With some Samsung handsets (like the Galaxy Grand Prime) you can key in from the telephone keypad "*#2263#" which brings you to a band selection ServiceMode.
This ServiceMode lets you "force" the phone to lock onto particular mode and frequency.
Where I live AT&T has Band 2, 4, & 17. I get all bands in my home but for some reason my phone only wants to park on Band 14 and regularly only connect to Band 2 (for about 5 min like every hour), I want to connect to Band 2 due to it being 15x15mhz with CA, So I get 50mbps download, while Band 14 is very congested, I only get like 2mbps download.
Does anyone know how I can access the hidden band selection service menu, or how I can disable other Bands?
I'm rotted BTW, thanks.

I've put it in diag mode using boot menu but it doesn't seem to have any effect...
I got myself into a bit of trouble trying out the band selection menu in the 4636 test mode. There are 3 options in that menu, USA band, cellular, PCS. Itapped one of them and now I can't make or receive calls no matter which option I set it to. Reboot didn't help. I clean wiped and reflashed truepure 2.5, it didn't help either. The test mode says my phone is connected to 4g and correctly shows my carrier.
Now, is there another setting that I can change to get it working again? Maybe return to stock rom can fix this? Please somebody help me out.
You need to flash the modem again.
I don't know any other solution.

Thanks for your advice. I just tried flashing ota modem, both by flashing with twrp and fastboot. It did not work. Fortunately I found a twrp backup I did when I first purchased the phone and got voice back. Remember to backup everyone, it might save your hours of work... and possibly money to get a new phone...

Hi
I upgraded to HC 3.2 and my wifi was great for the first 2 weeks or so.
Lately however, it seems to be stuck (quite often "obtaining IP address")
It can take 10 minutes or so b4 it connects.
What I want to know, Can I run the wifi fix on the Acer site on my 3.2version of
HC
thanks.............
I'm curio-us about this as well. My wifi isn't horrible but it does seem to be flaky. Like it will be at full bars one second and half the next without moving it.
so, you´ve tried it yet?
I´m have the same problem here.
No I haven't tried it. Not sure what it does yet. I would think it would be a firmware update for the wifi card, but I don't know.
---------- Post added at 03:44 PM ---------- Previous post was at 03:29 PM ----------
I just went and tried it. Kind of a shot in the dark thing, but it doesn't seem to have any negative effects so far. According to the instructions you install it through recovery as an update.zip (included in the download). Then when you boot back into the OS turn off and turn back on the wifi. I did it and so far so good. I haven't noticed anything yet.

It's an apk packed in there, but it installs like an update.zip. I believe there's a firmware file that's flashed during the update process.

Just a quick update. My wifi strength hasn't really improved any but it does appear more consistent (i.e. sitting in one spot the signal doesn't appear to fluctuate anymore).
Its been some time since I was in the Play community! Decided to get a new play for old times sake!
I was wondering if someone could point me in the right direction to get my fastboot enabled I had someone who done it before, HOWEVER I have lost contact with him
well best way is using ominus as i know but it will cost some money
in free ways you can unlock bootloader but not the fastboot (you have to convert kernels to ftf files then flash them in flashmode using flashtool)
thats all i know
also as i know this man has the ability to enable the fastboot (i think he is the ominus dev or something like that )

also you can ask alejandrissimo about this in his site or xda
i think he will give you good price for enabling fastboot

Hey guys,
I am new to the LG ecosystem of Android as I only am familiar with Samsung devices. Any who, this didn't stop me from helping my friend, Ahmed, to flash a stock firmware on his LG F230S G2. I am very frustrated by the fact that there is no as such simple or straight forward guide present on doing so.
Any ways, I found this guide (http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2432476) while looking through XDA. And believe me, I have tried it all to make it work! Nothing seems to budge.
Simple problem and question: All is setup. Everything has gone to plan. KDZ file has been selected. Right about when the computer shows 47% completion, the phone hangs on 49% completed. After a while, "ERROR" pops up. Now all I want to know is what seems to be the cause and can someone direct me to a proper guide/method on manually flashing LG firmware?
Thanks for reading and if you have something in mind, please post below! Need more details? Ask and I'll try to provide!
I had the same problem when it hangs at 47 % or 49 % it took me ages to find out to get past this issue . I will help you my friend just give me two mins to turn PC on and give you a way to basically force flash the Kzd file

Super Thanks for responding! Will try your solutions and report back!
Not sure how to explain this, other than to post a picture. This is a 910f on 4.4, and I've tried hardware and agb to get it into download mode to flash root with Odin. See picture.
Any help is much appreciated.
Are you sure, that is genuine note 4

I installed the Oreo rom from https://www.xda-developers.com/samsung-galaxy-note8-android-oreo-update.
So far so good however the assisted dialing settings are in effect and keep modifying my numbers when I dial them,
so I went on the phone settings to disable it (or change the country since I'm not in the US and the phone came from the US)
but the settings are grayed out and I can't change them!
Any ideas? (screenshot attached)
I have the same problem
Hello, I have the exact same problem, but mine came out when I restored the phone to factory settings. Now I can't turn off assisted dialling. You find out how to fix yours.??

The solution was to install the unbranded international ROM, now the phone is perfect!

I have a solution.
You just need a Verizon (or just your native phone's carrier) sim card. Put it in, restart - voila! Settings are active. Change it to yours. Put your new sim card, restart and be happy!

That is not a solution. You can easily install EXDialer or any other dialer from Play Market and it will work like a charm. Or you can go with my solution above.

Just because you like to install carrier branded ROMs and third party dialers doesn't change the fact that a fresh unbranded ROM also takes care of the Verizon dial assistance crap,
plus really, install another app just to dial??? Posting your solution is absolutely fine, just let people decided for themselves.

If this is your first time then you really have to be careful, I knew what ROM to download for my phone and happened to finnd one that was
not carrier branded, in other words, clean android experience with no carrier tweaks, like the dialing assistance, if you are not confident
enough don't do it.

this is the solution

You don't need to root the phone or anything!
