Hi
I upgraded to HC 3.2 and my wifi was great for the first 2 weeks or so.
Lately however, it seems to be stuck (quite often "obtaining IP address")
It can take 10 minutes or so b4 it connects.
What I want to know, Can I run the wifi fix on the Acer site on my 3.2version of
HC
thanks.............
I'm curio-us about this as well. My wifi isn't horrible but it does seem to be flaky. Like it will be at full bars one second and half the next without moving it.
so, you´ve tried it yet?
I´m have the same problem here.
No I haven't tried it. Not sure what it does yet. I would think it would be a firmware update for the wifi card, but I don't know.

I just went and tried it. Kind of a shot in the dark thing, but it doesn't seem to have any negative effects so far. According to the instructions you install it through recovery as an update.zip (included in the download). Then when you boot back into the OS turn off and turn back on the wifi. I did it and so far so good. I haven't noticed anything yet.

It's an apk packed in there, but it installs like an update.zip. I believe there's a firmware file that's flashed during the update process.

Just a quick update. My wifi strength hasn't really improved any but it does appear more consistent (i.e. sitting in one spot the signal doesn't appear to fluctuate anymore).

Hi,
one of the fastest roms for hour HD2 is " Android GBLeoR4.5".
Thanks to:
XxX Pa cha XxX
Everything is working in this rom except Wi-Fi tethering. A well known issue with most of the roms.
I needed this to connect my Acer a500 tablet (not rooted) to my phone. Ad-hoc is not possible to connect.
1* search in Google for " android wifi tethering app " I can't post links
2*install android Wi-Fi tethering
3*open settings
*device profile: Google nexus one
*setup method: Softap
*channel: auto
*Wi-Fi driver reload:check
*Routing fix: check
For the least problems, before starting tethering, "Wi-Fi" on and "data" on.
If you don't,there is a possibility that you are connected to your phone, but you phone isn't connect to the internet.
For me this is working almost perfect. Stable and fast connection.
I hope this is working for a lot of people.
Let me know
P's. Don't hassitate to "pm" me.
I searched on Google like you said and the only apps I can find are the ones that do ad-hoc can you please message me a link to the correct one?
Thanks

I just tried it with the Energy Rom and although my computer was able to connect to the WiFi network the phone was transmitting, I did not have any internet access. Any ideas on what I can do to make it so it will work? My phone gets internet on its own just fine.
thanks,

I forgot to make the changes specified in the OP I did it and now I have internet access. Thanks a million I couldn't even get barnacle to work for my phone.
A mighty thanks
noted and thanks!
i need 10 posts so I can post this in other rom threads.... many people want this.
it works! thanks!
Update one confirmed the below stated phone issue is fixed now just looking for some more testers using chupachups ROM. I have 1 tester and would like to have a couple more just for confirmation that it's the same with everyone. As this is the only ROM I've had an issue with and I'd really like to get it resolved so you guys can share in the goodness if this mod as i can not test it myself because chuoachups doesn't make a ROM for the Verizon variant. See there were some differences in the one file on chupachups ROM then all the other thermal files I've looked at and I had one report that they lost phone capabilities after flashing thermalmod75rc4 so I copied the lines of code that were missing from chupachups originals and inserted them into the new mod so here's the link to the chuoachups thermal mod 75°
https://www.androidfilehost.com/?fid=24052804347761304
Please let me know if all works well and the ability to make and receive calls is restored
Also here is the link to the original thread
http://forum.xda-developers.com/lg-g3/development/thermal-mod-t2907363
You can read what the person had to say about the issue on the last few pages of the thread if you're interested
INSTRUCTIONS backup the original thermal files and thermald files if you have them to a safe place then flash mod and wipe caches and if by some chance you do lose phone all you have to do is delete the 4 new files and and paste your originals back in reboot and you'll be good to go
All the files are located in system/etc
All your feedback is greatly appreciated as I'd like to get this mod working well with chupachups ROM
Thanks for the help Rob

Awesome to hear for some reason that rom has some extra code in it hopefully it performs well to
Please keep me updated
Thanks for the feedback Rob
With some Samsung handsets (like the Galaxy Grand Prime) you can key in from the telephone keypad "*#2263#" which brings you to a band selection ServiceMode.
This ServiceMode lets you "force" the phone to lock onto particular mode and frequency.
Where I live AT&T has Band 2, 4, & 17. I get all bands in my home but for some reason my phone only wants to park on Band 14 and regularly only connect to Band 2 (for about 5 min like every hour), I want to connect to Band 2 due to it being 15x15mhz with CA, So I get 50mbps download, while Band 14 is very congested, I only get like 2mbps download.
Does anyone know how I can access the hidden band selection service menu, or how I can disable other Bands?
I'm rotted BTW, thanks.

I've put it in diag mode using boot menu but it doesn't seem to have any effect...
I got myself into a bit of trouble trying out the band selection menu in the 4636 test mode. There are 3 options in that menu, USA band, cellular, PCS. Itapped one of them and now I can't make or receive calls no matter which option I set it to. Reboot didn't help. I clean wiped and reflashed truepure 2.5, it didn't help either. The test mode says my phone is connected to 4g and correctly shows my carrier.
Now, is there another setting that I can change to get it working again? Maybe return to stock rom can fix this? Please somebody help me out.
You need to flash the modem again.
I don't know any other solution.

Thanks for your advice. I just tried flashing ota modem, both by flashing with twrp and fastboot. It did not work. Fortunately I found a twrp backup I did when I first purchased the phone and got voice back. Remember to backup everyone, it might save your hours of work... and possibly money to get a new phone...

Damn restricted device.....
I installed the Oreo rom from https://www.xda-developers.com/samsung-galaxy-note8-android-oreo-update.
So far so good however the assisted dialing settings are in effect and keep modifying my numbers when I dial them,
so I went on the phone settings to disable it (or change the country since I'm not in the US and the phone came from the US)
but the settings are grayed out and I can't change them!
Any ideas? (screenshot attached)
I have the same problem
Hello, I have the exact same problem, but mine came out when I restored the phone to factory settings. Now I can't turn off assisted dialling. You find out how to fix yours.??

The solution was to install the unbranded international ROM, now the phone is perfect!

I have a solution.
You just need a Verizon (or just your native phone's carrier) sim card. Put it in, restart - voila! Settings are active. Change it to yours. Put your new sim card, restart and be happy!

That is not a solution. You can easily install EXDialer or any other dialer from Play Market and it will work like a charm. Or you can go with my solution above.

Just because you like to install carrier branded ROMs and third party dialers doesn't change the fact that a fresh unbranded ROM also takes care of the Verizon dial assistance crap,
plus really, install another app just to dial??? Posting your solution is absolutely fine, just let people decided for themselves.

If this is your first time then you really have to be careful, I knew what ROM to download for my phone and happened to finnd one that was
not carrier branded, in other words, clean android experience with no carrier tweaks, like the dialing assistance, if you are not confident
enough don't do it.
