Hello,
I'm looking for suggestions about tweaking the soft buttons, more specifically I want to assign the buttons on the right to avoid the little stretching I have to do and also to not compromise my stable hold of the phone.
Thanks.

I would love this too!
For now though I've been using LMT Launcher and that's been working just great!

No, they don't disappear.

I haven't specifically used it but I think that the Xposed module called "Gravity Box" might have that trick up it's sleeve. It comes in both Lollipop & Marshmallow flavors, there should be a dedicated thread under the Xposed modules here on XDA that you could browse through and ask questions about that possibility.

You are absolutely correct! I should've suggested that too as I'm using GravityBox myself (I'm not hiding the nav bar though).
In fact, since I wrote my original reply above I've had to remove LMT due to some incompatibility and am using GravityBox's similar PIE controls instead.

Hi guys...
I dont know how many of you are annoyed with the way u ''multi task'' or bring ''recent apps'' in S3.. im certainly...
I feel ''pressing and Holding the home button'' for a while makes me think its a lllllllloooooooooooonnnnnnggggg time... so being lazy & impatient i came up with an idea....
:good: why cant Samsung or Someone could use the gesture "SWIPE UP FROM THE ""BOTTOM EDGE"" OF THE DISPLAY" to bring up the recent apps screen? Just like the way we bring down the notification bar from TOP EDGE of the display
Logically I want the device to look for the initial value of Y=0 on the screen to enable this gesture
We all know there is enough gap between the HOME BUTTON and the BOTTOM EDGE of the display?
Kindly say what do you think about this ? A request to Senior Members of the forum to make this idea reach the Samsung Engineers please.. Thank you
Can't be implemented until there is some hardware change.

When the Android 4.1 Jelly Bean update hits soon, that gesture will activate Google Now.
hm.why dont implement it with gestures+siyah kernel (link)
but instead of swiping above the hardware button, swipe on the bottom of the screen to up.

I set that gesture on nova launcher prime. If I Swype up from the app drawer icon it opens recent apps so I don't have to press the home button to see recent apps!
Hope it helps!

are you sure about that? I found that only on the G Nexus 4.1....
He's looking for gestures on the small area between screen and the hardware home key. That's not possible because the screen doesn't have touch sensitivity there.

No... I want the device to look for the initial value of Y=0 to enable this feature.....
I think is verry possible considering swiping from very top downwards on any app in the sgs3 brings down notifications.

Well that may interfere with functionality of a few apps. This could be implemented though.

You will not need Samsung engineers for this. If it attracts any kernel developer here then that's all you need. Try gokhan or Franco.

If you use Nova launcher prime you can set up gestures. I just tested it I set a two finger swipe up to show recent apps and it works like a charm
Edit not sure it works when any app has the focus but it does work when on the homescreen

I've looked around and it appears there are a number of paid apps that apparently let me change the soft keys, but I'm not 100% sure if they'll work with the stock LG G2 "OS"...
I want my multitasking button back... No need for a settings button, IMO.

Absolutely. And I'm handy with UNIX, so navigating the filesystem and using text editors to muck with XML isn't a problem. I'm just not a developer.
Also interested in being able to change it that key to recent apps.

Just tested, no you can not. It will always hide after you lock your screen, so you'll have to swipe/touch to bring the soft keys back up.

And also it will always overlap over the screen. There are ways to keep the navbar from disappearing, but you won't be able to access anythi g underneath it because it doesn't shift the screen up, just overlay

Big letdown because it looks like a great app. Hopefully the dev can get it working for us in the future.

My quasi solution was auto hide soft keys, auto to 0, auto hide only had anywhere on the bar checked, and swipe. You still need to swipe after wake, but if you need anything under it, just tap the left side to hide. If you use the mock option, home will leave space for it.

I sent the nova developer an email about it. He said he is looking into it. He can enable if LG allows third party apps access to that feature.

Yes, but, not,as,convenient as having a dedicated button. Personal choice I guess.

I use GMD soft keys to hide them completely then use LMT for pie. That way I can completely control my button layout, gain screen real estate, navigate from left right and bottom and do it with whatever colors I choose. A must have for me.

What did you set your device input for LMT? I cant get it to work. Thanks.
Is there a way to change the quick launch items in the menu that pops up when pulling up from the home button?
I never use QVoice and QMemo so I wanted to see if there was a way to change the options (similar to what can be done in AOSP ROMs).
Thank you!
Edit. My bad. No. There's no way to do that.

Bummer. I was hoping there was an xposed module or something.
Oh well.
Hello,
I have a Z1,but what annoys me is the back button order.
It is on the left, and if i want to go back it is almost impossible to do with my right thumb and mostly i have to use my left hand to pres it.
My previous phone was a X10 and the buttons on that were just ideal.
Is there any way to change the order of those buttons?
Also its a huge mis that Sony didn't place those button on the black area on the bottom of the phone! if they did this right, this phone would be perfect!

Good Lock 2019 is superb from Samsung no doubt about it but in case of System - Display - Navigation bar - Navigation buttons or Full screen gestures AND One Handed Operation which is available in Good Lock...what's the use of having both why cant we disable system navigation buttons or gestures if we ONLY have to use One Handed Operation which in my opinion is super awesome!!
