the the problem. After spending like a couple of hours ensuring I got the correct version of the firmware I got everything ready but when I put it in download mode I realized I maybe the wrong one.

Sticker under battery says its the I9500...
In download mode I notice that is said that the model of the phone was SGH-I337 the AT&T I9505. Which confused me and made me want to check which firmware to get. The 3rd image doesn't really make sense based on what I have read along with fact that the first image calls the phone the i9500 but the 5th image shows the i9505 qualcomm processor. Also on the 1st image what is "jflteatt" under the device type?
I'm not sure what to do now, any help would be most appreciated.
Sorry to tell you this but you bought an S4 Clone.
From your screenshots its obvious its a clone.
I have an i9500 and the Phone Info screen you uploaded does not exist on my phone.
Sorry again.

Kies recognizes it... I wouldn't have expected it to load up in kies if it was a clone.

- Wipe all and flash android 4.3 TGY-I9500ZSUCMK3 through ODIN -> HERE
or if give ya error
- Wipe all and flash android 4.4.2 TGY-I9500ZSUDNB3 through ODIN-> HERE

How bout you dont jump to conclusions too bud!
I have a mate who bought an "S4" from China, paid $130, and it looked the same but when we compared it against my i9500 it was littered with errors in the device info. The fake also only got EDGE and couldn't pick up 3G or HSPA.
In me saying the OP has probably got a fake I was not trying to belittle him but just make him aware.
Look nicely at the pics, the product is shown as "jflteatt" but its supposed to be a i9500...
jflteatt = the AT&T i9505 not an i9500
"Sticker under the battery says i9500" but device info says jflteatt. I seriously doubt Samsung would have let something like that slip through their Quality Control.
Maybe the OP can post us a pic of his about screen and not some phone info shots from an app available on the Google store.
That would end the debate.
@op sorry for derailing your thread. Have you tried getting into Download mode or Recovery Mode? My mates fake had a chinese recovery.

Need to determine if software has changed, or if anything has been done to the device,
brand new?
Refurb?
Used?
Stock OS?
so many reasons..
For now, I wouldn't JTAG or try anything until you've established why it is different.
Well the sell-man did write good imei on warranty card and wrong on bill xD It used latest xeo firmware.
I get new clean warranty card so i cant know about history of that phone :/
At kies It said xxx firmware.

It's possible the retailer has refurbished it (replaced motherboard), if he has gave you a new warranty and it works, I wouldn't worry too much about it.
Or you could just ask for you money back and go get one directly from Samsung

Can you post all screenshots from Phone INFO ★Samsung★ app?
And also go to the Menu > 'Refurbishment Check' and show the result?

The check result does say. Your phone has missing some important hardware info. And also your phone doesn't have "Headset Connect counter" in the USAGE HISTORY section.
What i Should do than?

Return to shop and request a refund if possible. Otherwise use it as it is, no problem.
Ok thanks, i understand that i cant use samsung warranty service with this device right? Just the shop where i buy?

Change Product Code

Is there a simple way that you can change the product code
My Product Code is SM-N910CZKEMTZ
which must be how kies still picks up the csc as being MTZ
the phone was a grey import from MTN Zambia
it doesnt actually do anything but i would like to change it if its simple enough

...then you need to change your device.
Different product code means different hardware configuration... In your case 910F means snapdragon cpu! 910C means Exynos CPU! Also others components like gpu, camera etc.. may be different due to the different platforms.
So, if you change in some way your product ID on your device and flash a different ROM then you wil have your device bricked and unusable.
If you only want to change the CSC part from your product code, then better read the link above... at the end you will have your CSC changed on your product code!
my efs is BTU and so is my csc
ther's nothing there that i didnt already know or had done
hence did you even look at my image?
I wouldn't change the product code of your device if I were you. As it's not gonna affect how your device performs anyway. Plus if you ever have any problems with your device in the future and have to send it back to the retailer for repairs. They may not repair seeing as you have effective hacked your device to begin with and void your warranty.
Retailer was ebay..
and its knox void
its also an import from zambia to the uk
so samsung wont fix anything
Best part is the sticker under the battery Samsung UK
the things u have to do for an exynos note 4
Cant really grumble i paid £252 for it brand new sealed

In back of the glass s8 said it's SM-G950U Model but in about phone it's SM-G9500?

I've been worry because it's already june but I still didn't get the Oreo update so i take a look at my phone and fininds something's off. fyi i bought this phone a secondhand.
so in the back of the phone it says my phone model is sm-g950u but on about phone it says Sm-G9500, and my samsung pay is in hongkong language. so on my understanding my hardware is US but my software is chinese?
anything i can do to make my phone oreo? should i flash it? if yes then should i use the g950u or g9500?
your phone's imei from settings, is the same with one on the back ? use "Phone Info" apk, to see what hardware you have. and from there you should know what firmware to flash

that's very odd. you could try flashin a 950u firmware from sammobile to see if it works.. if you have a little experience with google and odin, this should be easy.. the only way to know for sure, is to try flashing both of the versions. I suggest you should start with 950u
