Does anyone know of any camera apps other than stock that can do slow motion?
I'm really disappointed with the slow motion mode on OP2, compared with iPhone 5s
The quality is bad, tons of noise, and cannot adjust what part to be slow

Hi,
Is anyone there who tried LgCamera 6.4 on LG G2? If yes what is your experience? Could you record 1080p60fps video?
I tried and tested few functions and so far it works perfectly on LG G2 too. Also It shots pictures without any sharp blur or any other dirt. Only the pure clear picture which is unbelievable in this modern world. It doesn't want to impress the user with too sharped photos on mobile screen but pictures look good on monitor and TV as well.

Yes, it is.
I hadn't seen this camera before and just installed 6.4 final. It appears to be taking great pics. Better than stock G2 cam. Will test tonight indoors with low light on my GF.
I noticed you can't take pictures with the phone vertically.. The pictures come out sideways

That's not very good quality. I began thinking it was the software causing this camera to be a bust. It's the hardware I am gathering.
Did anyone try to 60fps video option. G2 can do. This software also has such option but result is always 30fps. Factory camera software can record 60fps video.
My low light pics were awful, the aosp camera did a better job, if that tells you anything

It tells not too much. I haven't used AOSP camera on LG G2 so far but low light function is not in my focus sorry, although I am very satisfied with low light capabilities of built in camera. What is interesting for me in this program is that pictures and video post-processing is much less then others'. As I see every phone manufacturer built as many post-processing options in their phone as they could do. Typical is the sharping and denoising which make pictures on mobile screen wow but zooming on monitor to just 100% it is already terrible usually. I hate this and in addition such kind of effects cannot be removed subsequently. I know these effects can be good and useful sometimes but I prefer if I can do the post-processing according to my taste. So this program is very promising from this point of view.
I did video in sunlight too and I got always 30fps result in spite of 60 fps setting. I am wondering whether any of you knows a trick how to turn it on. Thanks for it in advance.
Does anyone know whether you needed software to take advantage of the ois in the G2? Meaning, can a camera aside from the stock camera use the ois? I noticed this camera app has an anti shake mode but I'm guessing that's a software stabilization.

All camera software takes all advantage and disadvantage of OiS. It cannot be turned on/off. Also I see that software has an anti shake option but I haven't turned it on yet. I think using it does not make sense in case of photo because of OiS. In case of video? Interesting... I think so that software anti-shake function does not eliminate disadvantage of OiS .

Qualcomm libs handle hfr rates differently max fps range is 30 but if you add this camera parameter video-hfr
Code:
161// Values for HFR settings.
162const char QCameraParameters::VIDEO_HFR_OFF[] = "off";
163const char QCameraParameters::VIDEO_HFR_2X[] = "60";
164const char QCameraParameters::VIDEO_HFR_3X[] = "90";
165const char QCameraParameters::VIDEO_HFR_4X[] = "120";
video-hfr 60
video-hfr 90
video-hfr 120
you can enable hfr
Thanks a lot indeed. As I see I can do it just on rooted system. I am planing to root my phone, may be this weekend.

Nobody expect something special in case of low light! As I see it does not contain any special function for it. Use built in camera in low light! It works very well in these circumstances.
Aosp camera better than stock G2 camera? Must be something wrong with the phone . I can't make this phone take a bad picture.
What is nice about this app is that you can change the bitrate from very low to very high. Also, it will allow you to choose the file format you create and will allow for touch to focus in video, unlike the stock app in the G2.
Also, it automatically brightens the screen to 100% which is convenient. It seems to me that there are things that different camcorder/camera apps do better than others. Apparently there it's capable of recording from the input jack in a certain configuration that other apps are not able to. I don't recall exactly what the details are, but if you are interested in connecting an external mic, apparently this app can do something 'special'.
Hello everybody, i just would know before buy that device, if it suffer from throttling or high heat while playing heavy games, if I can modify ISO while doing a video like on s7,g5 etc and if the device really suffer from autofocus problem, I need a good camera phone both front and back camera at a nice price and this still looks the best, sorry for bad english :highfive:

I don't know about games as I don't do heavy gaming. As for the camera the stock camera doesn't have a manual mode for iso or anything else but you can use third party apps like proshot to get those features and there is NO autofocus problem with the device ( though it isn't as fast as s7) and the camera is actually better than s7 in low light. Front camera is again great.
Overall a nice phone IMO

For full Manuel control your only option is third party apps but speaking frankly they won't get you the same experince as the stock app on a galaxy s7

Yes it does throttle, especially noticeable on games that require a fair bit of processing power. I've never noticed any issues with auto-focus. The have no manual control with the stock camera, you'd need a third-party app for that.
So simple, i installed Camera FV-5 and i can feel the thing with faster time capturing a shoot and autofocus time is much better.
Fix the app camera SONY.

Camera FV-5 didn't work for me. The shutter lag was far worse and the autofocus sometimes hangs and I cannot even take an image. ProCapture isn't much better either.
I'm on the latest software version as well.
I use stock app on manual mode with 8 megapixels and be sure to half-press the shutter button to let it focus. The delay is not as bad but you can still see it skips a frame from the one when you press the shutter. This is unacceptable for a flagship device.

I have been testing the app this last day and it feels so much better than app camera stock one. Thanks for the tip about the manual mode, i ll check it. But really Sony needs to fix the app, its just software fault
I personally like the stock Z5 camera app but I recommend you give Snap Camera a try if you hate the stock camera app.
I used to own the LG Optimus F3Q with most crappy camera you could find on a phone release in 2014.
But using Snap Camera on that phone made night and day difference. Some pics were even decent enough to be used as background wallpaper.
I like that app so much that I bought the full version.
Nexus 6P has this but Axon 7 apparently does not? Would love to be proven wrong.
It's in the camera app.
Just look at the screenshots. There are some other camera modes too

Please read the title again. He asked about SOUND in slow motion.
I have been searching for this also. From what I've been reading there are only a limited number of android devices which are capable of recording sound in slow motion. It is pretty much the Nexus phones and the Pixel phones and a few Samsung Galaxys. The Google phones use the Google Camera app which records it.
I have also tried many apps to record in slow motion with sound, but none do, or even record true slow motion for that matter, probably because this phone doesn't support the Camera2 API.
I've tried changing the framerate in Open Camera and it's not supported. I've tried loading old versions of the Google Camera.
With the emphasis ZTE places on the audio features on this phone it's disappointing that audio is missing from the slow motion feature. If there is any way to record a slow motion video with sound or even another app which can record more than 30fps with sound please share, thanks!

My bad. Sorry about that. I was trying to be helpful... Anyway I've been using the slow motion and did realize no sound... Kind of a bummer...

No worries, didn't mean to sound harsh. Your screenshots were helpful. Hopefully ZTE will release an update enabling sound, or at least enabling Camera2 API support.
Its a shame, because the slow motion videos look great but sound is really cool with them.
In the normal camera app photo mode is at 10fps with incredible amount of motion blur, switching to any other mode like video mode or panorama it's completely fixed.
So when I open Snapchat or any other app that can use my camera by default it's using the regular photo mode with all the motion blur and 10fps.
Is there no way to fix this at all, what could be causing this?
I love this phone rooted with LOS16 everything is great about it but the fact that I can't even record videoabove 10fps unless i use an app that takes full advantage of the camera settings makes it unusable to me.
Thank you for your replies.

It did the same thing out of the box. I was hoping with a custom rom it would solve this issue. Camera works fine in well lit conditions but it has a hard time struggling to maintain framerate when in a dark environment especially a dark environment with flashing lights. Maybe i'm just unlucky and got a dud device.

So here is a rough recording of what I mean. In Snapchat very very low fps. Switch to default camera app in video mode. Buttery smooth. Switch to the photo mode it's very low frames per second. I'm going to flash to the earliest official stock rom to see if this solves my issue

Just typical Snapchat, it doesn't utilize the camera hardware, pretty sure with older devices such as the V20 it takes a screenshot of the view finder when taking a picture..
